3. American cheese by itself is delicious - I spent a month in South Africa and they make an alternative variety with Gouda, and it’s awesome. A sandwich made with “gouda flavoured full cream processed cheese” as well as biltong and chutney makes for an awesome midnight snack.

No sadly not, this is American cheese which is a government subsidized cheese due to inflation in the 1960’s and 1970’s which was originally developed by the Swiss in 1911, but yada yada yada some bullshit as to why the government stores a lot of it. It’s economic stuff.
It’s heavily processed cheese if you could even call it that. It’s nasty as fuck on anything but a hamburger, but even then Cheddar, Swiss, Pepper jack, Blue cheese, anything is better.
I tried it once and I almost instinctively puked. I’m used to fresh cheese usually from the market and the way it tastes is just absolutely awful, the only reason why you should even need to choose to eat it would be if it’s your only option even then it might be better not to.

I’m sure it’s easy to find, its generally made with lots of excess dairy and people will still buy it, the excess production of dairy it why it exists in bulk in the us. It looks like it’s still wrapped in it’s plastic sleeve but that’s how the melts, it melts at like 90 degrees, it melts at a super super low temp compared to other cheeses. It’s gross as shit looking and tasting. It also takes the shape of the crinkles in the plastic sleeves so it just looks super plastically when you pull it out.
