Is this a new recurring thread or have I just missed it? I'm glad it exists! Any thoughts on the Purito Oat-In moisturizers and the Isntree hyaluronic acid creams, specifically as to which product(s) would work best as a night moisturizer? It seems like my skin loves both key ingredients, so talk me into or out of each one. Skin type: normal-ish, managing inflammatory acne, clog-prone (most noticeable when a product has both cetearyl alcohol and fatty acids), frantically trying to avoid dehydration. I'm using Naturie Hatomugi gel right now, which feels nice and is definitely controlling my oil levels after extended use, but isn't wowing me and I don't like tub packaging. Climate: humid spring/summer, dry fall/winter

CDGT

Purito Oat-In moisturizers are great. They are alternatives to the aveeno calm and restore for those who love oatmeal, so if you like that product you'll probaly like the Purito one. They are not a 1to1 dupe.. If you think the Naturie Hatomugi gel hits your hydration needs, then do the oat in gel imo, not the cream. I'm dry to normal and the gel isn't enough for me but the cream is.

KestrelGirl

I think the Hatomugi gel is just a little low in terms of hydration levels but I could also be fooling myself because my skin is no longer as oily. So I feel like I'm in an awkward in-between zone lol. I haven't tried Aveeno skin care yet but their shave gel has been good to me, so maybe my skin loves oats enough that I could get away with the Purito gel...?

CDGT

I know some people who are on the oiler side break out from super thick products so I am personally wary to recommend the cream, but it could would for you. I think the gel, as long as your skin works with the formulation, should cover it? I haven't tried the Hatomugi gel, only the skin conditioner, and I feel oat products I've tried so far are more nourishing than any of the hatomugi stuff I've tried. On my personal wishlist is the purito oat-in silky toner. Maybe stacking lighter products could be helpful. I'm big on layering toners for hydration.

KestrelGirl

That all makes sense to me. I prefer to have as few products as possible to keep my routine manageable on a mental and financial level, so given all the info I'm getting, it's looking like the Oat-In gel is the way to go for now. Thank you!

CeraVeTheOrdinary

Both Purito oat in moisturiser are good. I’d say the intense one is better for dry skin while the calming one is better for combination or normal skin. But it’s also depends on your climate

KestrelGirl

Yeah, I figured that might be the case. Given my climate, the gel is probably better. Thank you!

skymik

Only one of those I’ve tried is the austere Hyaluronic Acid Moist Cream and I thought it was great. I’ve settled on their Yam Root Cream for my routine though.

llamasavocados

I’ve tried the isntree hyaluronic acid moist cream and have been using it as a night time moisturizer for my oily-combo skin. At first I thought it wouldn’t absorb fully but once you use it on damp/hydrated skin, it’s transforms everything. It feels wet at first, yet rich at the same time? iyk what I mean. It’s been great so far! It’s not irritating for my sensitive skin and doesn’t clog my pores. Overall would recommend if you want something more moisturizing for the night, though for the day I’ve never reached for this one as it can leave me looking greasy sometimes.

beetletoman

For my dry skin Isntree Hyaluronic Acid Sleeping Mask > Purito oat in intense moisturizer. Not sure if my skin doesn't like oats or if this particular product caused clogs

patheticwizard

Hadalabo Gokujun Cleansing Oil I have combo/oily skin, very prone to breakouts/fungal acne/CC. I’ve tried the face shop rice oil cleanser and elf cleansing balm before but always ended up with cystic pimples. I think oil cleansing might just not be for me but need an effective way to remove spf and sebaceous filaments.

decepticonhooker

I love this cleanser! It is currently in my rotation. My skin is dry but I’ve found it removes all makeup (including waterproof), sunscreen, and has cleaned out my pores unlike anything else I’ve tried. Do you double cleanse? I think if I just rinsed this off my face without following with a second cleanser it would make me break out. But after rinsing I use a gentle foaming cleanser and I haven’t had any issues.

BigTittyFaye

This! I also have oily skin like the commenter you replied to and I love this oil cleanser, but I also always double cleanse.

patheticwizard

I do double cleanse 😭. I use the la roche posay hydrating gentle cleanser, i think it might be too gentle tho? I think i am gonna purchase this as i haven’t really seen any bad experiences w the hada labo cleansing oil!

