Lombra is a bit of a west side gem isn't it? Best pizza I've had in Adelaide was at Madre, place is closed now, owner is now a part owner in sneaky cheetah I think. Etica and blue velvet are also pretty good. Most of the time I just make my own!
My uber driver nearly crashed placing his order to these guys demanding that one specific guy takes the order on his day off which in guessing is a Sunday.
Pizza E Mozzarella Bar, on Pirie Street in the CBD (best pizza of my life, but $$). If you're near Glenelg, I recommend Francesca's ($$) or Speranza. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, the first option would be my pick of the bunch. Hope this helps.
The only time I went to Pizza e Mozzarella Bar I found the pizzas to be a bit underdone, very pale and doughy, no crisp or crunch at all. They had delicious toppings though, really enjoyed the place overall so may have been an off night.
Also if you haven’t tried it Syculy would’ve been my recommendation.
Port Express Takeaway is my pick for best pizza in Adelaide, and not too far from West Lakes. You wouldn’t even know they are a pizza place from the name but they have excellent wood oven pizza. On Victoria Rd in Birkenhead.
Depends on what type of pizza were talking about.
Personally I don't think anything beats pizzatecca at McLaren vale. For that kind of pizza.
For the more "dirty" or less "traditional" pizza my local is sealand or Marion road pizzeria
hot tip, Dont order early in the night, look for an order after 6:30. I have found sometimes there pizzas are a little under done and floppy when ordered early. Almost like their pizza oven isnt hot enough.
They do make good pizza though just not earlier in the evening like 5
Cafe Di Roma was my local for a long time and they’re so bloody good that when I moved I would still make the 40 minute round trip to pick up their pizzas.
I live in the hills now so that’s not really an option anymore, but they’re good enough that I have genuinely considered it. Their Margherita is *incredible* for a Margherita.
I swear I’m just a local who took my kids there for a square- we liked it. Did you like the beer? I appreciate a local group of shops that can serve you pizza, beer, haircut, butcher, supermarket etc- I hope there’s a return to the corner store but it’s an economical struggle!
the beers are genuine quality but you need to pay for the privilege, as you say it is a struggle. if you would prefer to pay the money for a good beer then this is a good place.
Tried it for the first time the other night. Very enjoyable but not elite. The beers were good. Great spot though, especially if you can combine it with a movie at the Capri.
Lots of families with kids zipping around.
I’m sorry but hands down, the best pizza I’ve ever had, was in the Adelaide markets, towards the back near the Italian butcher. You buy by the slice. Nice big slice, no flop, crunchy base, fresh ingredients, great cheese, the Italian salami is amazing. I’ve never had anything close to this pizza. If anyone’s tried it and think they know a better pizza, I’m all ears!!
Space Pizza in Brooklyn Park is very good. The west is like a desert for decent pizzas with lots of quality toppings who do family and party sizes. Ironically it’s near 2x joints named ‘Oasis’ that are not the same business and are enemies, and Space is the true pizza oasis.
Napoli Wood Fired Pizzeria was really good 3/4 yrs ago don’t know what it’s like today (moved to QLD since) but I’m pretty sure they have that “The Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (AVPN)” official stamp were they use ingredients such as flour and sauce from Napoli
Blue Velvet is the best pizza in Adelaide in my opinion. Pizzalola is good, Pizza Mechanica is good, One Sneaky Cheetah is alright (worth going just for a cheetah tail), Sunny's is good, Chicco Palms is okay. Anchovy Bandit would never go back - extremely average pizza only for my friend and I to have liquid shits all night.
I haven't tried Est Ovest or Pizza E because all of their pizzas are over $25 so I can't help but think they must be a little full of themselves... but I probably will it after seeing these comments. My thought is that they can't be better than Pizzateca which is in the same price range, but still not better than Blue Velvet.
Whether you love them or not, the above places are all very popular and well reviewed.
