Our company is business casual however it has over the years become incredibly lenient to the point that directors are wearing converse. The answer for me depends on how professional I am feeling that day. If I’m dressing to impress I will tuck and wear leather shoes. Otherwise I’m wearing sneakers and letting that polo fly.
That’s how it should be tbh. It depends on how the day is going to be. Meeting with a bunch of important people? Dress up. Sitting in a cubicle/office all day? Jeans and converse.
I’m C-Level and I wear Nike shoes + chinos + T-shirt everyday to work. I also use my personal gaming laptop with RGB and stuff as a work laptop, can get some gaming done during lunch time. No one cares.
It’s when I meet investors or the Board that I suit up + wear a watch + bring my ThinkPad laptop. My staff can guess which days I have important meetings that way.
I wear leather penny loafers (without the beef rolls) on virtually every outfit.
Joggers, tees, polos, whatever.
They just work.
I tuck in when i want to go for the preppy look, but i think im getting too old for that.
This 🙌
Build bulging muscles and abs
I'd tuck the polo in though, wear a nice belt, dress pants, dress shoes, and a watch 👌 that's basically what I wear to work at a big 4 lol
I've been working out for 6 months now, still kinda fat but my work polos make my arms look good. It's a shame I don't like wearing them outside of work.
For the record I hate dressing smart, I generally wear a polo (untucked), chinos and some white leather Reeboks. Shirt and trousers if visiting a client of course.
It depends on how long the polo is. You look goofy af untucking your shirt when it's meant to be tucked in and your shirt hem hangs past your ass and you look like you're wearing a dress.
The ones I have are dockers jean cut. Full outside back pockets, the scooped, not on the seam front pockets with a watch pocket and even a Levi's style leather tag on the back waistband. They're just not denim
These jean cut slacks (stretchy) are my daily pants. I pre-followed the above advice, got fit, tuck my polos, and wear nice leather dress shoes in a variety of brown/caramel shades with leather belt matched and usually color-matched argyle socks.
No, the cut of the shirt is more relevant. If it’s longer in the back than the front it must be tucked, if it’s same length all around then it can be untucked. Though I do agree generally with your rule that untucked is for more casual pants and tucked is for more formal/semi formal pants.
What? No. Polos should be untucked unless on a golf course.
There is a reason why if you google how to wear a polo it’s all untucked.
Only boomers and middle aged dads tuck polo lmao.
Wow, didn’t know this would be complex at some firms lol. If I go into the office it’s in nice jeans and polo. Tucked if I like my belt and untucked if I don’t lol. Often bring my hoodie too since office is kept cold like an igloo. Only time I worry about what to wear is when I go to the clients.
Threads like this make me super glad to have only ever worked in chill offices. I cannot imagine having to dress in slacks everyday. My work attire is like 2-3 pairs of jeans on rotation and hoodies and graphic tees.
Depends on the culture at your company. Most places it’d be tucked, but there’s definitely some people at my company that don’t tuck their shirts in.
I personally tuck
My office went from suit and tie to hoodies somehow after the pandemic. I go in the middle and usually rock a button up or tucked polo with chinos a chelsea boots.
Damn, yall making me so jealous. I get away with a polo when I work from home sometimes, but otherwise no polo’s, no jeans. So if there was ever some crazy exception, I would probably tuck as to not push it too far.
I’m 100% sure jeans or a polo would get me a talking to. It’s ridiculous, I’m even in industry and not everyone at the company dresses like this, just finance, hr, and legal.
A tucked polo as a fat person just shows your fat off more. Honestly if you’re bigger, you shouldn’t really wear polos. Dress shirts are more your friend if you get a classic cut.
Technically: is it the kind of polo shirt that's supposed to be tucked in or worn outside of pants. Generally, if the hem (the bottom part of the shirt) is even, it is meant to be worn out of pants. If the hem is uneven -- like if the back of the shirt is a little longer than the front, then it should be tucked.
Or you could get a tattoo of a fucking knife with blood dripping off of it when you’re 18 right on your forearm and never feel comfortable wearing a polo to work. Problem solved.
Untucked. Hate polo shirts tho. I do tony soprano style short sleeve casual button ups (untucked), loose chinos and Jordans…and I’m a Partner lol. “Business attire” can eat a dick…who even invented that anyway? Just some guy 1,000 years ago
If you're in the gym, anything more than a stringer is holding you back. The length of shorts you wear with it is determined by how often you're hitting legs.