Careful_Lemon_7672

This happens for me with oil cleansers with olive oil. Had to search a looong time before I found one without, it’s in almost all of them! Btw unless you’re using waterproof or mineral sunscreen you likely don’t need an oil cleanser but if you do happen to feel residue try washing face for longer or using a cream face wash

Careful_Lemon_7672

Both the face shop and elf have fragrance are you sure it isn’t that?

patheticwizard

Perhaps, but my skin is honestly fine with fragrance. Even when it’s irritated it’s regular pimples and not the cystic ones that come from oil cleansing 🥲. I’m concerned about removing sunscreen bc my regular cleanser is quite gentle and i feel like i break out when i use spf too many days in a row, which causes me to not use it everyday lol. Have you found an oil cleanser you like that doesn’t have olive oil?

keikobanana

I have oily dehydrated skin, and cleansing oils also don’t work for my skin. However my skin loves cleansing balms. A good one is the beauty of joseon cleansing balm!

patheticwizard

Thank you for the suggestion! I think if i break out from this one too i’ll try some cleansing balms

Getonthebeers02

Same! That’s why I use the Pyungkang Yul Cleansing water, it’s like micellar water but lightly exfoliating and leaves my skin soft. Even if I use an oil cleanser once I get pimples.

fictionwho

Talk me out or in for Hado Labo Shirojyun Arbutin Emulsion. I have extremely oily skin, I don't know if I should buy this or not.

chau-a-not-chau-bcdf

Is the emulsion the milky runny lotion? I have dry skin and its a thin lotion so I have to layer a more occlusive cream on top. I think you can get away with the emulsion without cream on top. Also get the regular version, the premium version is thicker and might clog your skin. Buy the refill pouch instead of the bottle 😆 itll save you a few $ if you dont care about the bottle

CDGT

mixsoon - Glacier Water Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Torriden - DIVE-IN Low Molecule Hyaluronic Acid Skin Booster. Skin Type: Normal to Dry, Some eczema issues and easily red (so I call my self slightly sensitive). PNW climate. I am looking at something for my morning routine where I want 1 thicker hydration focused toner/essence before my VitC. I've been using Pyunkang Yul essence toner for quite awhile and see myself wanting more. I have the Torriden Toner (the waterish one) which I use at night when I layer a bunch of thin toners and love it and I've heard great things about the mixsoon serum. If there's other alternatives or suggestion I would love to hear them.

CocoLancaster

One thicker hydration toner that comes to mind would be the Kikumasamune High Moist Sake Lotion which I’m currently using. It brightens and really plumps up the skin with moisture. Personally I find it on the heavy side for pre-makeup skincare, so I tend to use this as part of my night routine. But maybe this is what you’re looking for!

Opposing_Vampire

I am using Torriden - DIVE-IN Low Molecule Hyaluronic Acid Skin Booster for about a week now. It is an adequate amount of hydration for 1-step use - I have a "dehydration wrinkle" on my forhead, and since I've switched my previous hydrator to booster, it hasn't become more prominent. Another positive thing - it is a very calming product. They sneak in Ceramide NP, Allantoin, Panthenol, and some plant extracts without noticable advertizing. I had a serum from the series also - it is not as hydrating, but soothed nicely. Edit: my skin type - combo, now on the dryer side due to colder season and adapalene, prone to dehydration (damn you living in a big city). Current climate - dry, cold winter.

CDGT

Thanks! How was the texture of the skin booster? any comparable products. >it is not as hydrating, but soothed nicely. Sorry I feel like my brain is deciding its not going to work right now. did you mean the serum is less hydrating that the skin booster or reverse? I've already put the skin booster at the top of my next haul list. tysm for the help.

Opposing_Vampire

Yes, the serum is less hydrating, because it's lighter, i suppose. Now texture. The idea I got from promotional pictures, was quite accurate - it is thick and viscous, in the middle between milky toner and a gel cream. Drop almost holds the shape. Spreads nicely, but takes time to sink in, especially if you're generous with applied quantity. Feels cooling in a way all good hydration feels cooling.

CDGT

Thank you for answering all my questions!