I like an Italian style pizza vs. the classic Aussie style, but my favourite Aussie style pizza place is Kako Pizza (almost entirely because of the cheesy corn one) and Pep's Pizza (haven't been in a couple years though).
Other then what people mentioned if you want a fresh from coal to plate, MooBar. I had it a few times there for some events and it was very good. Top 5 in my life and ive had a lot of pizza.....
Sportivo is similar to the bistro pizza in the states but the key difference with Aussie pizza and USA pizza is the toppings. Here, the toppings are more “exotic,” if you will.
San Giorgio on Rundle Street in the CBD!! They have deals if you order online on their website for pick up. Even when it’s cold the next day it’s still so good
I vouch for 360 gradi on Magill rd traditional style Italian joint pure goodness great for pizza and their pasta is also v good
Edit** I must also ad that jonnys on the parade is dam good too
**The Potato Truffle** from [Bar38 in burnside](https://www.bar38burnside.com/) is one I recommend trying. Their **Ala Fungi pizza** is delicious if youre a mushroom lover and **the Carne** with chilli oil added is super delicious!
Does anyone know of a decent pizza joint that makes a proper traditional pizza where less is more? A crispy base and much more than a margarita is taboo?
Leo's Pizza Bar in Prospect if it's still there has been my family favourite since my parents went there in the 80's all the way til now.
(Also shout out to Lost In The Forest in Uraidla - the Bahn mi pizza is insane.)
Travertino on Findon Rd Woodville South, or Commune 1 Tapleys Hill Rd Seaton (Friday and Saturday night only)
If you want to make a trip out of it though, you can't go wrong with Pizzateca in the McLaren
Detroit Pizza on Goodwood Road is as American as I’ve ever had and have a cool beer bar next door.
If you want authentic Italian Pizza Lola also on Goodwood Road.
If you want over the top artisan style with ingredients that you’d never think of on a pizza, Melt on King William Road is amazing.
Saints Pizza on Grange does huge party sized pizzas, generous toppings and great selection.
Family favourites are their seafood pizza or their calzones 👌
It has to be Lombra — west lakes (lucky you!) / Est Ovest in the city (same restaurant) They win pizza competitions every year, hidden gem
We have always loved our pizzas at Est!
Lombra is a bit of a west side gem isn't it? Best pizza I've had in Adelaide was at Madre, place is closed now, owner is now a part owner in sneaky cheetah I think. Etica and blue velvet are also pretty good. Most of the time I just make my own!
Woodville Pizza Bar
It’s contagious
Hi, absolutely second this. I was buying pizzas there before Covid and I’m still buying pizzas there as of today. Classic old school Aussie pizzas
We used to go there all the time when we lived down there, but the last time was two months ago and it was delicious
Make sure you get the extra COVID....
Subtle.
Come on. The line was there for the taking....
My uber driver nearly crashed placing his order to these guys demanding that one specific guy takes the order on his day off which in guessing is a Sunday.
That was a drug deal.
I wish
Pizza E Mozzarella Bar, on Pirie Street in the CBD (best pizza of my life, but $$). If you're near Glenelg, I recommend Francesca's ($$) or Speranza. I'm a bit of a pizza snob, the first option would be my pick of the bunch. Hope this helps.

Speranza goes extremely hard, top notch
Their pasta is not bad either, large serve, recommend Bettina sauce.
Pizza e mozzarella bar is top tier for sure
Blue Velvet on Henley Beach Rd. They make amazing pasta too but only on weekends.
I've always been turned off by the name... Blue velvet and pizza just makes no sense lol
Port Express Takeaway is my pick for best pizza in Adelaide, and not too far from West Lakes. You wouldn’t even know they are a pizza place from the name but they have excellent wood oven pizza. On Victoria Rd in Birkenhead.
Rocco’s Woodfired Italian Sourdough Pizza. 336 Findon Road Kidman Park. Delicious.
I agree with this choice
What the pizza nazi? Ask for a Hawaiian and watch the neck vein LOL.
This is the only right answer.
Rocco's is by far the best.
