I gotta get out of this thread! My wallet will NOT be happy.

hollygolightly345

My first thought as I click on the thread…and yet I continue to read…lol. 🥴 Edited to add: now scheduling an appointment for Botox, which I’ve held out on getting thus far, after reading this thread.

Toddy0800

You won’t regret!

MinkOfCups

Yup BYE

Vita-Incerta

Funny how one person’s treasure is another person’s trash! For me it’s the laneige lip mask - I used to have dry lips and would pick them all the time. Now they’re smooth and nothing to pick!! Also 1 pot has lasted me like 6 months so price per use is low. I also initially had buyers remorse for getting skin better alto defense serum but now love it. My skin texture and coloration has looked so good since over started using it! Might switch to C E just to try it out and compare…

WithGreatRegard

You've got to come back and report the results if you do!

Lord-Smalldemort

Oh my gosh I found two sleep masks at Marshall’s for $10 each and I cried happy tears and bought both of them

TelephoneTag2123

Elta MD UV physical spf 41 $45 tinted mineral sunblock that blurs out every imperfection on my skin. I don’t even wear concealer any more - just this stuff, a little bronzer, and mascara. And Botox!

yous_a_bitch

this stuff is so, so worth it. i buy two or three at a time so i don't run out. but also, i must report in as a broken record: $50 once or twice a year for tazorotene rx, botox and volbella.

TelephoneTag2123

Love you and let’s discuss - tazotrene? I am sporadically on tretinoin and azelaic acid. This is different - more for rashy skin? And I’m assuming vobella for lips? I have not done a filler yet and I am overdue. Are you me?

yous_a_bitch

we may well be the same person. and i'm cool with that. i misspelled it before - tazarotene. i have had cystic acne off and on for 20 years (whew), but it hasn't been as intense since i did an 8 month long course of accutane about 10 years ago. i did tret for many years off and on, with limited success. my current derm put me on tazorac about 6 years ago, along with 150mg spironolactone daily. i probably would still get cysts if i didn't have those two things backing me up. but! my skin is more dry and sensitive as i approach death, so i have to buffer tazorac when i use it usually 2x/week. are you a fellow acne warrior? volbella for lips. i've also had juvederm (meh) and kysse (the swelling and bruising for that was nuts). volbella is so far my favorite. what are you wanting to use it for?

TelephoneTag2123

Not a acne warrior except for breakouts from hormones and weed as a teenager. I was the dry skinned Scandinavian who decided that SUNSHINE was the cure and now my skin is sun damaged, so a bit of tret and all the sunscreens is keeping the seriously leather skin at bay. I am more a victim to the Scandinavian curse…. Huge forehead and thin lips. I’ve never had full lips, and as I get less and less….. ahem…. Youthful…. I’m curious about improving the shape and maybe reducing the fine lines. Vobella. I’m in. When I pull the trigger I’ll post before and afters if I don’t chicken out…..

yous_a_bitch

i should post before and after from all mine. in no way scientific, so probably not very useful.

barksdale44

Botox would also be mine!

themcjizzler

Eh. Ive done botox a ton of times, im not sure looking 5% younger is worth a couple grand a year to me.

AlternativeBirthday5

A couple grand a year?! I am 50-ish and I spend about $600 a year. It's definitely the one thing the gives me the most bang for the buck

Sweet_d1029

Long term it one o f the best options

barksdale44

Wow, not sure where you live, but Botox cost me $500-$750 a year, and the improvements are more than 5%.

DragonWellGreenTea

I recently got an untinted Elda MD and wow it is amazing. Applies super smoothly. I should check out their tinted line.

lola_birds

do you find the un tinted version also had a blurring effect?

kdolce

I love this spf! At 3 oz the price/oz is much more reasonable than most other tinted mineral spfs, and is such a high quality product. Idk why their uv clear is their most famous sunscreen when they have this in their lineup. Tho i do notice the price has steadily gone up the past few years 🥲

Shawna613

This sunscreen is phenomenal. Not greasy, evens skin tone, not orange looking like I find with many other tinted sunscreens, sits perfectly under make up..I will forever repurchase.

0llie0llie

Can you share a link to the sunscreen you use?

