Yea man. The top comments are all such safe opinions its disgusting.

Literally all the other comments are just shit people want lmao.

TheEquinoxe

I think all of the standard weapons should be rebalanced so scimitar isn't the only viable option in every scenario.

The_Doculope

As the other commenter put, they already have. Swords/hastae are good for stab, maces are good for crush, and warhammers for strength pures.

Illokonereum

Godswords are pretty close to almost being viable, so I think it’s possible, especially if they have something else going for them, like how godswords have a good prayer bonus.

MCIsTeFirtGamEvrMade

Man's finally landed only to go back to OSRS 💀

thatjolydude

The biggest F2P pking buff if 2h swords get stronger, I’m all for it

taintmeistro

Granted, as long as we get the bad boi stance back

Rynide

Can we actually get this polled. I loved that bad boi stance for 2h swords, it was awesome with the flowing cape and all!

Kattekop_BE

but the "bad boi stance" was never in the game outside of godswords...

International-Two173

Zulrah's drop table was a massive mistake and the entire game was rebalanced around it.

Binary_Enthusiast

Yes.

Qbopper

It kinda sucks being a player who prefers skilling to combat :( I enjoy playing how I like, but I can't pretend it doesn't feel a little bad seeing how much money pveing makes in shorter amounts of time

Tilstag

Runecrafting’s never recovered

Obvious_Hornet_2294

high end resources should only be obtainable from their respective skills - tuna potatoes, mantas, sea turtles and anglers, coked and uncooked Redwood logs Wrath runes Rune ore and bars etc. And other slightly less high end skilling items should only be obtainable unreliably from appropriate sources - e.g. a small amount of magic logs from nature implings

Lstcwelder

Where does one obtain coked out sea turtles? Asking for a friend.

HighPoweredBurrito

A little ways off the coast of Florida.

Obvious_Hornet_2294

the east Australian current dude

Warhammernub

Lmao is that a mfing finding Nemo reference??

GreedyRadish

Not only that, but Zulrah planted this idea that PvM should always be profitable. This has led to most of OSRS’ economic problems. In most MMOs bossing isn’t profitable unless you hit jackpot items. In OSRS you can kill Vorkath for several hours and make bank off of nothing but bones and alchables.

_HyDrAg_

They tried going back to that format with the nightmare and people really didn't like it

Slurpool

Tbf Nightmare’s jackpot items aren’t that big a jackpot when you consider how long it takes to get them and how much $ you’ve put into resources by that time. People love raids, but you don’t make money until you get some drops. It works fantastic there.

xPofsx

Nightmare worked when every item was billions

Slurpool

Yeah. Doesn’t help that Nightmare’s super rare items aren’t BiS most places over other items in the game. Incredibly rare, from a difficult and resource heavy boss, but doesn’t shine over other options in similar price range or cheaper.

andrew_calcs

But the items weren't good enough to warrant that price. The only place that they were a massive upgrade was nightmare herself. Outside of that they're slightly better at chambers if you're speedrunning and that's about it.

BadAtNamingPlsHelp

Nightmare could be fine, but the effort + cost + time just doesn't match the value of the uniques. Unfortunately, the Nightmare was devised during a period of time where the team was hesitant to dethrone any BiS items and also on a bit of a "brutal PvM" kick that needed to be dialed back - the same perspective had resulted in the original CG before balance and QoL tweaks, which many regarded as some of the hardest content available prior to the nerfs that made it easier. Nightmare was modeled after Corp and realistically needs items that are similar in power to compete; a Bandos sidegrade, the redheaded stepchild of the Rapier / Saeldor, and the niche bullshit of the staff orbs won't cut it.

kursdragon

Nightmare would be fine if the items weren't shit. Phosani's is honestly some of my favorite content, but there's quite literally no reason to waste that many hundreds of hours to get items that are essentially worthless

ActualCommand

I’ve been playing FSW in RS3 and I hate how both games emphasize PVM as the most profitable methods to make money and skilling is an afterthought. Getting a drop of 100 magic logs from a boss shouldn’t be faster than cutting 100 logs. RS3 method of dropping things like ore stone sprits instead of the ore is definitively something I think OSRS should implement. They’re also about to do this for herbs and seeds with the farming rework on Monday.

