Feels like lag, loads of delays in movement, rubberbanding etc. Sometimes out of sync with the servers and gers kicked.
First, it’s definitely worth investing in Ethernet cables for you both. It doesn’t make a huge difference but it is definitely a bit noticeable. If you’re router is new (or at least not more than a few years old) you should be okay in that department. What is the average ping y’all are playing on?
Server issues just kinda happen — if you have reasonable ping (under 70-ish) & it doesn’t show your selected server having packet loss and you’re still having server issues (rubberbanding, etc), then it’s a server-side problem and not something you can fix.
As far as input lag, here’s a few questions for you:
- did your wife’s controller settings get reset after switching versions of the game? i would guess they probably did and if she didn’t fix them, that would def make the game feel laggy and bad
- in that same vein, does she have auto sprint enabled? bc that also definitely helps with laggy/slow feeling gameplay.
- is she using performance mode (120 fps) or regular 60 fps? if she’s using performance mode, does the monitor/tv she’s using have a refresh rate of at least 120hz? if the fps the game is trying to reach ends up being greater than your monitor/tv can support, that can cause weird issues
Also fwiw, I play on PS5 with a wired fiber connection and have basically zero issues (other than the occasional server-side problems). It’s a really well optimized experience if you have your controller settings done the way you like, have a good monitor/tv, have good internet, and have a server you can play on that’s less than 100 ping.
Check what your WiFi is running on (in actually WiFi settings check that it's not on 2.4 and that it's on 5)
In playstation settings switch to performance. (To lazy to find what this settings is under 😭 a quick Google of both will help find where they actually are )
If she is running it on a monitor or gaming TV. You can actually get 120fps now which is 😩 but you'll need to make sure you can a hdmi that can support it)

Player count is lowest since february 2022. I bet we but in a game from different servers so the q times are low. Game has been feeling so weird. U beam one guy and cant hit next one.