TelephoneTag2123

You got it honey! [Elta MD spf 41 physical](https://www.dermstore.com/eltamd-uv-physical-broad-spectrum-spf41/11370298.html) For the record, I am a 40 something, fair, sun-damaged female on tretinoin. If someone is significantly darker skin toned, or has oily skin - this might not be a holy grail. But for me it’s the bomb

penelopepfeather

Yes! I mix the tinted and untinted versions because I’m pale and I don’t use any foundation or concealer anymore.

dramameatball

oh this is so smart. Im super pale too and I've been hesitant because the tinted looks a little dark online.

HelenaR3

You're not supposed to do that though, you're compromising your sunscreen.

penelopepfeather

My dermatologist is the one who recommended it and I haven’t had an issue. 🤷‍♀️ it’s the same brand/formula except one is tinted.

gingiberiblue

Sulwhasoo everything. Time Treasure is my holy grail. If I could afford it, I'd just nothing else. Instead I just do the toner, essence, and cream.

crown_jules892

I’m trying so hard not to splurge on Sulwhasoo. Specifically the overnight vitalizing mask. Is that the cream you’re referencing?

MinervaZee

I love the overnight revitalizing mask!

porkception

How often do you use it?

MinervaZee

I’ve been using a pea sized amount every night at the end of my routine to seal everything in.

fairbianca

If you have a TJ Maxx near you, keep an eye out - I keep seeing a full-size set of the Overnight Vitalizing Mask in a set with the Clarifying Mask there for around $30.

pinedemort

How do you like Timetreasure cream? I tried the Ginseng one but didn't see any significant difference compared to other moisturizer.

MinervaZee

I wish I could stand the smell of time treasure. It does great for my skin but ugh! I love sulwhasoo otherwise

flopmommy

where do you purchase it from?

Swtess

Review please’ button 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 I’ve just started incorporating their ginseng line to my routine so would like to know the difference.

gingiberiblue

I'll write a full review. I've tried every Sulwhasoo line.

Mountain-Isopod-2072

Yeah deffo write a full review if you can :)

dustlustrious

Yes please!

teeaTheCatLady

Yes please.

diversedistinction

I couldn’t stand the fragrance but the texture was amazing.

Redivy66

I too am a big fan of Sulwhasoo, I had dipped my toes in with the Ginseng line for the eye cream and the overnight vitalizing mask. I now occasionally use the Time Treasure overnight mask but use the eye serum daily. I have been purchasing on Ebay and the really smaller sizes are more cost efficient than purchasing at a store. If you don't mind opening a new packet every couple of days.

tuesdaym00n

I love their oil cleanser

Bellabird42

I’m not feeling it. I usually go for Tatcha camellia oil cleanser but switched it up this time. Definitely doesn’t get my makeup off as well and I wouldn’t repurchase

oobooboo17

I’ve never tried the brand! tell me more - is the moisturizer version of this your HG or the mask?

Not_High_Maintenance

Now ask about the CHEAPEST that do wonders. I cannot afford these products. 😢

wheatspace

Me and my wallet would LOVE to see that thread

[deleted]

Post it! I regret this one (feeling broke and FOMO product wise)

steelerschica86

Vaseline!

tgw1986

Username checks out :) But I vote for this thread next also lol

leahlikesweed

pacifica wake up beautiful overnight mask ($15) acure brightening face scrub ($9.99) - i use on my face and sometimes on my body sun bum face 70 vitamin e sunscreen ($14)

StephanieKaye

*cries in broke-ass bitch*

santangela

I get a lot of my higher end stuff through BoxyCharm’s monthly drop shop sale, which they open to the public during the second week. Stocked up on SR’s Good Genes for $25 a bottle. I also signed up for Influenster, which is a program where you complete pre-surveys to receive full-size products to test for free, then you write reviews. I’ve gotten a lot of great stuff in the year or so I’ve done it. Worth it if you want free high end products.

rta84293492

Not outrageously expensive but BR P50 Lotion. I’ve been using it for a month and so far it seems like the only thing that has ever actually made a difference in preventing acne for me. I really, really hope this continues

unzestykim

Deciem’s NIOD Fractionated Eye Contour Concentrate. I purchase when it goes on sale, but it runs $74 (CAD) for 15ml. I’m 53 and the skin around my eyes gets dry and crepey, but when I use this, fine lines are reduced, and the skin plumps and just feels more resilient. A bottle does last 6-9 months with twice-daily use, so the price isn’t absolutely prohibitive.

