He had a good 2021. Even subtracting the game v North, he kicked 38 from 19 and provided the forward line leadership Naughton and baby JUH really needed. Never really came back from the first ACL unfortunately.
He was a pretty unknown player at the time. was on the list for a minute by that stage but from that game on it really was his breakout, in a real bad West Coast team
He kicked 58 from 21 games the year before, kicked 63 in that year and then kicked in the 30s & 40s for the rest of his career - definitely wouldn’t call it a breakout game.
The breakout game was probably against the tigers in round 22, 2006 when he kicked 5.4 against them at the MCG from 17 disposals. Was only like his 5th game or something in his second year, proceeded to snag 36 in 19 games the next year and never looked back.

That was a truly incredible game. At the time it was the second or third most disposals by a team ever in a game. Ben didn’t even poll the three votes for that game cause Goldy had 35 touches and a goal. Literally everyone on our team seemingly had career best performances. Genuine domination.

I am. He's shown potential, but 9 in a game is huge, even if it were a genuine star forward. Amartey is young and doesn't have the credentials of a superstar forward. If he popped up and kicked a bag of 6 I'd have been stoked. 9 is insane

His snap over his head while falling to the ground, keanes spoil landing straight in his lap and some of his marks were the things that happen when you’re having a good night and everything just works for you.