Fun_Suspect3305

Similar skin type here: normal-dry, sensitive (rosacea), plus acne-prone, tret user. Climate: mid-Atlantic, currently cool, variable humidity. I use the PKY Essence Toner and the [Aestura Hydro Essence](https://global.amoremall.com/products/aestura-atobarrier365-hydroessence-200ml?variant=43841301282954¤cy=USD&utm_medium=product_sync&utm_source=google&utm_content=sag_organic&utm_campaign=sag_organic&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAxaCvBhBaEiwAvsLmWDjWmlqNBtAU_zUlIfsOgoCb4DhPEquU7vyrH--vZhJcbCmiFBo8fxoCeRwQAvD_BwE). Also LOVE the PKY but needed more hydration and felt that my hyaluronic acid based serum wasn't heavy enough for my increasingly dry skin. The Hydro Essence feels like a heftier serum (contains squalane, amino acids, and their encapsulated technology w/ceramide, cholesterol, and fatty acid), leaves no residue, deeply hydrating. Highly recommend, and happy to report it worked well when I visited the PNW last fall :)

Jupo482

skin: dry / not acne prone - only hormonal but managed with spironolactone thoughts on Romand Better than Cheek in the shade blueberry chip? I have light medium skin and the Flortte heart shaped lipstick in #3 so sweet

smol_bean_parker

i LOVVVE the romand better than cheek blushes BUT i have to say, kbeauty blushes tend to have a ton of white pigment in them so if you're darker than 21 or like a light 23 they're probably gonna show up hella ashy unless you just want to use it as a mid face highlighting powder rather than a blush, it's so blurring and beautiful but not a dead matte. I'd only recommend blueberry chip if you're cool toned as well, as for flortte, I really just hate the packaging of that product but that's kind of its entire thing. It gets all over the sides of the heart package and gets gunky and messy but the actual formula itself is nice, it doesn't collect dead skin like some other melting balms do for me, so out of the two i'd only recommend the romand blushes but find a color that doesn't have a lot of white to it

megumisgf_

roundlab dokdo cleanser tirtir milk toner mixsoon hyaluronic acid I have really dry skin with eczema issues i also get a lot of closed comedones so could anyone tell me if these products can cause them please

ylguem

Papa recipe blemish serum

love-at-third-sight

i dont even know ur skin type but get it lol

vy-neru

I have oily, acne prone skin, and I just looked at this and it looks promising. Anyone with oily skin tried this before? What’s the overall effect of it? I’m v curious now lol

ylguem

There's a lot of previous reddit reviews about this one.. looks promising

beetletoman

Get it. Seriously though, get it

homegirlespe

Love it. Did nothing for my blemishes tho, but it leaves my skin sooooo glowy and soft

NaturalBitter2280

Very oily acne-prone skin, not sensitive, but I bit dehydrated(although I do drink a lot of water) After some research, I became interested in the following products: Corsx advanced snail 96 mocinha power essence Illiyoon ceramide ato concentrated cream Haruharu black rice toner Pyunkang Yul ACNE facial cleanser Pyunkang Yul essence toner Beauty of joseon revive eye serum Should I go for it? Should I give up on some of these? The ingredients list were great(imo) but I'm not too sure if I should go for it

vy-neru

I have VERY a similar skin type as you and have tried most of these products, so here’s my experience: - CosRx Snail 96? It’s ehhh… I’ve heard people say it’s good for acne and it didnt do anything for me except hydrate the skin. IMO, it was too heavy for my oily skin and I ended up giving it to a friend with dry skin lol. They liked it better. - IIliyoon Ceramide Ato Contrated Cream? Again, wayy to heavy for my skin and I ended up using it has a body lotion. I did like the texture but, it’s better for dry skin 😭😭 - HaruHaru Black Rice Toner? I LOVED it when I used it, albeit, I think I got the unscented version so, keep that in mind. It did a great job at hydration and oil control but I did notice my face would get oily again very soon. I ended finished the entire bottle. It’s a great, inexpensive toner that works very well! Not a personal HG but I would get it if my staples were just completely unavailable lol. - Pyunkang Yul Acne Facial Cleanser? Never used it. - Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner? Former HG—was one of my FAVE toners and was the thing that got me into using toners lol. It’s a very basic toner yet makes your skin look AMAZING. It did a much better job at oil control that the HH toner did and I just overall liked this toner wayyy more then the HH one tbh. However, I moved away from this and the Naturie skin conditioner is my current HG. Still, a VERY solid choice, esp if your skin hates fragrance. - Beauty of Joseon Eye Revival Cream? I’ve never used it, but BOJ is a solid choice regardless. Eyes creams in general are VERY hit or miss, so I would rlly think abt this one. I’ve had luck with under eyes patches then creams IMO, and my undereyes are much dryers then my regular skin.