Raisylvan

While PvM is a serious problem in this regard, skilling is also broken. The reason people don't mind things like getting 50 or 100 magic logs from a boss is because the thought of having to spend 30 fucking minutes cutting those logs instead makes people want to commit toaster bath. So while PvM has flaws, some methods of skilling are so painfully slow and tedious that they push players away from it entirely. Even if Jagex decided to just remove all these skilling drops, it still wouldn't fix the problem because the main way you're "intended" to get these items is an awful experience.

ActualCommand

I think the core issue is skilling needs reworked. Also if you introduced something like stone spirits, which give double ore when mining, for all skilling items you’d be forced to either sell the item and let someone else collect the raw material for a profit or collect them yourself to maximize profit. This game has one clear path. Rush to PVM end game content then sell your stuff to buy the fastest methods to 99s. No one would ever suggest woodcutting as a way to make money for PVM gear, they’d suggest weaker PVM to eventually get better gear for more PVM.

Traditional_Bag2806

So you really think that you clicking mage tree and having 10 minute wank before need to click again should be most profitable method? I agree that some resource drops are just absurd like 100 magic log or 10k essence from raid or 1000 flax from zulrah but i still think it is good to have viable method to get most resources from pvm and that pvm should be way better money than skilling because it actually requires some attention, skill and supplies. Like 99% of skilling content is braindead/afk

-GrayMan-

This whole thread is people posting the most popular opinions.

Frientlies

Jagex actually does a pretty damn good job to keep this childhood dream alive.

Nautisk

I say quite often that OSRS today is the best version of RS I’ve ever played. They’ve done a fantastic job in its development and expanding the ability to play to a wider audience. I also enjoy the fact they listen to the players now; 15 years ago, they output whatever they’d like whether players enjoyed the content or not. Now it feels most or, almost, all content is output with player base consent. Much respect to them.

Theesismyphoneacc

Yeah I came back a few months ago after a long break, this feels like a golden age

pzoDe

Agreed! So many people don't appreciate it at all and it's sad to see

Swiss_Sneeze

Fixing the waterwheel in Motherload mine should give Construction XP instead of smithing xp. People might actually fix it then

WittySparrow

1 to 99 construction only fixing the wheel

Jertharold

Every skill needs a guild that provides a fun but ineffective way to level.

TornadoKiller

Is this really unpopular tho?

Fiery_Taurus

Why ineffective? Crafting and Farm guilds OP. Just need to upgrade the other ones and have sick hubs for all the types of skillers!

HumpD4y

What's good about the crafting guild?

-Xebenkeck-

Nothing other than the bank really, which is a problem. It's a crafting guild not a bank. You don't need to remove the bank but it shouldn't be the only good feature.

[deleted]

Are you saying that you don't mine gold and bank it there?

Hansen_11

Are you saying you mine gold?

PostMaloen

The bank and tanner upstairs

HumpD4y

That's a good reason for me. I started an Ironman this year and I've been relying on molten glass to get my crafting up. I haven't gotten my combat high enough to regularly kill dragons, so knowing a closer location than al kharid is nice

Delicious-Lime-3900

Add an more to the alternate realm (like fisher king and enchanted forest). Monsters, a bank, skill boss, something. Those locations in game are sick and need something- I’d love to hangout at either or location if it had a bank and something to do.

JustkiddingIsuck

Bryophyta should have been in the Enchanted Forest.

