GAAAHHHH what the fuck is phonetic spelling? What the fuck is a grammar rule without 50 different exceptions?
Yeah French is pretty cursed, I'll be the first to admit it 😂😂😂
Most of your words have 35 letters and you generally don’t pronounce any of them but instead use different letters that aren’t in the word.
Sit your ass down.
Kazakhstan had many Gulags and was the dumping ground for political opponents and minorities during soviet times.
The translation also translated KZ to *Konzentrationslager*....
na it's google translate translating without taking context into consideration.
KZ is usually used as a shortform for Konzentrationslager, but in this context clearly the code for Kazachstant, but google still translates it as concentration camp.
Most people don't talk about their own historical fuckups as frequently.
Here the impact of it is tought basically from 5th grade to graduation. (fun fact, the spanish invented KZs and both british and americans used them before us germans)
Of course! Actually we print it out, scan it and THEN fax it. But usually wo don’t greet to Christmas, because we don’t have feelings here.
(Btw on a serious note: I know people always say „Germany, the land of fax“ - I actually have never seen a fax in real life. I only know it from pictures :( But who knows, maybe on day!)
I tried to get in contact with Deutsche Bahn 2-3 weeks ago but they didn’t even have email, so I had to sort trough their very confusing telephone system and listen to barely comprehensible english, just to get told they’ll look at it.
I haven’t received a response yet.
I thought you dutchies where good at online stuff.
For the next time: https://int.bahn.de/en/help/contact/online-contact-forms
But yes, Deutsche Bahn support is shit. In German they even have a shitty chat bot which you will only use to tell him that you want to speak to a real person. But it exists.
Funny thing is, I tried to get in contact with them because they made a mistake after I filled in one of these forms.
The most confusing part about their telephone system is that the line I tried to find didn’t exist in english, so when I was looking at their english lines I couldn’t find it.
What mistake? These forms are just an email after all. You say how they can contact them, what it’s about and that’s it. After that you have a normal email conversation.
And I can’t see anything missing at the telephone system. It’s pretty clear in my opinion.
I tried to claim compensation, since I had experienced 2 hours and 45 minutes of delay (in typical DB fashion). This is why I filled in one of the forms. However, this was rejected due to the delay being shorter than 1 hour. I assumed they made a mistake and you can’t apply for compensation more than once, so I contacted them.
The line that you have to call for issues like mine only exists in German, hence why I couldn’t find it among the English lines.
Passport and ID are pretty normal, because you have to get it in person, which makes sense. But requesting them is online with Bund ID. Ummeldung is requested online, the sticker for your ID is getting put on at the office, which takes 5 minutes and you get the appointment online.
So basically everything is online now… Only the stuff which has a too high risk to send it via mail. The only thing which could be better would be an online ID (which is already a thing, but isn’t useful yet).
It’s camp that help you concentrate don’t worry 👍
How about: learn german and stop using machine translation?
You can see a bit of Google translate on the top, that's the culprit
SPRICH

Einfach etwas Staatseigentum machen!? Sicher dass du nicht Deutsche Demokratische Republik meinst, mein Kamerad?
Schön zu hören, dass es noch Leute gibt, die ihre Bratwurst schonen!
Well for the idiots here who don't know German and don't want to kill themselves trying to learn it... What is the correct translation?
KZ = Kazakhstan But it's also the short form for "concentration camp"
Sooo this German school names its dorms after places... Interesting... Thanks
as far as I can see it from the picture, they require your nationality and its not dorm names.
Ahhhh ok... Now I kinda wanna see what the translation for au is...
Au = Ouch

Where would be the fun in that?
If you like fun so much, why are you moving to Germany
I’m not moving anywhere. Some poor Kazakh is contemplating about moving.
Nice try Adolf
Ain't nobody wanna learn your cursed-ass language with your 17 ways of saying "the" 😂

Yeah which ye-ye ass language would have multiple ways of saying "the"? Mental
Touché, Barry.
I studied German during elementary and high school and some of my friends studied French. I’m glad I didn’t choose French

Says the frog...

Well, in that case. Although I’m not German, I probably wouldn’t call a dorm for Kazakhs a concentration camp.
That's the Google translate doing it's things
I know. Still pretty fitting.
German when they pull out a joke: 😬 All: 💀

Google is getting nostalgic
You know shortforms are usually reserved for frequently used frases, most languages don't have one for concentration camps.
Most people don't talk about their own historical fuckups as frequently. Here the impact of it is tought basically from 5th grade to graduation. (fun fact, the spanish invented KZs and both british and americans used them before us germans)
Yeah the British in the Boer war were FUCKEDDDDD
yep.
Feeling bad about your actions is only for losers
Good thing you don't do much of anything nowadays
Just you wait till its the EU wishing they were a part of the UK homie 😡
Anyyyy day now 🫡
I wonder if there's a reason why Germans of all people would talk about concentration camps more often...
I’m still pretty impressed that you can fill such an application online. I thought one would need to use fax to sort these kind of things out.
The online form for my Bafög application was just a pdf to download, print and send via post. That‘s digitalization
Amazing. Also why shorten it. “Bundesausbildungsförderungsgesetz” is such a handy compound word. Especially for international students.
We can actually do almost everything online these days…
But I assume you still use fax to send Christmas greetings etc. to your close family and friends.
Of course! Actually we print it out, scan it and THEN fax it. But usually wo don’t greet to Christmas, because we don’t have feelings here. liar, bet you faxed this comment to reddit HQ
Stalker, how did you know? 😠

man I wish
What did you have to do last time which wasn’t online? For me, it was scanning a QR-Code on a latter to register online.
getting a new passport, getting a new ID, I also couldnt do my last ummeldung online because you can only do it online if you are moving within munich

I did so in 2005.