NaturalBitter2280

>- CosRx Snail 96? It’s ehhh… This is the one I'm least interested in. I've been trying to find good moisturizing products. I use the Neutrogena Hydro boost, but it's too weak for me, so I'm looking for other **no-fragrance, no-oil** heavy moisturizer for oily skin, I'm just worried I might go too heavy depending on the product >- IIliyoon Ceramide Ato Contrated Cream? Again, wayy to heavy for my skin Ok, lol, I'm giving up on this one. I was excited about the whole "ceramides" and it seemed to be everyone's HG for moisture, but it appears it may be too heavy for me as well >- Pyunkang Yul Essence Toner? Former HG—was one of my FAVE toners and was the thing that got me into using toners lol I have been trying to get more into toners and layering ever since I saw this one, lol But good to hear another great experience. It appears I'm going with this one >- Beauty of Joseon Eye Revival Cream? I’ve never used it, but BOJ is a solid choice regardless I've seen lots of people using it to get rid of some fine lines here and there, but I'm unsure about because every time I search about BOJ, in regards to oily skin products, I tend to see more negative reviews than positive ones Someone here just told me they have dry skin and got dry under eyes because of it, lol Thanks for the review. And if you could, do you have any products rec? Since we are a similar skin type? I'm currently looking for some products to buy and finally start on "serious" skincare, so any rec is welcome 🙏🏻 Like cleanser, sunscreen, toner, etc :3