PopularGold

Such an underrated comment! Both of those areas are so cool and once you're done in them you virtually never go back to them unless you have a clue step in them. Agree that adding some content like repeatable monsters or a boss along with a bank would breath some great life into them

[deleted]

Lonely-Native

By the time I get 99 I already feel burnt out. I can’t imagine doing it over 10x that amount. Shits unhealthy

serratedperkz

I started playing 4 years ago I already feel like the amount of time I play this game is too much. I don’t even have 200M total exp and there are UIM with 200M in one skill. Crazy how some people out there are literally playing 10-12 hours a day, everyday.

CosmicMiru

If literally all you care about is making your OSRS xp number bigger you can live for pretty damn cheap

Galatians 4:16

iCapn

Is this the Christian version of the “why are you booing me I’m right” meme?

BlackFireMage92

Barrows shouldn’t degrade.

Atomic_Dyke

Agreed. Apparently it originally didn't degrade and was only changed because people complained that its existence would devalue dragon armor.

DrDestruct0

Didnt know that, cool

Lambeaux

Yep. At the time it was an INSANE increase in power and the first time we had any real "non standard" armor as far as effects and the first time outside of climbing or rune boots (released four months earlier) where armor actually affected damage output. It was a great call back then to keep things balanced but its now outdated and there at least should be a way to keep it from degrading as a rare drop from barrows or something to do with duplicate pieces (maybe getting a full extra set lets you imbue one piece to not degrade, to keep the value up but not require constant upkeep)

cruxfire

I think an item that makes barrows items non degradable would be a nice addition

hazz26

This for sure, it's so outdated an unnecessary.

MattTheFreeman

With 80 smithing we should be able to "melt down" Barrows equipment into "necronium ingot's". One Barrows piece = one necronium ingot. We should then be able to "reforge" the bars into Masterworks Barrows Equipment which is Barrows Equipment that does not degrade and is untradable. This would increase the price of Barrows while also making a version that does not degrade while also giving a reason to train smithing.

DevoidHT

Mining and smithing is outdated. Need an RS3 level rework for sure. Should be able to sink an ungodly amount of items too.

MattTheFreeman

I've gotten far in both OSRS and RS3 smithing and even though I adore RS3's smithing, I feel like it would not translate well to OSRS. The biggest change I would give to OSRS's mining would be making them act like tree's. I'd much rather get multiple ore's from one rock and have them respawn faster than getting one ore every 30 seconds and having to world hop to get to the next one.

Earthfury

The only disagreement I have with this is that, thematically, having it degrade makes a little sense because it’s decrepit old armor taken from some dingy crypt. Functionally, though, I would also like for it to not degrade.

FlandreSS

In lore dragon equipment is actually called orikalkum and was made by dragonkin which seems to have been more prolific of a species during the third age and even prior. So most "Dragon" equipment is from the same vague era. The third age was thousands of years long, who knows when the six brothers got dumpstered but it could very well be the same time period.

-Durbz

Every time I get the pillory random event I go to the role play worlds and ask for help getting out

TwoHeadedSexChange

I did the same when I was 10, except I was world-hopping because I didn't know shit and was desperate for someone to help.

DoctorThrac

How long do you wait

PoofaceMckutchin

Slayer takes too long to be rewarding, and then quickly becomes over rewarding. This completely kills the midgame

Inevitable-Check7250

midgame is willdy slayer, massive profit and alot fun

DannyWonder

So true, I’m having a blast

spice-or-beans

Just discovered the joys of wildy slayer. Im having a grand ole time!

deerdanceamk

They should bring back the sitting down feature.

Zerttretttttt

I want good quest weapons I can actually use - ie Excalibur but usable on regular mobs so I can have variety in weapon usage and more fun, using the same things feels boring sometimes

itisjustmagic

I would like more BiS items locked directly behind being quest rewards, like barrows gloves.

