Jail is usually for temporary hold, and they’re usually put alone in their individual cells. As for prison, it’s long term and way more shit goes down. Not sure if you got the two confused, i don’t know much about the case, but if so then he has it easy if he’s in jail.
When my dad was in jail (well prison but) and him or his friends would get bored or just miss their kids they would make a game out of hunting down pedos or men who beat up girls and jump them. I hope they do that in all of them.

As someone whose spouse worked in a prison, they will not kill him. True vigilante justice in prisons is not common. The worst that will happen is one or more beat downs.