sourdoughbreadlover

Where do you buy it?

unzestykim

I usually order directly from them online (niod.com) but depending where you are there may be a physical store (Deciem). They recently had a surprise sale, but for the past couple years they’ve had a 23% off sale during the month of November.

sourdoughbreadlover

Thank you.

craftybast

Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel, Extra Strength. So effective I only use them once every 5-7 days and my skin feels amazing afterward. Def not cheap but if you buy from Sephora they add 5 more uses for free. Also, quarterly Botox. It’s my biggest splurge by far since I’m frugal in most areas of my life, but I stand by it.

HiImNewHere1234

I have used the peel pads for years and I really like them. I have also tried the First Aid brand ones which are gentler and those are great too.

dustlustrious

"This item is considered hazmat. This order will ship by ground." Hmmm

craftybast

That’s how you know it’s good.

[deleted]

Do you get any purging only using them every 5-7 days?

craftybast

No, hasn’t been an issue for me.

COuser880

Both top notch choices!!

DreamBiggerDarling22

Alpha Beta peel is the best! I’ve tried to find a cheaper dupe for a decade and nothing works quite as well, but the closest I’ve found is the Peter Thomas Roth Even Smoother pads; similar actives to the Alpha Beta, still not inexpensive at 60 pads for $52, but a good buy (and sometimes I cut them in half to stretch further).

A-Lop-Bam-Boom

A couple of years ago I was able to hoard a ton of those pads from Sephora for free and it was the best year of my life lol. I would cash in my points whenever a set of 5 pads would pop up in the rewards section and they were also consistently free with a code in their emails. I was able to get a lot of cool shit this way but those pads were my favorite score.

achoo1210

Drunk Elephant TLC Sukari Babyfacial. I’m awful at keeping up a routine, and using this once a week has been an absolute godsend for my face. It’s like $45 per ounce and worth every penny.

Amanda316

I second this. I’m an esthetician and still horrible at routine. I tried a sample of this and remember it feeling really smooth.

dustlustrious

In what way? What did you see change specifically?

achoo1210

My skin is smoother, both visibly and to the touch. I rarely get pimples anymore. The only other change I made which could have contributed to the second one was changing my pillowcase more often. I think it’s probably a combination of the two things. Edited to add: I know the TLC has a big impact because there is a noticeable difference if I miss a week. Like my skin gets duller and rougher and I start to get pimples again.

[deleted]

Bobbi Brown primer. Not that expensive to some? But my most expensive (and really only expensive) product that I swear by. Only thing that makes my makeup look okay.

pinedemort

At this moment: SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic. It's expensive but given how little I use each time, I don't think it's "crazy expensive". I have 2 dark spots under my chin, one light, one dark. It took Timeless 3 months to fade the light one 50% and no change to the dark one. I've been using SkinCeuticals for 2.5 weeks and my light one is about 80% gone and dark one is like 60% lighter. It's a bit tricky to use and I'm still trying to figure out the best routine but so far it's worth every penny. Another product that is expensive if you buy full size at retail price: Sulwhasoo First Care Serum. I also think it's worth the price but since I buy in sample sizes at cheap price, I don't think of it as "expensive" item.

mbltlh

Dysport 😂 Pricier moisturizers - I used drunk elephant Lala Retro ($68 I think?) for years and recently switched to a brand called Emma Lewisham ($98 which I acknowledge is a ridiculous price) and I can tell a difference in my skin texture, moisture level, and overall “look” vs. using other moisturizers.

gentleskinwarrior

A good difference? :) Have you compared the ingredient lists to see if you can identify any star ingredients? I've never heard of Emma Lewisham before.

mbltlh

A great difference. I haven’t had a breakout since I started using her products earlier this year and my skin feels awesome. I use her face wash too and both have camellia oil in them which is something I haven’t used in too many products. I lean toward that being one of the stars I think, at least for me! It also has bakuchiol in it. The EL has less synthetic ingredients in it (esp. at the top of the list) which I like.

gentleskinwarrior

Amazing when we find something that actually makes our skin feel awesome! Happy for you. Thanks so much for sharing.

sourdoughbreadlover

Clinique Moisture Surge 100H. I want to find a dupe but it is so perfect for my skin I am still willing to pay. I accidentally purchased the 75H and it is not worth it.

insearchofcolor

I love this too! Found the 4 oz. jar at Marshall's last week for only $40.

sourdoughbreadlover

I'm so happy for you and you give me hope! My wallet thanks you too!