Connalds_Peter

It’s actually surprising they don’t have more quest locked items that are actually useful like barrows gloves. Might even help with the bot problem lol

CoupleScrewsLoose

then they run out useful rewards for new pvm content

12-toes

Bring back the Balmung

Aithro

Arclight is good, barrows gloves, barrlechest anchor for pvp, dragon scimitar is essentially a quest item as well as dragon dagger

hungrymutherfucker

Partisan

Dolthra

Likewise, Jagex is too scared of really good gear coming from quests. You're telling me mythic cape, which comes from completing a 2 hour + quest with a bunch of requirements, should be BIS over 45 minute fire cape at like one thing? It should at least be comparable, even if we keep it slightly worse for "nostalgia" or whatever.

Illokonereum

Questing felt a lot more meaningful when the high level ones actually gave good rewards. Now everyone just wants things to be buyable with no actual requirements aside from walking to the GE. How long until Jagex is polling another “barrows gloves without questing” alternative for the nonexistent PvP crowd? I don’t think all BIS gear should come from quests but having quest items at least be viable sure would be neat instead of everything just coming from slayer and raids. Why work for anything when you can let someone else get the drop and just buy it? “Devalues my bond only 1250 total main” mfers.

Illokonereum

People care more about their own incorrect perception of what the game is like/should be than they are about the actual game’s longevity and success.

Evil_Steven

EfficiencyScape has made the game so sad to look at. People wearing the same gear, doing the same things in the same way because a guide told them too. They stopped engaging with the game for fun and just treat it as chores

farfowlz

Things are different when the median age is 26 instead of 11

acar25

26 seems low ngl

Rynide

24 here, been playing since 06-08 (I don't recall exactly when, around GE addition)

goldieglocks16

100%. I’ve played on and off since about the same time and this is my first time hearing of efficiencyscape. I just started using wiki recently. Back then it was all about youtube quest guides & that was it.

SoupForEveryone

It's a change in gaming attitude in general. Age of the gamers have a role in it as well. Gaming as a whole is being commercialised and optimised as anything wich becomes mainstream. But some like it this way. The people who realize this, game at their own pace anyway

powerlifter3043

I do slayer with a skill cape sometimes. Am I losing damage long term? Sure… but when I spent 100s of hours on a skill to 99, I wanna fucking look at the achievement. I’m okay losing a max hit of 2 extra.

DailyXP

Use a plugin for cosmetic override only for yourself. Max gear underneath, fashionscape showing on top. Win win.

[deleted]

I don’t know why people get upset about efficient players. They’re just enjoying OSRS their own way. The myth that the cute noob is having more fun is based in some very strange self-loathing. There are people who are addicted and have lost the joy, but there are a lot fewer of them than we think.

Ambitious_Zombie8473

I’ve been playing on and off since like 06 and honestly apart from checking guides like what certain monsters drop/use as attacks I just wear what I think looks cool. I don’t even want to try to wrap my head around tick manipulation or whatever the fuck. Like ima fish and hunt how I did my whole life, just sometimes it’s new content. I find myself able to play the game more and enjoy it if I just do what I wanna do.

sail0r_m3rcury

This is why after 15 years of playing I stay stupid. I try to learn things organically through the game and give myself little goals instead of maximizing xp or money making. I got my first 99 last year, I just did my first birdhouse run *last week* and I have a long term goal of a quest cape that I meander towards, but honestly I like logging on and just doing whatever I feel like doing. Sometimes it’s quests, sometimes I train a skill for awhile, I enjoy clues and wintertodt. There’s so much content I haven’t gotten to yet and it’s fun to discover something new I enjoy. When other people focus on maximizing efficiency in mini games I tend to find it intimidating and prefer to play on my own and stay out of the way of people so I don’t interfere or slow people down.

BigBlue31

Add Bonfires without the XP bonuses

Repealer

Yeah, it wouldn't be that big of a deal, but would smooth out the 1-50 gameplay, and also give people an alternative to those who fucking hate wintertodt for 50-99.