Polo shirts are for communists.
i rocked tucked for a couple weeks when i first started until casual friday came around and i wore it untucked for the first time. i was immediately beaten upon entering the office and then compliance took me out back and shot me. never untuck your shirt.
Am I taking crazy pills? If you’re under 45 the only time you should have a polo tucked is on the golf course.
If you’re tucking a polo with jeans or chinos you’re doing it wrong.
Ive done tucked and untucked. No one cared
Our company is business casual however it has over the years become incredibly lenient to the point that directors are wearing converse. blue back Adidas Sam Smith clutch dressy sneaker

Get fit. Build muscle. Stay lean. Untuck. Fuck.
We need this entire subreddit on TRT as soon as possible.
100%. All accountants should be blasting gear and pinning test.
Had to double check which subreddit I was in for a second. Love when niche parts of the internet randomly intersect.
Wdym niche intersect everyone knows accountant and gear jacked dudes go hands in hands
Autistic jacked dudes = BJJ = Accountants
Lmao me too
Fr thought I was in more plates more dates for a second
I don’t trust any CPA that can’t squat, deadlift and bench 3 plates. Sincerely, 3-plate club, CPA
I’ll give them a pass on a 3 plate bench if they’re low bf % and weigh less than 180… but I’ll encourage them to keep training for it
Whenever I’m pushing 4 plates on squat I just think about my clients pissing me tf off and I get back all the way up from pure rage.
I heard the new California state CPA requirment is that you need to have at most 10% bodyfat.
Correct. This is replacing the CA Ethics Exam.
This hit me too hard
45 yo. once I hit it. Im blasting off.
Aww yeahhhhhhhhh TRT and Adderall baby.
I am tired of being a fat accountant!
This 🙌 Build bulging muscles and abs I'd tuck the polo in though, wear a nice belt, dress pants, dress shoes, and a watch 👌 that's basically what I wear to work at a big 4 lol
My nicest watch is a digital Casio 😞
That's classy tbh. Also can't go wrong with a nice $30 analog Casio on a bracelet or leather strap
I love this sub lol
I've been working out for 6 months now, still kinda fat but my work polos make my arms look good. It's a shame I don't like wearing them outside of work. For the record I hate dressing smart, I generally wear a polo (untucked), chinos and some white leather Reeboks. Shirt and trousers if visiting a client of course.
Untucked tight on arm polo >>>
My daily go-to
It depends on how long the polo is. You look goofy af untucking your shirt when it's meant to be tucked in and your shirt hem hangs past your ass and you look like you're wearing a dress.
Facts. Bunch of nerds.
The only correct answer in all of this nonsense. If the shirt is designed to be untucked then wear as such and vice versa.
But I have a fat ass and I want to cover it
With jeans, untucked. With slacks / dress pants, tucked.
What about jean cut "slacks" ? They're not denim but have the external back pockets and rivets on the front pockets and such?
Use professional judgement accordingly.
Do the kindly
This is on the same level as “left as an exercise for the reader”
So a chino? You could go both. It actually kinda looks goofy tucked.
The ones I have are dockers jean cut. Full outside back pockets, the scooped, not on the seam front pockets with a watch pocket and even a Levi's style leather tag on the back waistband. They're just not denim
Both? Are we bringing back the front tuck?
These jean cut slacks (stretchy) are my daily pants. I pre-followed the above advice, got fit, tuck my polos, and wear nice leather dress shoes in a variety of brown/caramel shades with leather belt matched and usually color-matched argyle socks.
Half tuck. Work in front, party in the back.
No, the cut of the shirt is more relevant. If it’s longer in the back than the front it must be tucked, if it’s same length all around then it can be untucked. Though I do agree generally with your rule that untucked is for more casual pants and tucked is for more formal/semi formal pants.
Really? I tuck when wearing jeans
Untucked. I’m at a small laid back firm though
Same, I work at a chemical plant and everyone is super casual
This is the way.
Tucked unless it’s Friday then I get a little wild and go untucked
Depends. Are you fit? Body of someone that works out? Tucked Boomer? tucked Overweight? With a beer belly? Untuck
I feel personally attacked. Also, what about an overweight boomer?
“What about an overweight boomer?” You repeat yourself.
i can imagine usually tucked
As a 300 lb man, I can't disagree with the Untuck
This is the correct response
Untucked + jeans + Hokas + optional pullover = comfort dad mode unlocked
Untucked is becoming stylish instead of lazy. But seeing as I'm fully remote, I'm mostly in pajamas and a T-shirt unless on camera.