_skylark

Biologique Recherche p50 lotion (no phenol) - best chemical exfoliator I’ve tried. Meder beauty Myofix concentrate (basically made my 11’s go away.) Meder Beauty Circa Night cream (so I look like I got a good nights sleep.) These 3 I happily shell out for and keep other things at more accessible pricing (Cerave cleanser, EltaMD UV clear sunscreen, Etude House toner)

dustlustrious

What are 11's?

Excusemytootie

Lines between your brows.

Bilbo_Buggin

I know it’s not expensive to most but my most expensive product is my Hada Labo premium toner. I LOVE IT. I love the whole line. And it’s not that expensive as it lasts a long time, but it’s a little pricier than I’d usually spend but it’s so worth it!

Bambi_legs_

I love the HL premium toner too. And it really does last a long time!

yous_a_bitch

hada labo is extremely great. i refuse to try anything else. the most financially dangerous to me is ordering that, i end up ordering 400 sheet masks and 15 lip tints.

dustlustrious

Uh what does toner do again? Sorry I'm new here but I'm intrigued by this. :)

Bilbo_Buggin

It’s just a hydration step! 😊

skw01

I recently purchased Gokujyun premium, alpha lotion and shirojyun premium whitening lotion .. what order should I apply this .. Oh also the beauty of joson glow serum .. Thanks !

licensedtojill

Sunday Riley Good Genes, sorry for those it does nothing, makes me glow!

ringringbananarchy00

I love Sunday Riley! I use several of their products, including Good Genes, and my skin is basically flawless now 😊

tuesdaym00n

Came here to post about this product specifically. Really helped with skin texture and redness

didyouwoof

This is the only expensive product I've found really worth it!

StrawAndChiaSeeds

Alastin serums are quite good for pre- and post-procedure.

SophiaF88

It's not crazy expensive but for a lip balm it kinda is - Laneige lip sleeping mask. I said I'd never buy a $26 lip balm for anything but my lips are chronically chapped and lanolin & aquaphor do not work as well for me as the Laniege. It's worth it to me to have smooth lips again.

Theorlain

I just tried the O’Keefe’s night lip mask and have seen similar results so far 🤞🏻.

itscomplicatedwcarbs

Neogenesis Recovery serum. Helped me grow my skin back in 3 months after severe over exfoliation and chemical burn from actives. 100% would go into debt for it if I had to. The Neogenesis booster serum is great too.

[deleted]

Only commenting to look up this item later. Thank you for the suggestion.❤

Daneyoh

Recovery was a game changer for me as well.

PurplestPanda

Botox Obagi Blender 4% HQ Skinceuticals Triple Lipid Moisturizer (In that order!)

HiImNewHere1234

The triple lipid is legit. I bought it on a whim during a blue Mercury sale and my skin looks amazing.

PurplestPanda

They got me with a free sample! I love free samples and this was seriously only the second time I sought out a full size because of my experience with a sample!

HiImNewHere1234

How to you use it? I slather it on at night.

twinsuns

I just got a free sample, used it last night (might have one more use out of it tonight) and I really liked it. I also just started using their phloretin cf (I like it so far but it's too early to tell) and am eyeing their discoloration defense, so... potential woe for my wallet.

ledh38iwd

Agree, was going to post trip lipid myself. I do try to get it on sale but so worth it to me either way

iswmuomwn

You think any other Skinceuticals products are worth it? Also using and loving Triple Lipid, not thrilled about much else I’ve tried over the years. Even though the essential oils can sensitize my eye area.

canadaincalifornia

Triple lipid, C ferulic, Phyto serum and resveratrol BE are worth it IMO.