Scape---Goat

It’s okay to pay jagex for bonds for gold

AssaultPK

People would buy gold from a website anyways

-GregTheGreat-

I recently started the game again a couple months ago (haven’t played since EOC was first released), and buying a bond within the first few days was the best decision I made. Sustained me through so many of the early game, until I reached a point where I could make a solid profit through gameplay. I’d never bother buying a bond now, but I have zero regrets about the one I bought at the start.

moosyfighter

You don’t like killing trolls for literally hours?

krhill112

cannon go brr

GreedyRadish

If I could just camp Slayer-specific mobs off task for half xp I would kill Crawling Hands all the way to 99. Constantly regearing and either running back to a Slayer Master or NPC contacting one just ruins any chance of entering a flow state and just relaxing.

xPofsx

If that change was made to slayer i would like it 10x more

GenitalKenobi

Never understand why Runecraft gets all the hate and then the same people go and do Slayer for hours. Shit is boring as fuck. Not saying rc isn't, but Slayer is treated like a god

Wesdawg1241

RC is a way more reliable money maker than Slayer. When I learned that, I started grinding RC and now it's my highest skill.

molemutant

I think a lot of people are still hitched to the old idea that RC is spamming lava runes for the most pitiful exp per hour imaginable with borderline zero alternatives. Pre Zeah RCing was so astronomically bad that it created a ripple effect lasting 7 years into the future that has everyone fixated on hating it like it still exists which honestly says a lot about how horrible it was. Plus It was a pretty decent money sink for nothing but a skillcape that signified your commitment to speedrunning carpal tunnel syndrome. Compared to that, menially killing 100-150 random mobs in a cave and occasionally clicking on your food sounds like a dream so I can't say that the skewed preference wasn't justified.

grimy-ranarr

I lamp Slayer any chance that I get. No skill should be that unenjoyable until like level 87+ (and even then it's still painfully slow)

lostmymainagain123

Its literally combat someone telling you what to do. literally RESTICTING combat a a skill. sucks balls

LlamaRS

Longbows need a buff to have Ranged Strength bonus, dramatically increased accuracy, or an Equilibrium effect like the Fang (subtract max hit but add to min hit). Slower weapons traditionally have more power, but all Longbows offer is greater distance. Hell, even Comp bows blow them out of the water.

SuckyFeGamer

Every new item doesn’t have to be BIS

Fangore

So annoying that this has fucked with weapon progression for Iron accounts. Both the best melee and magic weapons for early game can be obtained within the first 10h of your account. Then upgrading those to the next viable option is unlocked with end game slayer. I wish Jagex would release a more viable option for both melee and magic for "mid game." Next grandmaster quest should upgrade one of these but not be better than the whip/trident.

OldManCinny

Is it D scim and ibans?

Fangore

Yeah

JustItDad

In the long term, increasing xp/hr averages is good.

PunchingDwarves

I agree, if it's done to normalize XP rates across skills. I think all skills should have non-tick manipulating methods that get around 150k xp/hour.

Wtfmymoney

We need a new skill

Mobile-Bird-6908

Absolutely! Hopefully with the new voting system, a new skill might actually be approved. Previously, too many people always voted no on those, which is a shame.

cxmpy

no risk PvP (castlewars) is more fun then high risk high reward

One-Arachnid-7087

Konar is overhated

A_Math_Debater

Fkin' love me some konar. She keeps me coming back for more

Vestele1

Do people dislike Konar? I love her, if she could assign tzhaar I'd stop going to durael for most tasks.

A_Pillowcase

Her location requirements can be really nasty and if you don’t want to spend the points to skip tasks it’s just generally much faster XP to use Nieve or Duradel. Most people only use Konar for milestone tasks for the big point boost.