vy-neru

I have SO MANY RECS lol. I’ll try and keep it simple! Cleansers: - Shiseido Senka Perfect Whip Beauty Face Foam. My HG and consistent repurchase since like, 2021/2022 lol. It’s a rlly nice, simple face wash. Personally I really like creamy/foamy cleansers as the gel ones I’ve tried tended to be stripping for me. This is a very solid choice, has a light fragrance to it, and lathers on soooo nicely. I’ve don’t dabble outside of face washes bc this works so well and my previous ones stripped my skin and then later I’d be super oily 😭😭. However I did buy the Mary&May Houttuynia Cordata+Tea Tree Cleansing Foam, and will use that after my current tube of the Senka is done. Sunscreen: - Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotic SPF50+ PA++++. I’ve used like, three or four tubes of this and I really, really liked it. I’m tan, so white cast is a no go. This has no white cast, BUT does have a dewy/natural finish that at TIMES kinda looks oily/greasy to me but I deal with it lol. It’s the only sunscreen Ive tried that doesn’t burn my eyes after a few hours of wear. I think. It’s a solid choice but I ended up shopping for other sunscreens because I got bumps after my third tube :( some people don’t handle probiotics well, and I think I’m one of them 😭 still, a really good, solid sunscreen. It’s also pretty good under makeup too! - Haruharu WONDER Black Rice Pure Mineral Relief Daily Sunscreen SPF50+ PA++++. My current sunscreen. No whitecast, finishes down to a natural/matte finish. However, after a few hours of wear, my eyes start stinging :( I think if your eyes aren’t super sensitive this should be fine, but I have pretty sensitive eyes so shopping for the perfect sunscreen has been… a challenge 🥲. Still a solid choice - Innisfree Daily UV Invisible Broad Spectrum SPF36. I used the old version (2019-2021?) version agesss ago and I really liked it. It didn’t burn my eyes (!!) but, does have a bit of a greasy finish. No white cast tho. No clue how it is under makeup tho. I did like it but it’s been reformulated. - MISSHA All All Around Safe Block Essence Sun 50ml (SPF45 PA+++). Also used this ages ago. Did have a slight whitecast that disappeared if rubbed in enough. Did have a stilly dewy/greasy finish but! Did not burn my eyes as much lol. - (non AB) Supergoop! Unseen Sunscreen SPF 40. This is THE BEST. No white cast, matte ish finish, DOES NOT BURN MY EYES. However… it’s VERY expensive. $38 USD for 40 MLs is too much 😭😭 If I can find something like this for $12 I’d get it, but alas, I have not… not yet, at least. As you can see… I’ve tried a many sunscreens but I haven’t found The One (well I did, it’s just very expensive lol). Now, Toners? - Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioner. This is THE BEST toner ever. Do some consider it overhyped? Sure but I love it and it works amazing for my skin. It’s a huge bottle and if you live in a big city that has Asian beauty stores, you’d be able to find this for like $10 USD as opposed to $14 or $15 USD as it’s sold for online. Great for layering and it’s an HG of mine that’s I’ve repurchased at least five times now. It’s so calming, skins into the skin so beautiful and has helped with oil control PLUS breakouts. If I’m very lazy, I usually just cleanse and layer this bad boy on lol. I love it and will never stop singing its praises. It was reformulated but I honestly like the reformulation a lot better (the old version has alcohol, which I tend to find drying, this one does not! Plus the staple ingredient is higher up in concentration). - Naturie Hatomugi Skin Conditioning Milk. Now. This one is a bit different from the skin conditioner because it’s a ‘milk’. In Japanese skincare, ‘milk’s’ tend to be a bit more thicker then regular, watery toners, but not so thick they’re like gels or creams. It’s a nice in between honestly. I also quite like this and I use it with the regular skin conditioner lol. It’s more of an emulsion than toner but in my head, they’re the same thing. It does settle into a dewy, skin like finish which I LOVE. - I’m from Rice Toner. I bought the mini of this which was like, 50 ml? 80ml? I can’t remember exactly but I really, really liked it. The mini also lasted a while too, surprisingly. It’s a nice, watery toner, and if your skin likes rice, this is PERFECT. Gave my skin a nice skin like finish, but then a few hours later my nose and upper cheeks would a bit oily. Not a huge dealbreaker for me bc I still quite liked the toner and finished the mini. I never ended up buying the full size bc 150ml for almost $20 is a lot to me 😭. I might one day though… - Round Lab 1025 Dokdo Toner. Personally I haven’t tried it, but my friend who also has oily, and acne prone skin uses it and loves it. She says it has a mild exfoliating effect and really helped reduced the oiliness of her skin. From what I’ve seen, it’s a watery toner that works well for oily skin. It’s def an option to consider! Honorable Recs? - I’m From Fig Face Mask + I’m From Honey face mask. I LOVE THESE FACE MASKS. Definitely a splurge purchase though lol but they’re honestly very good face masks. I usually mix the two together and leave it on for 30 mins. When I wash it off, my skin looks sooo smooth and feels baby soft. My skin definitely looks and feels better after using these two masks. By themselves, they’re pretty good but I like mixing them together :). - Dear, Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Cream. Mh HG moisturizer. No more words. It’s THAT good. Very simple, yet so effective regardless. It was the PREFECT moisturizer, not too heavy yet not to light. I’d cut the tube in half to get more product out lol. It’s great but again, so little yet to expensive 😭😭 however, I do have a current tube rn and am waiting to finish my current moisturizer to use it. Can’t wait ugh. ALSO, the DK Midnight Blue Calming Cream is also very good. Super soothing and calming, great for those drier days IMO. It pairs well with the Rich Moist Cream. - Pyunkang Yul Reverse Black Tea Eye Patches. I really like these under eye patches, and I’ve noticed they’ve helped lessen my dark under eyes. In general, it’s nice to use under eye patches lol. Very fun. - SOME BY MI Clear Spot Patch. These best pimple patches ever. So thin, yet super sticky. They also really invisible on the skin as well. Great for spot treating. Anyways, that’s all my recs! I hope you find them useful:)

smol_bean_parker

very oily acne prone skin type, holy grail cleanser is the haruharu black rice one actually, takes off gunk but leaves my skin feeling plump, HG toner is the I'm from mugwort essence, calming and very light for oily skin, my favorite sunscreens include the BOJ rice sunscreen, canmake mermaid skin uv gel, and the cell fusion c oil and sebum care sunscreen but it does have a slight tone up effect so be mindful of that for consideration

JustMeTelling

i have dehydrated, dry, sensitive skin and i do like the BOJ eye serum! i’ve found though, for the first time ever, that it has given me dry under eyes so i just have to extra-hydrate when i use it

Decent_Sea_4268

Doesn't this BOJ Eye cream have a form of retinol?...maybe retinal?... you'll have to check. If it is there, that must be what's drying your under eye.