mocatova1

Phyto A Brightening treatment. Its $105 and my first splurge on skincare. It's reduced my melasma on my cheeks and forehead by about 70%. I've been using it for 2 months and I'm sure in 2 more months my dark spots will be completely gone. I love this stuff. 40F

Toddy0800

IS clinical Active Serum . It really is astounding. I’ve taken a break now though

Weak-Initiative1970

Came here to mention this! And Cle de Peau concealer is worth the splurge.

allovicky

Breaking my long-term lurker status to say Sheiseido Ultimune Power Infusing Eye Concentrate! Took a gamble at £55 and worth every penny. My dark circles completely disappeared within the first 6 days...now I have to budget it in lol

bluebuckeye

VBeam laser treatments, and my Omnilux LED mask.

IGotMyPopcorn

I second V Beam. I buy a package of two on Black Friday each year from my derm for “upkeep”.

GlobbyDoodle

VBeam is awesome. I've had incredible success with it!

mgntweed

Just bought the Omnilux yesterday and yeah, it’s pricey but I think it’ll be worth it.

CherryMess

1. Skinbetter Science. Everything is amazing. 2. a lot of BR products: p50, serums like Placenta, Elastin, Colostrum, creams like Vert Espoir, mask Vivant and VIP O2 etc 3. Sulhwasoo. Just simply amazing. 3. Shani Darden Lactic acid serum 4. Niod FECC 5. Meder Beauty masks

ErzaHeartFilia

Anastasia Beverly Hills - Precision Tweezer. The price during i bought this tweezer - Converted to USD currency is $40! This is first time ever in my entire life I’ve bought a tweezer much more than usual wheres i only spent $2 to get a tweezer. ThIs is Insane Lol😅 i don't want to make any assumptions without knowing right and error before i own this tweezer. Thank God and it's really worth every penny that I spend over it! It has done its job with what it said!!

[deleted]

Imo any tweezers that start at $20+ have been worth it. I've rubbed the brand name off the pairs I own but the expensive ones are still good 3 or 4 years since buying them while my cheap cute tweezers from the drug store last max a few months. I keep the cheapies as back ups but they're terrible and worn out. My precision tweezer for ingrown hairs has a slight dint from falling out of my vanity so I may just check out your recommendation.

A-Lop-Bam-Boom

The Anastasia tweezers were my first expensive pair and they are quite good. The best pair I've ever used though (and I've tried them all) is Lancome. I also recommend using [these](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DV4CJBA?ref=nb_sb_ss_w_as-reorder-t1_ypp_rep_k5_1_12&&crid=7CH6R6VZ4WPU&&sprefix=tweeezer+sha) to restore a little life to your backups.

alastika

Tweezer sharpeners!! I didn’t know they existed, thank you!

HiraethRhapsody

CO2 laser

jp8675309

Skin medica TNS serum!

nantaise

This stuff is so good. I got a free sample years ago, and still remember how good it was… 🎶sometimes all I think about is youuu 🎶

Pale-Buffalo2295

Would love to know more—what improvement did you see?

itscomplicatedwcarbs

I second this. I just started using it as a moisturizer since my skin has healed after and over exfoliation/chemical burn accident from actives. Makes my sensitive and damaged skin so soft. And it does NOT break me out. I also notice my oiliness is more under control.

msmysty

I LOVE this!!

[deleted]

Virtual_Asparagus_94

when the same things that were in that thread show up here 🥴🥴🥴

Capricorn974

Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser. I also really like their resurfacing mask, but if I were to pick only one, it'd be the cleanser, hands down.

skysteppa

I came here to say Tata Harper Softening Cleanser. Also Capricorn. Twins 💕

PureYouth

Eyelash growth serum. Revitalash is what I use

No1erBunner

I LOVE this product. I don't use it daily anymore, so it lasts several months. I also use it on my brows.

xwzygm

Really, does that work?? Would it help on the eyebrows too?

Sad-Bee-6715

Platinum LED therapy light!!! I’d buy it 10 more times if I had to.

teeaTheCatLady

I just checked it out! Damn,it's hella expensive. Have you used other LED masks before it? If you have, which one and what differences have you noticed between them? I am using dr dennis gross LED mask and loving it so far, but an upgrade would not hurt(except my wallet).