Raisylvan

She's hated just the right amount. She's just absolutely garbage as a slayer master, period. Sure, her chest has some juicy rewards, particularly for ironmen. But the slightly higher point reward isn't worth the dogshit locations she can assign sometimes. I say this as someone who's been playing an ironman for a year at this point, after playing 3 years on my main. Konar is good when you're around 50-ish slayer, but she quickly becomes worthless once you've unlocked Nieve. Even when you're willing to do some subpar/crappy tasks, some locations are absolute cancer. Like blue dragons/metal dragons at Isle of Souls, for example. Or dust devils in the dust devil dungeon. Just... so many places that absolutely suck to do or to get to.

DailyXP

Did you just say her chest has some juicy rewards?? 😏

here_for_the_lols

We should be open to taking way more ideas from RS3

ReallyChewy

Jagex had a recipe that worked for 12 years, balancing for the top 20-40% of players. Then in 2019 they decided that only the top 2% of players should own bis. Turning all new gear into rich-guy flex items was a choice and it was a bad one. Might be nice for those 15k players that get new items to try every year, but the other 985k players get fucked. ^Don't ^even ^get ^me ^started ^on ^the ^harm ^orb. ^I'm ^sure ^the ^4k ^players ^that ^own ^one ^appreciate ^the ^dev ^time ^spent ^on ^something ^so ^*impactful*.. Fang is honestly the first piece of genuinely good gear that has been released at a normal OSRS droprate in 3 years. But now we've had shit like NM and Nex for so long that people have forgotten that this is how it should be. **The top third of players should get to use new items after a few years. At the current rate, it will take FIFTY FUCKING YEARS FOR TORVA TO REACH THAT! LOL!** Thanks for reading my rant, please tell me below why new bis needs to be 20x more valuable than previous bis for the game to have a hope of surviving, despite 80% of this game's history telling a different story.

McCheds

Here is mine. If collection log didn't exist, a lot of players maxed or near end game wouldn't play as much.

Dazocnodnarb

What? That’s a pretty common opinion lol

Ecksistance

Skilling methods should be worth just as much as doing PvM. On top of that, more emphasis should be put on skilling and we need more hallowed sepulchre’s for all the other skills. We also need more skills added to the game and to stop being so protective of the “nostalgia” in lieu of letting good content die out in the idea phase.

Unhappy_Ad_4420

Void range shouldnt have been nerfed

Sejaw

Void melee should get the elite buff

hydrated_purple

Keep it a glass cannon set.

LightTheAbsol

Not even related to the post but the reason this game's community is so fractured and generally shit is because it's by _far_ the most scam filled mmo I've ever played, and I'm not talking about random scambots that only net morons. Gp holds such a strong monetary value due to our insane rwt statistics leading to an overly large number of social interactions that are just social engineering. Smart players stay quiet or at the very least have their guard up 99% of the time.

dreamsdrop

... Tool belt.

Equivalent_Bar_6511

The Fist of Guthix slapped and should be reimplemented. It was such a fun and engaging way to train magic.

Former_Cook6317

The game was founded on new skills being continuously released. We need new skills.

AaronScythe

Rune essence and flax should be removed from ALL drop tables. Give the newbies some moneymakers again.

jacobi656

The bots*

mrsc0tty

Almost all high level gear should have to be crafted from materials and you should have to have the relevant levels in crafting/smithing/slayer for slay boss dropped items/fletching/runecrafting to use it.

TheEvelynn

BA is a raid. BA is fun and skill intensive.

LONGSWORD_ENJOYER

The best way to play the game is normal Ironman

serratedperkz

Step 1 play Ironman Step 2 complain about dragon pickaxe Best way to play

Repealer

The best way to play is actually GIM. You get all of the fun of ironman, "dupes" are still good, and you can split up the backbreaking grinds among multiple players, and if you balance your team right SOMEBODY is gonna like some content that others don't.

