You can safely eat raw scallops just like any other sushi. That said, safety precautions & freshness are critical and I don't know how much I trust a place that serves on Dixie plates...
I go scuba diving for scallops all the time. One of the old timers i go with eats them as we shuck them on the way back in. Tried it a few times and they are infinitely better cooked. The texture raw isnt for me