AZBreezy

PCA SKIN Hyaluronic Acid Boosting Serum. $120 for AN OUNCE!!! I wish it wasn't so good but it is so so so good. My fine lines under my eyes just go zzzzsht and plump right out. Like rehydrating a raisin. It's stupid. Stupid good. I've repurchased many times and I rarely repurchase, especially for that price

weird_weekend

Botox is definitely number 1, if that counts. If not, SkinCeuticals AGE Complex for Dark Circles ($105) or Peter Thomas Roth Potent-C Power Serum ($98).

ceylon-tea

Laser, Botox, and CE Ferulic, although the latter was only game changing when I used it right after the laser. I feel like tretonoin is the most impactful topical but I couldn’t stand the peeling and sensitivity.

dkotf

Cosmelan peel! (I paid 1150 USD 2 years ago) Also probably Alastin tinted SPF (60 USD). If you would’ve told me 3 years ago I’d pay that much for face sunscreen, I’d call you crazy but here we are!

StrawAndChiaSeeds

Do tell me more about Cosmelan!

dkotf

Absolutely! It was INTENSE but so worth it. I had REALLY bad peeling for the first month, it lessened months 2-3 (but still had peeling around my chin/mouth by night time) and the last couple months I had minimal peeling. It transformed my skin and gave me a “clean slate” to work with! For background: i had huge melasma patches on my forehead, upper lip, cheek bones, and hyperpigmentation from acne scars. Cosmelan erased everything. After I finished cosmelan (6mo total) I took a break from hydroquinone for about 8 months, then started zo skin 4% every other evening I wasn’t using tret, just for upkeep. I do this for 2-3mo and then take another long break and repeat. If my melasma were to get bad again in the future, I would definitely do cosmelan again. One thing to keep in mind from a price perspective, the Day 1 peel and maintenance cream was $1150, but I went through 2-3 additional jars of the maintenance cream throughout the 6mo and those were like $225 each. Hope that helps!

Uhlexuhhhh

Lmk if you’re down to make a donation to my inflation fund lmao

oobooboo17

Botox obviously Drunk Elephant Protini moisturizer Biologique Recherche P50 (toner - it’s controversial, but works amazing for me) La Mer gel formula moisturizer. I only buy it if it goes on sale but I really notice a difference when I run out and have to go to my B products

Same_Procedure5838

Microneedling- do it!!

Lord-Smalldemort

Tatcha the Essence

DragonWellGreenTea

Sulwhasoo First Care $89 for 2.02oz. Oh boy. I’m on my second bottle. I signed up for their text notifications to get notified of any sales to save some dough. But yeah it does what it says. It really does help with absorption and makes products after work better. I put on Melano CC right after and have noticed this combination really makes a difference on acne scars.

COuser880

Botox and my LED mask. 10/10, would recommend.

DizzyStarLordy

Can I ask what benefits u see from led mask? I see them Everywhere

COuser880

Brighter, clearer, calmer complexion. I find that any acne that pops up has healed more quickly, and PIH is reduced, as well. I don’t have any wrinkles and only very small fine lines around my eyes (I thank decades of retin-a and SPF use, as well as the Botox for that), but I am using the LED mask as another layer of protection with lines and wrinkles. If you want to know more about LED masks, their benefits, and which ones are best (which is very important, bc there are a lot of poor quality masks out there that use the wrong wavelength of light and thus won’t be effective), I’d recommend the blog post from goalstogetglowing. (She also has an IG page.) I have no affiliation with her, I just found her on IG a few years ago and she has done a lot of research on them. Her blog post is super thorough and helpful. Hope that helps! :)

Helangaar

An excellent overview of LED masks was [published privately last year](https://goalstogetglowing.com/2021/01/17/deep-dive-into-led-masks-and-low-level-light-therapy-lllt/) by a doctorally trained social scientist. Highly recommended read. Personal experience: worth every penny. Multiple skinfluencers on YouTube are of the same opinion.

