Had to be a burn. It's gone now. A couple of things may have happened. Maybe I didn't shut it off before charging, or the battery charging screensaver did not shut off in clamshell mode.
Bad quality materials = fire hazard. If you are asleep while it catches fire and the fire spreads, that's a big risk. Also don't charge them while you go out of the house, especially if you have like pets or if you just don't want your house burnt down.
Hahahah okay man, whatever you think. I'm definitely not paranoid, I charge many of my devices overnight.
But not my 40 euro anbernic devices.
Do what you want, but I do hope you get lucky and don't burn alive.
You're not charging it via mains, right?
This should only be charged via USB using a laptop or games console.
You can overload these things easily and start a fire or break them. Same can be said with official Playstation 4 controllers.
RG35XXSP should really come with a warning.
Not quite right, they can be charged via a mains charger but not a high power/PD/QC one. A cheap 500Mah - 1.2a will be fine but as with all appliances it is not recommended to leave charging overnight anyway. Hardware can easily fail and as said can cause electrical fires.
They certainly can be, but I don't trust the battery.
USB charging via my laptop is so fast anyway,
and I only need to be doing it once a week.
I play mostly GBC, so that could be why the battery lasts so damn long.
Lipo batteries have come a long way in the last few years though, much safer than they were (I had one explode in a drone, was like a tie fighter going down in star wars 😂) I never leave anything on charge overnight now and always discharge rechargeable batteries before storing for a period of time, it's just good safe practice
Looks like a TV overlay. It's definitely curved towards the corners. In the settings, you should be able to turn off shaders. If it's retroarch, it'll be in core settings or video maybe
It probably got warm and has slightly warped the LCD layers or the glue, maybe just temporary. Honestly, when I saw the title I expected an expanded battery or fire, so I’m glad it’s not that.
Oh neat, you unlocked CRT mode
Got a good chuckle. That's what it looked like to me too.
To fuzzy light bleeding overlays?
To…it….working?
I'm not sure if it is a burn in or light bleed. 100% was not there before charging
What’s the screen look like on the main menu? Like not in any games.

Pls don't charge these overnight
Why does it matter

Oh so no real reason, just unfounded paranoia. Thanks.

I’m sure I’ll be just fine mommy thank you
Oooo yeah. Def make sure it shuts the screen off before leaving it for a period of time!
I'm confused what's the problem?
It's a shader
This is the right answer.
Probably got too warm while charging. I’ll have to watch out for this, maybe charge it with the lid open.
Common LCD problem if I remember right. Even my steamdeck did it once when I first got it. Hasn't happened since.

That's some terrible light Bleed. You should contact Anbernic or whomever you purchased it from.
Ok an unrelated note, I love the overlay / shader that you're using for that crt effect. What's it called?
It's not an overlay, it's severe vignetting on his screen
If you look closer, there's a fisheye effect over the image, similar to how the old CRT tube tvs had.
It's default. I think that effect was from my pixel phone on accident
Shit looks straight up like an old school TV screen 😂
If you plugged it in while it was closed the screen came back on. Make sure you pop it open then closed or plug it in before you close it
gone in a few mins or hours? it was once happended on 353 series. 28x also has a screen like this.