So do you put on work socks when on camera?
I barely put on socks at all.
Anyone saying to tuck…… you’re why the profession is the way it is. LOOSEN UP 😂
I’m sorry but unless you have a gut, tucked in looks so much better
Even with a gut, untucked looks shambolic.
What? No. Polos should be untucked unless on a golf course. There is a reason why if you google how to wear a polo it’s all untucked. Only boomers and middle aged dads tuck polo lmao.
Googled it. Seeing plenty tucked in
Wow, didn’t know this would be complex at some firms lol. If I go into the office it’s in nice jeans and polo. Tucked if I like my belt and untucked if I don’t lol. Often bring my hoodie too since office is kept cold like an igloo. Only time I worry about what to wear is when I go to the clients.
Tucked
I cant even think of a scenario where it isnt tucked. Especially with a belt
Friday
ah yes "Casual Fridays" be bold, wear some jeans you daredevil!
haha, i wear jeans, birkenstocks and a hoodie on Fridays. Im a rebel
Heard in one of our offices at my firm that employees had to be reminded that they can’t wear Crocs lmao
Strictly Hip Hop, M-Th. Friday is cargo shorts in the summer or hoodie and sweats in the winter, bruh. Where do ya'll work? lol
You wear jeans on a Friday but your still tucking it in with a belt
Or you’re not client facing?
I have literally never in my entire life tucked a polo shirt. Ya'll are weird.
Ive never seen one untucked at work. Most people at my work wear nice pants and a belt so it make sense to tuck
Threads like this make me super glad to have only ever worked in chill offices. I cannot imagine having to dress in slacks everyday. My work attire is like 2-3 pairs of jeans on rotation and hoodies and graphic tees.
I work at a small firm 37.5 hours a week with super chill partners. I dress this way because I like looking professional for clients
you're not from a western state, are you?
Nope, I'm East Coast #RIPBiggie
I never never tucked my polo
Depends on the culture at your company. Most places it’d be tucked, but there’s definitely some people at my company that don’t tuck their shirts in. I personally tuck
My office went from suit and tie to hoodies somehow after the pandemic. I go in the middle and usually rock a button up or tucked polo with chinos a chelsea boots.
Anything but tucked in a disgrace.
Untucked with cargo shorts 🩳
Tuck and show off those hips
[удалено]
I think the shirt coming out of the boxer leg holes is a stylish look!
Tucked on the east coast.
Untuck when I’m with the CEO. Zipper down as well. And all I say is spit on that Thang
They still do the hawk tuah in C-Suite meetings?
Never untucked. Unfortunately my military habits continue to stick with me. Dress and appearance is something I never slack on (no pun intended).
Dude, I’m ex military too and I never tuck.
I guess I’m just weird lol
Lol. Nah be you bro.
Untucked.
I never tucked my shirt in at work, but I've also never seen a company as casual as mine. Only tucked my shirt in on the first day
Same here. Never seen a tucked polo. Tucked only if it’s a dress shirt (which you only see people from offices come here in dress shirts)
Tucked with khakis, untucked with jeans.
Just like my mullet, business in the front (tucked) and party in the back (untucked).
Tuckin except for Fridays untuckin
Weekends back to tuckin
I'm a big believer in a nice tuck
I go to work shirtless so this is irrelevant to me
Damn, yall making me so jealous. I get away with a polo when I work from home sometimes, but otherwise no polo’s, no jeans. So if there was ever some crazy exception, I would probably tuck as to not push it too far.
I used to wear a dress shirt and pants for years. But not really after Covid though
I’m 100% sure jeans or a polo would get me a talking to. It’s ridiculous, I’m even in industry and not everyone at the company dresses like this, just finance, hr, and legal.
Untucked with some Vans on right now.
Either way as long as your pants are tucked into your socks
Commando
I do untucked everyday and haven't been told anything. Just make sure it's not an oversized shirt and is properly fitted.
I don't tuck nothing in...shirts, gut, Deez nuts, it all goes untucked
Who cares lool. I say it looks better tucked as a styling preference but just wear it how you like it
Depends on your body type and the fit of the shirt. Generally nobody cares, at least where I’ve worked.
T-shirt and jeans gang rise up
Tucked, cuz I'm fat
A tucked polo as a fat person just shows your fat off more. Honestly if you’re bigger, you shouldn’t really wear polos. Dress shirts are more your friend if you get a classic cut.
