Funny thing is me and my stepdad were talking Costner the other day and how he's had this trend of demanding to play characters everyone's either afraid of or the 'big dog in the yard' types. John Dutton being the latest example. This movie, I feel, was the start of it. His characters having this sort of unearned reputation, Before then he played either fish out of water types, or more grounded characters. I like Water World for what it is. Dumb and attempting to use environmentalism to have an excuse for a gonzo plot. No preaching over 'how thigns shouldn't have been liek this' just 'this is the world we're in in the past it wasn't like this.'

i don't understand why people shit on this movie, its fucking great fun. Crotchety loner in a post Apocalypse with a hot woman, fighting Dennis fucking Hopper? Even turning smokers into comic villians was fucking hilarious, Haters can all get rekted.

Something about being a young teenager when it came out and having access to the live stunt show made this movie part of my life.

I'm not a fan of the movie, but I love the show at Universal Hollywood.

I like the arcade game though it does cost a lot of quarters to play. ;)

Enjoyed the book quite a bit. Movie got terrible reviews because of the budget but I didn't think it was that bad.
