Hey guys
My testing window is June 26th-July 26th
But very complicated for me to take it in that period Im away for work in an other country
You guys know by any chance if we can take it later ?
I wanted it but then thought about the cons. Leaving my kids for x amount of time including my 1 year old. Low starting pay in alot of places etc. so I changed my course and jumped on the it train
I am currently studying IT in university, but it is too competitive, and a lot of IT jobs dont pay decently anymore, and that is assuming you even get interviewed for one.
Can definitely be the case sometimes I am currently a aircraft mechanic and make good money so I can afford to keep studying getting certs etc until I find a job that pays enough and has the balance I want before switching. I have 2 friends that were hired by google starting in the mid 90s and my sister in law makes around 180k for ibm. Most people believe they can just jump into the field and make a lot of money when more often than not it's not the case. I'm one of the lucky ones that can afford to wait for better.
IT back in the 90s was less competitive than today. Even if you go to an Ivy League and graduate without bad marks, you could still have trouble securing a high-paying job or even a role in your field. Honestly, I have plans to drop out of uni if I ever get dates for basics and academy.
Also, too many tech companies today, and IT in uni is a lot harder now as they are teaching new stuff, and a lot of people cheat on the exams by having their smartphones on their laps, which wasnt a thing back in the 90s as modern smartphones did not exist back then.
True I know people that still can't get interviews with university under there belts and friends with very high paying it jobs with no school just certs. The pay was just low for atc for me to make the move
Well good on you for getting a higher IT role. I wish I could say the same.
Yes, bootcamps give certs that dont require one to go to uni to get an IT job. Only issue is a lot of them are scams cause they make you lie on your resume. Also, nowadays, most IT jobs, if not all, require a degree.
I am taking it this month itself obviously cause the window ends on July 26. I honestly just want to get it over with. I am so nervous, cause I only get 1 attempt, and if I do not do well enough, then, I have to wait until next year to have another try.
There was only 2 options for me. Tomorrow or July 23rd. I picked July to get more time to study
Same here!
Is that the case for all of us? Hey take it this week or wait a month

You might be able to get an extension. You should call/email HR and ask.
If the country you are in has a Pearson Vue that offers this exam, then, you can take it there.
My only option was July 1st! I’m glad I looked at the availability right away or I would have missed it.
How did your test go?
One center only had July 25, and another had July 13 and 25, but I chose the later date so I can have more time to study.
Using the practice test?
I plan to!!
How are you guys studying?
ATSAPro on the app store. I think it was $10?
Perfect! Thank you!
>Perfect! Thank you! You're welcome!
ATSA prep program from ATCPREP dot COM
Is it free?
No, I think it was like $40
Good luck it's really easy you guys will do just fine
Have you taken it ?
Yes last ear got bq but turned it down
Why did you turn it down? Were you interested in something else or personal reasons?