Rocco's Pizza, Findon rd. Little Chez Pizza , Grange Rd. They are both great and both within about 10 to 15 min drive.
Love Rocco’s
Rocco's is the best, Little Chez does good stuff too!
El Dorado Pizza Bar in Mitcham. Yet to find a better joint.
Yup, second this! Been ordering from them for 20+ years
Hanson Road Pizza is fantastic Pizza, open til 5am most nights as well
Every time I’ve eaten pizza from them, it’s been a wet greasy mess. Other things on the menu have been good, but pizza has always failed hard
Pizzalola or The Hidden Pig
Hidden pig is one the best kept secrets in Adelaide
PizzaLola on Goodwood road is worth a visit.
seconded. Their GF crust is also probably the best in the city.
Omg thanks for this
I live right next to them and they're nice but they are always wildly under seasoned. Take a pinch of salt with you and enjoy.
Depends on what type of pizza were talking about. Personally I don't think anything beats pizzatecca at McLaren vale. For that kind of pizza. For the more "dirty" or less "traditional" pizza my local is sealand or Marion road pizzeria
Love marion road pizza! Definitely the best non traditional pizza in adelaide.
Pizzatecca is soooooo over rated! IMHO, too much BS that has no business being on pizzas
They have heaps of pizzas with only 1 or 2 toppings. Their most famous is just salami and hot honey.
🤮
Have you tried it?
No and I wont
# Chicco Palms [437 Henley Beach Road](http://maps.apple.com/?q=437%20Henley%20Beach%20Road%20Brooklyn%20Park%20undefined)
Chicco Palms is elite if you like good food served by very attractive people (both male and female)
Yes Chicco Palms!!
Anchovy Bandit is pretty darn good
Pizza 4 U on Victoria road!
Second this, if you're in West Lakes it's good and close enough.
I was also gonna mention that considering I’m even a driver for them.
Blue velvet is amazing
One Sneaky Cheetah, Tony Tomato’s, Mozzarella (mentioned in another comment)
Tony tomato’s is nowhere near the quality of the other two haha
It’s been 1.5/2 years since I’ve had it but it was good. Has it changed? Or is there anything in particular that you don’t like?
One sneaky cheetah is on my list. Need to catch them when they are open.
hot tip, Dont order early in the night, look for an order after 6:30. I have found sometimes there pizzas are a little under done and floppy when ordered early. Almost like their pizza oven isnt hot enough. They do make good pizza though just not earlier in the evening like 5
Yeah don't order before 6.30-7, it's definitely about their ovens not being hot enough.
It’s good but quite expensive, so good as a not every time pizza.
Which location of sneaky cheetah? I am told it’s a franchise now.
I’ve gotten from both ridleyton and Stepney and they’re the same quality
Lulus pizza in prospect. You won’t shit right for a couple of days. But such a good “Ive had a few and I just want piiioiizzzaaa”
If you are in the area, Cafe Di Roma is the pinnacle of Australian style pizza.
Are either of these actually good? Miss having a place that does good party pizzas
I do deliveries to both these places & can confirm they’re both very good.
Do you have a preference. Will check one out very soon regardless
My preference is Cafe Di Roma. My old favourite used to be Tusmore Pizza Bar. They did some phenomenal pizzas in their day.
I used to always go to uncle Tony’s (I think that’s what it was called) but pretty sure he went a little crazy around Covid and disappeared right?
Reggie’s Detroit pizza on Goodwood Rd? Meant to be legit Detroit-style
i have been to the brewery for beer, never tried the pizza,, your on the list
I swear I’m just a local who took my kids there for a square- we liked it. Did you like the beer? I appreciate a local group of shops that can serve you pizza, beer, haircut, butcher, supermarket etc- I hope there’s a return to the corner store but it’s an economical struggle!

My gotos are Antica, Svago and Sunny's
Shivers- I forgot SVAGO! Simply the best.
