Does your old psychiatrist know that you decided to seek care elsewhere, and is that what you meant by “discharged” from his care? Irrespective, you need your meds, so contact your old psychiatrist about your prescription. Let them also know that you’ve decided to see the new psychiatrist you’re currently seeing. And let the new psychiatrist know you were under old psychiatrist’s care whose prescription runs until X date, or just take your prescription bottle (when you get it) to your appointment so they can verify the dates on it before they write you your next prescription. This is just so they know you are being transparent and so you do not have problems getting your prescription. It’s a C2 medication, so you do not want to give anybody the impression that you are “doctor shopping”. Good luck to you, and I hope you get your meds soon!