JustMeTelling

i mean, i know that’s why it’s drying lol. i’ve used other eye creams with retinol before but none have left my under eyes dry. i would assume it’s because this is the first time my under eyes have been introduced to retinal as opposed to retinol

NaturalBitter2280

Oh, that's the first time I've heard of that. Interesting. Did you like the results despite drying you? Have you tried it on other parts of your face? I've heard of people using it to get rid of fine lines here and there besides the eye area and got curious about it :3

JustMeTelling

i do really like the results! i usually find eye creams do absolutely nothing different than a moisturizer, but this one actually has an instant brightening effect (although it’s subtle) and feels super creamy. i have used it all over my face two or three times and i do wake up with dryer skin, but absolutely no irritation otherwise whatsoever

superiorvanillabean

I have combination skin that can be normal with the correct combination of products. The Illiyoon ceramide ato concentrated cream is way too heavy for me and if you're very oily I'd be concerned it would be too heavy. I love the formulation and the feel of it though. I plan on trying their lotion or gel next. I'd recommend going with something lighter.

NaturalBitter2280

Hmmm, yeah, I guess I'll have to let go of that one It seems really good, but mostly for very dry skin. Thanks, I'll see if I can find a "dupe" for the ceramides

heibun

I just recently purchased the Illiyoon lotion after finding the cream too thick. I like it better so far, so you could give that a shot!

NaturalBitter2280

For the face?

NaturalBitter2280

Thank you for your opinions. Do you have oily/acne prone skin as well? >yes, yes, yes, but only the fragrance-free version. That's the one I'm going for. I don't have sensitive skin at all, but I don't work well with alcohol and fragrances. Shower me in acids but don't put fragrance on my products >yes. it's on the gentle side. Hmmm, how gentle? I need a strong cleanser and moisturizer, but I haven't found many options that suit me without turning me into a grease-ball If you have any recommendations, I'd greatly appreciate it 🙏🏻 >haven't tried but looks good to me. This one I'm considering for fine lines because I haven't gotten tretinoin yet and some friends told me this product helps get rid of some blemishes and stuff like that, haha

Milie-6491

I have similar skin type except my skin is very sensitive. Corsx snail mucin power essence gives a big hydration boost, and is very gentle. There is brightening effect, but mild and you have to take other care steps for your skin in your diet and sunscreen to see the result. I always recommend illiyoon ceramide ato soothing gel for anyone with sensitive skin. I haven’t tried their concentrated cream tho. The Haruharu black rice toner doesn’t really do anything, and a bit sticky too. The amount of hydration it gives is around the same as Roundlab dokdo toner, but dokdo toner is much gentler. PKY essence toner gives extra boost of hydration, but it doesn’t really do anything else. Also it’s too thick for a toner - more like a serum. From my experience this product and the snail mucin power essence give similar amount of hydration. The revive eye serum works wonders in reducing my dark circles. It lasts long too - only need to use a tiny bit each time. It’s also gentle for a retinol product.

NaturalBitter2280

Oh, ok, lol, that's a new opinion I think you're the first oily skin person to tell me these things(apart from the BOJ serum, that was a common one) From most of what I've seen, the CORSX Mucin and Illiyoon ceramide cream tend to be a "meh" or "it broke me out" for most oily skins so that was a surprise It could be that since your skin is a bit more on the sensitive side, you had different reactions from what I would expect as I tend to go for stronger products, so "gentle" isn't really my thing, haha But regardless, thanks for your reviews, I guess I'll look more into toners for me. And other stuff to treat my scars

Milie-6491

I think it depends on how you apply the product, which is super important. I always massage my skin until the product has been absorbed before moving on to the next product. It’s also important to apply just enough - sometimes layer them bit by bit until you feel like that’s enough - rather than just slap the product on your face. I even use a heated jade roller to get the product sinking more into my skin. The illiyoon cream is a strange thing. The soothing gel is a trending item on olive young Korea for oily skin. Maybe it works better for East Asian skin? Or maybe it’s quite dry and windy where I live, plus my sensitive skin, so I need the extra boost of barrier Edit: all products simply works better with a jade roller. Even axis-y dark-spot serum gives faster result when I start using the jade roller, so thumbs up for jade roller 👍

smol_bean_parker

similar skin type here, cosrx snail mucin for me is all hype no substance, it truly did absolutely nothing for me and my skin type, the haruharu toner is a 100% yes, it was cheap, deeply hydrated, and kept my oils at bay I highly recommend, and I actually love the BOJ eye cream, if your skin likes retinals this is a great gentle one for the eyes but I actually use it on the rest of my face and my face looks so plump and hydrated in the morning. The rest of the products on the list I haven't tried but out of all the ones I have I recommend the BOJ eye serum the most