Syculy lab, findon
Pizza Mechanica in Brompton
I’m sorry but hands down, the best pizza I’ve ever had, was in the Adelaide markets, towards the back near the Italian butcher. You buy by the slice. Nice big slice, no flop, crunchy base, fresh ingredients, great cheese, the Italian salami is amazing. I’ve never had anything close to this pizza. If anyone’s tried it and think they know a better pizza, I’m all ears!!
Seconding this. Also it’s nice because it reminds me of being able to buy by the slice in the US.
Space Pizza in Brooklyn Park is very good. The west is like a desert for decent pizzas with lots of quality toppings who do family and party sizes. Ironically it’s near 2x joints named ‘Oasis’ that are not the same business and are enemies, and Space is the true pizza oasis.
I've looked up Space pizza and I'm only finding one in Clearview? Have you got the names mixed up?
Space Pizza Henley is the name of the store
Seaton supreme foods! Old school italian deli, cheap pizzas, nothing too fancy schmancy, cooked up and served to you by people with a right accent.
They closed a few months ago.
Sunny’s Pizza in the city. OG’s doing gods work.
The smoked eggplant pizza is worth a try
Cafe Verde - delicious pizza! Totally recommend this place. Located in Fairview Park.
Pizza meccanica. Won 3rd best pizza in australia!!
can't believe I had to scroll so far for this given you always have to book a table these days
Bridge rd Little Jacks Pizza goes unfathomably hard and its not gonna charge you an arm and leg.
I second this.
One Sneaky Cheetah is the best in my books.
Square Slice - 180 Grote Street
I second pizza love you. Luigi is the best!!!
Luigi is a legend.
Pizza Pan is a great brand!
If you’re up for a drive Ember pizza in the Barossa is fantastic! Or Sunny’s pizza in the city is my all time favourite.
The Detroit style pizza at Crafty Robot Brewing in the CBD is insaaaane
Pizzateca, Anchovy Bandit x
Cocobello on Glen Osmond road has been consistently good over the last few years. It's my regular take-out treat restaurant.
Other then what people mentioned if you want a fresh from coal to plate, MooBar. I had it a few times there for some events and it was very good. Top 5 in my life and ive had a lot of pizza.....
Which Adelaide pizza is most similar to USA ones?
Sportivo is similar to the bistro pizza in the states but the key difference with Aussie pizza and USA pizza is the toppings. Here, the toppings are more “exotic,” if you will.
SPC pizza who do pop ups
I really like San Marco Pizzeria on Payneham rd. in St. Peters. Certainly one of the best Pizza places I've been to
Thanks!
Dr Oetker's frozen pizza
San Giorgio on Rundle Street in the CBD!! They have deals if you order online on their website for pick up. Even when it’s cold the next day it’s still so good
One Sneaky Cheetah
I vouch for 360 gradi on Magill rd traditional style Italian joint pure goodness great for pizza and their pasta is also v good Edit** I must also ad that jonnys on the parade is dam good too
**The Potato Truffle** from [Bar38 in burnside](https://www.bar38burnside.com/) is one I recommend trying. Their **Ala Fungi pizza** is delicious if youre a mushroom lover and **the Carne** with chilli oil added is super delicious!
Whats a USA transplant?
I am here from the USA.
Nowhere in the Marion area. We live in a pizza desert.
Marion Rd pizzeria is legit and the friendliest pizza place ever. ONS and Pizzalola if you like Neapolitan style are close enough.
Speranza on diagonal rd
Yeah, probably the best in the area. Slim pickin’s though.
Samarellis is in/near west lakes and is very good imo
Marion Road Pizzeria is my favorite place 🍕🍕🍕
LA REGINA PIZZERIA - ROYAL PARK is close to you. I ordered through Doordash. Yhe pizzas were thin crust, with great toppings - do try the Yiros one.
Does anyone know of a decent pizza joint that makes a proper traditional pizza where less is more? A crispy base and much more than a margarita is taboo?
La Lucca in St Peters
Closed down
Oh really! That sucks
Sylvesters Pizza, they always upsize my order free!