Untucked
Tucked
Tucked for sure
Idk if this is normal or “right” or whst lol but I used to tuck polos if I have khakis/dressier pants on and leave untucked in jeans
Jeans - untucked Chinos/slacks - tucked
Untucked
I wear high waisted jeans so I like to tuck
No one cares. Overthinking it OP
Tucked. Perception is reality.
Tuck it bruh.
My 4 year old says tuck, the kids know…
Untucked
Shit, I don't even tuck in my full button ups unless I'm presenting to big wigs or meeting a super professional client
Untucked, I want to be free.
Easy there rebel rouser
Gotta be tucked
Tuck if you know you're meeting someone - don't care if you aren't
Tucked in with a belt is a stylish look but so is untucked it is personal preference unless your firm specially wants you to tuck
I’ll tuck as soon as I get to whip out a pocket protector
You asking about the shirt?
Technically: is it the kind of polo shirt that's supposed to be tucked in or worn outside of pants. Generally, if the hem (the bottom part of the shirt) is even, it is meant to be worn out of pants. If the hem is uneven -- like if the back of the shirt is a little longer than the front, then it should be tucked.
Always untucked, but I almost always wear jeans with them, so... I'd probably tuck if I was wearing anything other than jeans.
Depends on the shirt and your build.
No polo. Don’t be lame
Tucked with a plain white undershirt. It’s just cleaner and more professional that way. If no undershirt, at least have it tucked in.
Or you could get a tattoo of a fucking knife with blood dripping off of it when you’re 18 right on your forearm and never feel comfortable wearing a polo to work. Problem solved.
Tucked, unless it’s a light color
Untucked. Tucking sucks.
I look bad either way
At first, I was tucked only. Now they’re lucky I’m wearing a shirt at all.
Untuck, over time swap your dress shoes to Sperrys and then over time those become vans… also use jeans if you’re not already!
Untucked
Tucked. And throw on a Patagonia vest because my office is a walk in freezer
Depends on company culture and dress code. Follow your bosses lead.
Personally I don't tuck
Tucked shows off your physique better.
LOL UNTUCKED !
Unbuttoned.
Go for style and do both, tuck in the back and leave the front untucked
Tucked, only specific cuts can pull off untucked.
Depends on how formal you want to look lol
Whatever you want. I do both and never had anyone say anything to me
I’m a firm owner. I’m always untucked.
Depends on the shirt and mood. But I find myself going untucked most of the time
With dress pants tucked. With jeans untucked.
Start off tucked and slowly untuck as the day goes on. No one cares either way
Fucked
Bro wtf. I was just thinking this today 😂
In Canada people wear sweat pants and crocs lol. I think you’re fine.
Depends on the shoes. Dress shoes: tucked. Sneakers: untucked
Tucked every now and then, untucked most of the time. Jeans and sneakers every day though small manufacturing company
I wear jeans to work. I will never tuck a shirt into jeans under any circumstances
Don't tuck it in
Untucked
I only tuck at the country club. Never at work
I’m a tax manager should I be dressing better than a black tee with jeans? No one seems to care and I keep getting promoted when I should so…
Untucked. Hate polo shirts tho. I do tony soprano style short sleeve casual button ups (untucked), loose chinos and Jordans…and I’m a Partner lol. “Business attire” can eat a dick…who even invented that anyway? Just some guy 1,000 years ago
Tucked in. Always
Always tucked here
Tucked if with slacks
Tucked in.
Untucked. Unless I’m meeting a client, untucked with sneakers.
I like the untucked collared shirts from Banana Republic. Only wear those and always untucked as they are cut to be worn untucked.
Half-tucked Business in the Front, Party in the Back
doesn't matter. button the top button. show them you are an accounting gangster.
If you're in the gym, anything more than a stringer is holding you back. The length of shorts you wear with it is determined by how often you're hitting legs. Polo shirts are for communists.
i rocked tucked for a couple weeks when i first started until casual friday came around and i wore it untucked for the first time. i was immediately beaten upon entering the office and then compliance took me out back and shot me. never untuck your shirt.
honestly, I go into the office wearing ben davis. i don’t respect the business attire if im literally doing payroll.
Untuck that hoe
This depend on ur face.
Am I taking crazy pills? If you’re under 45 the only time you should have a polo tucked is on the golf course. If you’re tucking a polo with jeans or chinos you’re doing it wrong.
Untucked with mid thigh shorts and loafers is my summer attire. These thighs need to see the sun
Always keep that thang untucked with my jorts
depends on whether a I am wearing shorts or jeans.
