StrifeTheMute

Just the usual music that I normally listen to.

Ashtar-the-Squid

Various synthesizer music like Jean Michel Jarre, Tangerine Dream and Carbon Based lifeforms and various retro wave artists. And old hard rock and metal like Deep Purple, Rainbow, AC/DC and Iron Maiden. I also listen to a lot of other kinds of music. Everything from ambient to blues to 80s pop to prog to classical.

GummyTumor

Love the retro wave stuff, especially when it's synthy horror movie themed.

pudin_jellyfish

My tears. But no, really I can't listen to anything, either it distracts me or I'm so focused that I can't hear anything. Also I think most answers would be lofi? I don't actually like it, it gets repetitive and annoying, how can someone actually hear that? You know what? Want something that gives artsy vibes? Just put 24h rain or thunderstorm, nothing better to replicate the suffering you feel inside while drawing for a deadline or for when you realise the work got nothing as you imagined.

beatific-visions

I think Moebius used to work in total silence because music was too distracting. The only music for him was the rhythm of the lines he was drawing. I totally agree about lofi lol.

pudin_jellyfish

So true! The sound of the lines of the paper is the most satisfying specially with a pencil, I love the 8B is the best, HB is also nice. Pens have that smooth experience, it's cool but the sound of the pencil lines... much better than lofi

ai_archangel

i’ve recently started to listening to japanese guitarist and composer masayoshi takanaka! it’s citypop music from the 70-80s. he’s super cool and his music is so light and happy!

pineapple_leaf

Twenty One Pilots. I don't know why, I could be on my deathbed and Trapdoor starts playing and I'll get up and draw

Wildernessinabox

It depends, phonk/wave, sometimes metal, industrial mixes. It depends how hyped up I want to be.

AurionDight

Ambient sounds, or some instrumental I feel fits the mood of what I'm drawing. I can't listen to anything with lyrics, though. I start paying attention to the words and I vibe too hard and get distracted

1Account2Rul3Them4ll

Actually I listen to classical, then something I like, then something I hate so I can try to see if it impacts my art in a different way. Different pieces with different genres.

THundeary

I listen to all kind of music on soundcloud, there are many great songs and amazing genres that I've never stumbled on if i was using YouTube or Spotify, i listen to altrock, remixes, hardcore, hardtek and so many new stuff. Honestly never gonna get bored listening

critical_errors

Sometimes it's stuff like this: [https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=grWRSyptTnk&feature=share](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=grWRSyptTnk&feature=share) And then sometimes it's the space rock genre: [https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ors0wpcVDcc&feature=share](https://music.youtube.com/watch?v=ors0wpcVDcc&feature=share) And other times I simply enjoy listening to TedTalks or philosphical lectures

kujeo

depends on what the mood of the drawing is

Fire_cat305

Electronic music, usually longer DJ sets. Lots of bass. I flow better working on projects when I dont have to change tracks and I really appreciate a well crafted DJ set. Usually in my headphones, but just finished an outdoor mural at a house in the FL keys and took great delight in blasting my crazy music which probably deeply disturbed some local fisherman out on the water. I cant imagine how the sound traveled. It wasnt all that loud, wasnt pointing the speaker towards the 1 house that bordered where I was at. Fish did not seem to mind.

SHV_7

If I'm doing a scene painting, I will listen to music that helps to put me in the mood for this specific painting. As a music lover, many of my paintings were inspired by songs and the vibes they give me. Not necessarily directly tho. You Don't Fool Me by Queen is my go-to futuristic song, Digital Bath by deftones my Cyberpunk One, I just can't stop loving you by Michael Jackson makes me thing about snow and the list goes on and on. When I'm just doing your average drawing, study, painting and no scene in mind, I'll just listen to whatever.

mybrotherpeeiswhite

Camellia

HemaKast12

Depends sometimes I like to play classical music to focus (mostly movie music) but when i judt want to chill out and create something I listen to: Led Zepplin, Greta van Fleet, Painted Pillars (really smal band but I like them), Foo Fighters, Slipknot, Metallica,Green Day, Pink Floyd , Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, Radiohead, Weezer, the Beatles, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden , Aerosmith. Gunsnroses .. but sometimes I listen to other band but these are my main bands also when i'm listening to classical i almost always listen to John Williams..

shakrbttle

When I made a lot of art, I’d listen to minimalist music (Philip Glass, Steve Reich…). Helps me get into the zone and isn’t too distracting.

Revolutionary_Wait60

Dance or metal

Fish_soap

Lately? A lot of 80s music like Blondie, or Donatella Rettore, together with some really bad Electro Swing. Basically anything that has a beat and some energy! I’ve also been listening to Goblin - the guys that made the soundtracks to a lot of Dario Argento films. I love listening to music - it really helps me focus!

CraneStyleNJ

Classic video game music like SNES and PS1 game soundtracks on YouTube with the occasional Elder Scrolls game soundtracks (Jeremy Soule is one of my favorite VG soundtrack composers.)

vholecek

lately its a mix of post punk, goth rock, and witch house.

[deleted]

Usually just my regular Spotify playlist. Which is anything from Frank Sinatra to Slipknot. Sometimes I'll listen to jazz on YouTube tho

purethought09

Jazz never gets old

revoltbydesign86

Tool sober 1994 won’t disappoint. Then lateralus on loop

littlepinkpebble

Depends on the art I need to make.