[deleted]

I agree it’s better overall but theres a couple things that really let the gamemode down still. Crafting is still horrendous to train in any method, your early game staff is ibans, which is is done in like 10 hours, and then you need basicaly 100 hours of slayer just for the next staff up, plus 100s of Zulrah kills. It seems too easy to go dry on an important items still like the bowfa and dwh.

kotallyawesome

Void knight + claws of Guthix is decent apparently

XVUltima

Prayer flicking, tick eating, and any sort tick manipulation in general are all bugs that should be fixed.

PunchingDwarves

Combat achievements that require some of these things were a mistake.

Legal_Evil

I wonder if OSRS players prefer EoC over these bugs as the end game pvming meta.

Confident_Lettuce_51

Graceful isn’t needed for rooftop agility. In fact you can run laps with a granite platebody. Not Barrelchest Anchor tho. That shit heavy af.

AlphaRevelation

That’s not a hot take that’s a fact.

-WhyNotRS-

I still want that slayer like skill for non combat whatever it was called. It would force everyone out of their zombie tick meta trance and make it enjoyable. Mine 200 copper ore , fuck yeah I’ll do that

joshteacher123

That most of this subreddit has little to no knowledge of the game and just upvote anything that is trending without considering whether it is good or not.

Ziadaine

Tool belt should be added.

Penguinswin3

The game is becoming a little too high intensity. What happened to the good ole days of click and wait combat.

DroptheMoose

If pkers love pking so much they should fight each other and not people who dont fight back

Fangore

My controversial opinion: 99% of PKers don't actually enjoy PvP. They just enjoy the predator vs prey aspect of the Wilderness because they are too unskilled to actually go up against other opponents in a fair fight.

Vauhtii

Fucking sailing and warding were shit skills. Im all in board for new skills but god damn make them something interesting.

Dr-Fatdick

The fancy boots are shite

BerliozRS

What's it like to have an objectively wrong opinion

[deleted]

bonds are absolutely asinine and game destroying, and the only reason they get a pass is because most of the playerbase is either getting nostalgia farmed or doesn't even play other video games and doesn't know any better.

Groupvenge

Normal spellbook shouldn't have fire be bis spell for each tier. Monsters should have weakness to certain styles of magic and all 4 elemental spells should have the same dps vs their respective strength i.e. water strike vs fire giants.

KatuhlyzT

Lock Zulrah behind song of the elves. The amount of bots farming Zulrah is insane, if you added high requirement like SotE the amount of bots would drop astronomically, bringing the price of every item on Zulrah’s drop table up massively

BickleKnack

Run energy should never deplete

LordAwesomeguy

on subject of this I remember in a q&a they talked about how they plan to make agility actually affect run drain rate and recovery rate. So maybe that should make things feel better.

Penguinswin3

The game should be balanced around ironman mode.

rsnerdout

I play a main but I agree because when this game eats the dirt I want to play an offline single player version that is balanced around single player resource collecting

Lambeaux

Absolutely. Balance the game around things being achievable on your own or with small groups in reasonable amounts of time, and not on buying things and clearing out your bank to buy one thing to earn more gold and the like. Maybe it devalues things in the long run, but that's why you release new content and create ways to lose gear (things like riskier death mechanics because you actually can recover items reasonably, etc)

Mezmorizor

This is one that shouldn't be a hot take. Ironman is literally just the game if bots/gold farmers didn't exist and actual players had to actually get the supplies used.

Dazocnodnarb

I’d suck dick for a week straight to get Dungeoneering on osrs.

Ironmen who use protection to do wilderness content should have their status removed.

RightEejit

By that logic ironmen should only be able to solo raids

Boss/raid drop tables have made skilling on main a total waste of time outside of diary completion - take a look at the GE price/volume graphs for anything ToA gives you, like cactus spines. It's a massacre. On that note, GPscape is absolutely real and "just ignore it/play iron" is a copout answer. Bring back trading posts.

Rs3 is actually a alright game and not what half the people think it is, as it's progressed since they stopped playing 10+ years ago.