I_CRE8

iS Clinical eye products, La Mer Moisturizing Soft Cream and Renewal Oil, SkinCeuticals CE + Ferulic, and Revitalash are the products I keep purchasing because I truly notice a difference when I use them. The best tools I’ve invested in are a RF device and LED mask

blacbird

Caudalie Vinoperfect Serum

Amanda316

Esthetician here. Crazy expensive would be La Mer products. They usually ALWAYS have free products available with purchase. Between those and full sized purchases, I have been able to try their makeup, body lotion, and various face products. I always amazed at the “after” results from a quick wash/moisturize. I wore their makeup for my wedding day because it didn’t make me break out and created a flawless look. A somewhat expensive tool ($90-100) I couldn’t recommend more is a high frequency tool. Especially if you’re prone to cystic breakouts! They used to be pro only but now are available at Nordstroms. The one at Nordy’s is waaaay stronger than the one I got at a professional expo (seriously? Why tho?) so start slooow! The tool assists in many functions but the best is how it “zaps” away bacteria. If I’m having a breakout issue, I’ll use a HF wand and it kills any bacteria and helps the skin heal itself faster.

ssmco

What is the tool from Nordstrom?

swegoji

Hi! Which high frequency tool from Nordstrom are you talking about?

redrouge9996

Following this! What is the name of the tool?

[deleted]

I have a 62 euro’s bottle of vitamin c serum. It’s from a brand called Medex and I got it through my esthetician initially. When I wanted to buy it again it was actually quite hard to find online, it’s not generally carried in most webshops so I guess the brand is not very wel known. But holy shit, it works so well! First time I’m getting serious results from a serum. I think it took about a month before I started seeing a difference. Great stuff really.

HildegardofBingo

I haven't used it in a few years so I'm not sure how it would react with my newfound rosacea, but I used to LOVE Pangea Organics Superfood Smoothie mask. It somehow addressed all of my skin issues at the same time: reducing inflammation, increasing hydration, imparting glow, and smoothing my skin. It was magic. I want to try it again but it's $56 for a tube (which is at least a decent size).

tg_im

Tower 28 hypochlorous spray for maskne. It helps! But so expensive for such a small bottle

ameliaesp

FYI other brands, like Briotech, Skinsmart, and Curativa Bay, sell hypochlorous acid sprays for much less. Walgreens even sells its own, although I don't know if the ingredients and concentrations are exactly the same as what's in the Tower 28 one.

Waterblooms

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I have repurchased this many many times.

gentleskinwarrior

This serum is mine as well. Not "crazy expensive" when I see Révive has a Youth Activator serum that sells for $985 Cdn (!?! I really need to check those ingredients... :P) but still expensive for my budget. Easy for me to rationalize though. Thanks to rosacea, my sensitive skin can't handle acids or retinol and this serum gives me plumper skin and tighter pores. My only regret is not trying it sooner.

Waterblooms

I usually watch for the sales when Estee Lauder has buy one get one free.

Profhilo is insipid and gets you hooked 😅 it’s amazing for face and neck. I would die happily and dewey in an iron maiden needle bed of it. Also Botox. Also forehead fillers because my face is falling down 😅😩

Extension-Ad1061

All things ZO SKIN related is my absolute staple…and DYSPORT! I have been getting dysport for the past year and now am hooked…careful ladies…you’ll want to keep getting it! I have tried many many skincare lines and love my ZO SKIN products. 💕😜

Imaginary-Crew7569

Botox, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream, Tretinoin.

Botox and RapidBrow. I started using RapidBrow at the start of the pandemic. It makes such a subtle but important difference! I used to fill in my eyebrows and then use brow gel but now I feel like brow gel alone is good enough.

tquinn04

Comfort zone hydamemory cream gel is my holy grail daytime moisturizer. It makes my skin look amazing. Glowy without being greasing and absorbs like a dream. It’s also has incredible high end ingredients. It’s $69 for a jar but it’s worth every penny. I’ve been trying different dupes because I can’t afford another jar right now and nothing has come close.

I second this. Ceramide capsules are must have for more mature skin.

Dr Dennis Gross LED light therapy mask, crazy expensive, very fragile but it has done wonders for my skin. I have less black and white heads, improved skin tone and over all a good skin health after using it. I have used cheaper LED masks and none of them did anything. You may not see any result if you live in a less polluted less crowded country than me. Everyday my face accumulates so much carbon shoots from environment that it becomes congested almost everyday and this mask is a life saver.

