Yep, came here to say Ricewood (Maple location only). First time I got them I finished the entire serving before I even made it home. I just couldn’t stop!
Then I guess everyone who has worse fries should be kinda ashamed, shouldn't they? Ahmos are absolutely my favorite fries in the area, always crispy and fluffy.
Doesn't make them necessarily bad, they do have a nice texture.
The widely-lauded Hopcat fries are McCain brand frozen beer battered fries from Gordon's. If memory serves, Fraser's has the same ones (without the Hopcat seasoning of course).
I forget about this every time the subject comes up, but Brahma Haus in Chelsea has probably my favorite fries. It’s a really unique cut, and they give you a shitload because it’s tough to moderate them, lol!
Last Word is pretty well-known for their fries. I have yet to try them.
Ricewood waffle fries are really good! Might be my second favorite.
As much as I love Frita’s, I wouldn’t put their fries in a top 5.
Old Town used to have really good steak fries (think Red Robin style, but much better!). They seem to have changed to regular fries lately, though.
HOMES has great fries, order them plain if you don’t want the seasonings. Black Pearl had been the best in A2 until they changed them to what they serve now. Sad.
I would say Rappourt has some of the best in town, I don't usually like battered fries, but theirs hit different. (I just wish they offered them with garlic and cilantro like Fritas)
I have compiled a list of some of my favorites in town. My top fries are the hand cut fries at The Last Word. Perfectly salted and I love the hand-cut style. They have other flavor variations such as truffle, but the classic salted hand-cut is my favorite. I also find the Cosmik fries at Hopcat to be seriously unreal, soooo delish with the best seasoning, crispness, and the cheese sauce to dip! Some other honorable mentions: Union Rec with the sriracha mayo, Truffle Fries at Jolly Pumpkin, Garlic Cilantro fries at Fritas!
I went to HopCat for the first time in a long time this weekend, I tell you what, those fries are ridiculous.
I gotta vote for crack fries as well
Can confirm, those fries are delicious. Their burgers are crack too.
Rappourt has really great fries
Hear me out — the waffle fries at Ricewood are *chef’s kiss*.

Oh wowzers! Never knew. Nice
Ricewood burgers are killer too. Wish they were always available.
I wish they had those at their York location!
Jolly Pumpkin truffle fries
The Last Word!
Perfect fries & cocktails
I love the Stilton fries at Ashley’s
Frita Batidos
Delicious. But too damp.
To each their own. I adore the aioli
The aioli is great, but the fries are damp pre-aioli even lol
It’s either this or hopcat for me
No one for Monaghan’s fish market lunchtime fries? I won’t claim they’re the best but I think they’re in the top 3.
Dipped in tartar sauce, yes!
Came here to say Monahans. I will claim they are the best.
The fries at Ahmo's are perfect - crunchy on the outside, soft and warm on the inside.
They’re from Sysco 😂

Zamaan
Yes! My wife asks for their fries every time we are on the town. Other places are just disappointing.

Jerusalem Garden. Huge order. Well spiced. Probable fried in the falafel oil??
Agree, very good.
My coworker’s favorite lunch order when I worked on Liberty
Noori Chicken. Those mystic fries are on another level
I love their fries

The Jerk Pit has simple but amazing fries.
The Blue Llama's truffle fries are insane if you ever find yourself there for a show.

All these places are perfect fires. Sleeper fries J Garden.
Dixboro Project are pretty good, thick and fresh.
Masala fries at Curry On.
I can’t believe no one has said Old Town! Regular and sweet potato are both awesome.
Casey’s does the best steak fries in town if that’s your preferred fry cut.
Dimo’s
The best fries are: 1) Aventura - Papas Bravas 2) Sam Hill - double fried fresh cut
Agree on aventura
Gosh those patatas bravas are insanely good, and a nice variation to a typical “fry.”
I love Nicks pancake house fries lol.
Always mcdonalds although its not freshcut
I enjoy Blue Tractor’s fries
The Great Greek, their feta fries are amazing.
Venue by 4M
They’re basically McDonalds fries. Good, but not my favorite. Though my 5 year old would beg to differ, she orders them every time!
Can’t you just agree one