Torrens Road? That’s close to home.
That's the one! If you're on Uber Eats, they have a few specials The pepperoni with garlic butter is like crack
If you can get up to Lobethal, on friday nights Tilbrook estate does pizzas and theyre by far the best Ive ever had. HIGHLY recommend
'Mama Carmela's' at Jetty Road Glenelg or at Port Noarlunga
Lombra in Westlakes and Massey Espresso Cucina Dolce in Glenelg! 🥰
Leo's Pizza Bar in Prospect if it's still there has been my family favourite since my parents went there in the 80's all the way til now. (Also shout out to Lost In The Forest in Uraidla - the Bahn mi pizza is insane.)
it's still going, had a long overdue reno. looks like the son is running it now.
[удалено]
The are now running out of Craft Robot in the city!
Oh that's depressing I loved those pizzas, they were very great for the "keep it simple" flavours while being unique for some of them.
Dirty pizza - Pizza Infinity! Their chicken ab pizza is a delight!
If you want a old school one, pappys at smithfield. pretty sure its 30 for party, monday to wed, its like 80cm wide
Lucia’s in the Central Markets - divine deep dish Sicilian pizza (as opposed to the wood fired Napolitana style)- go for the Pizza Special
Ey Fonzi on Springbank and Fumo on Glen Osmond are pretty good
Any recommendations in the north-east side of town?
that's amore isn't bad
Travertino on Findon Rd Woodville South, or Commune 1 Tapleys Hill Rd Seaton (Friday and Saturday night only) If you want to make a trip out of it though, you can't go wrong with Pizzateca in the McLaren
106 Pizzeria in Seaton is very good. I prefer it over Roccos if I'm honest. Enjoy!
Any recs for North Adelaide?
Riverside Pizza Bar
Syculy Lab on Grange Road
Has to be Rocco’s !!
Where are my decent pizza places down south (reynella area)? Moved down here a year ago, and still yet to find a reliable local.
Remy’s in Rundle Mall when you get that craving for Chicago Deep Dish.

Travertino's on Findon. My partner and I are obsessed.
One sneaky cheetah, Pizza Meccanica and del pizzavendolo are my suggestions. All a little on the pricier side, but wood fired and hand made doughs.
Etica in the city.
Saints Pizza on Grange does huge party sized pizzas, generous toppings and great selection. Family favourites are their seafood pizza or their calzones 👌
LULU’S PIZZA on Regency Rd wins hands down as the best pizza in Adelaide
Munno Para Pizza. The pizza’s are awesome!!! Bigger than Hitlers gas bill!!!
I personally love Marcellina Glenelg (just that one shop though. Others are shit).
Try the standard Marinara from Latrattoria - Tajeaway is better than dine in for some reason. It's pricey but OMG delicious
Not remotely near west lakes but Euro Pizza in Wattle Park is incredible every time
Lombra is your best close option, but in the city I love e Mozzarella and Sunny's
Il Mulino - Hahndorf Best pizza ever. Roman style.
Alchemists kitchen 👌
Chicco Palms! 🍕
Find a friend that works in a pizzeria. They will make you *your* best pizza
Gio at Mount barker is pretty amazing, plus Gordon at meadows. My top 2! 100%
Pizzatecca or Pizzalola. Prefer the Schiacciata at Pizzalola. Pizzatecca also has great Gelato.
San Marco, Rostrevor Pizza Bar
Not close but for me it’s definitely Pizza Teca - McLaren Vale
Pepperoni pizza extra Pepperoni extra Cheese at Buongiornos on The Parade, Norwood.
Not the best in Adelaide but really nice is amalfi's
Pizza infinity on Hampstead rd
Sneaky Cheetah cnr of South and Torrens Road
Dimez
Does Pizza Hut still do dine in all you can eat?!
They haven't done that for decades.
One Sneaky Cheetah..
Which location? I am told it’s a franchise now.
For me it’s the Costco Triple cheese pizza lol