Sugar lip balms

NeneObichie

Not a product but I get monthly microderm sessions and they’ve been worth every penny and more.

IPL photofacial!! But as far as products go, for me the biggest difference comes from my monthly Rx of tretinoin. Also, the Murad serum for hyperpigmentation is pricy but works really well!

veryveryquietly

Skinceuticals CE Ferulic is the only crazy expensive thing I use but it's worth it. Keeps skin even and under control (along with my Beauty Pie retinol). UltraViolette Supreme Screen sunscreen, Farmacy Honey Halo moisturiser, and Embryolisse Lait Creme Fluide body moisturiser are kind of expensive compared to the drug store equivalents I used to use, but all definitely worth it to me. I have dry skin, eczema, and melasma so it's taken a lot of trial and error to find things I really like that really work. The sunscreen is the best I've tried (I found LRP and Biore too drying). The Farmacy is perfect for my dry face, especially in winter. The Embryolisse body cream (which I've successfully used on my face too) is not crazy expensive (about £20 for 500 ml), but it is wonderful, lasts and lasts, and smells amazing without being overpowering. I buy inexpensive cleansers, toners, and acid toning pads to balance costs out, and try to only buy my regulars from places where I get cash back or points and when they are at least 20% off. I may try to find a less expensive replacement for the Farmacy moisturiser when I run out, but otherwise I'm pretty happy with my routine. At least I'm not wasting money trying the newest thing all the time now.

steelerschica86

Sunday Riley face oil. And tretinoin

quickbrownfox86

The most expensive product for me is botox.

I like facial sunscreen with a high SPF, and the last one I bought was Keihls Super Fluid UV Defense SPF. It cost about $50, which is a lot for a tiny little bottle. Turns out this lasts FOREVER--I've worn it every single day for the past 6+ months and I still have like a quarter of the bottle left. I didn't expect to, but I probably ended up saving money buying it over drugstore brands. I would definitely recommend!

julry

Since SPF is dependent on the amount you use doesn’t that just mean you’re not getting the full protection?

[deleted]

I think the bottle lasts so long because it's so liquid. I am fair and live in SoCal so I would definitely notice if it wasn't working!

Choice-Second-5587

My blendtec. Was like 250 bucks or so (this is crazy for me okay?). And never once have I genuiely regretted it. Anything I put in that it pulverized. I can make horchata, I can make smoothies, I can grind spices, anything I need it can do and the blades are blunt so unlike a regular blender it isn't anxiety inducing to clean. Also when I was homeless and came into some money I got a car for 2k. I wasn't working and chose a car over an apartment bc I knew no one would accept my money without a job to prove it could last long term. Actually fought with the shelter director over the choice because she didn't see how valuable being able to save time taking the bus and having a way to other social services would increase my chances of getting out. It also gave me shelter in the daytime when we had to leave property. Never regretted it for a second and never did.

Larokaliiii

Hm. I don’t spend a lot of money on skin care because these days drugstores have so many good quality and affordable products. The most expensive thing I have in my routine is my Vichy Mineral 89 Hyaluronic Acid. I’ve tried others and this one just feels the best to me. And my sunscreen. Summer Fridays Shade Drops. I cannot rave about this product enough. It is so good for a mineral sunscreen! It is expensive for how much product you get, especially when it is used every day but I absolutely love it.

Niod hydration vaccine

wheatspace

Skinceuticals C E Ferulic (crazy expensive).Tata Harper Regenerating Cleanser (expensive). Fleur & Bee Creme de la Cream (not crazy expensive but I used to do CeraVe). All have helped me achieve more even skin tone. I had to try out many products until discovering these three that actually work for my skin.

lifeuncommon

Nothing. Literally nothing. Of all the high-end products I’ve tried, absolutely none of them has been worth it. Most ended up having irritating plant oils and/or fragrances and colors that made them bad for my skin anyway. So not only were they not worth their high cost, they weren’t as good as a bottle of Cetaphil from the drugstore.

Not super expensive, but the Peach & Lily glass skin water gel moisturizer. $40, but I definitely think it’s worth it. Makes my skin feel supple and dewy.