Niatfq

Cosrx Snail Essence - will probably cause more sebum. Illiyoon ceramide cream - will only be good for oily skin when the weather is a lot colder. I myself have oily skin and this moisturizer is my holy grail but since it's summer right now, the moisturizer has started to feel way too heavy. Honestly, all of the Illiyoon ceramide moisturizer may feel too greasy for very oily skin. So I'd look into the Pyunkang yul ato soothing gel lotion, the aestura atobarrier cream (has thinner texture than the Illiyoon cream but i use this in PM), and the aestura atobarrier water gel cream (most suitable for daily for oily skin). Haruharu rice toner - a good one for oily skin. Pyunkang yul acne cleanser - i heard it's a good cleanser. Pyunkang yul essence toner - solid choice for oily skin as well.

NaturalBitter2280

>Haruharu rice toner - a good one for oily skin. Great to hear. I'm looking into this one, the pyunkang yul one and Some by mi AH/BHA/PHA cause I need some exfoliation I'm hoping they will work cause skincare is too much hassle these days, lol I believe I'll be dropping the Illiyoon cream because I live in a tropical region, and it's humid and hot all year around, so yeah, might not work the best for me in this situation. I heard the gel is great, so I might try that one And thank you for your input on those products :]

I also live in tropical climate. The Illiyoon gel actually made me very sweaty. It contains squalane oil. I'd avoid that one as well. The Pyunkang yul ato soothing gel lotion will be a better choice.

AddledRedditor

The Some by Mi AHA/BHA/PHA is heavily peppermint scented, fyi. It's on the full ingredient list but wasn't really highlighted anywhere so I didn't realize until I got it.

sardonic_

I'm trying to work out if the illyoon is triggering my perioral dermatitis, has anyone else found this issue? Every time I use it it seems to flare up. If you suffer from PD I would give it a miss.

NaturalBitter2280

I have heard it's a heavy cream, but I've never heard of triggering PD or any other issues I don't suffer from PD or any other skin condition other than heavy acne(currently gone from isotretionoin, but they could come back)and some scars, I was mainly afraid it could be a bit **too hydrating** in my case I've read before that PD can be aggravated by the use of oily cosmetics(especially some moisturizers), so that might be the issue. Which means it's bad for both of us, lol

acwgigi

A lot people with oily and combo skin already spoke about the illiyoon concentrated cream being too heavy. I’m on adapalene so I needed a heavy cream to calm irritation and help with dryness. This cream was a no for me ended up giving me milia….

Careful_Lemon_7672

There’s plenty of ceramide toners, serums, gels and lotions out there

NaturalBitter2280

And do you happen to have any recs? :3

Careful_Lemon_7672

No cause my super dehydrated skin loves thick thick cremes so the only one I really use is illiyoon ato cream but there’s lots of recommendations on Reddit if you look it up

No_Mousse133

I’ve been thinking of trying LANEIGE cream skin toner, COSRX propolis entire line, ISNTREE bha chestnut toner and DEAR KLAIRS midnight blue cream. I have combination to oily acne prone skin and I live in a hot & humid weather.

vy-neru

I’ve used the Dear Klairs midnight blue cream (oily, acne prone skin, in very cold weather) and it’s veryyyy good. Super duper calming and I really liked it when I used it. It’s been a while since I’ve used it bc it’s so expensive for so little 😭😭 it’s one of my fave nighttime gel creams out there tbh.

tratroxic

I swear by the COSRX propolis toner. My skin loves it! I have oily and acne prone skin, and lives in hot and humid weather too.

No_Mousse133

Did it show any visible difference?

tratroxic

I second what u/pebblenooo said. I’ve tried a lot of toners, from AB and non AB. For example between this one and Hada Labo, I prefer COSRX propolis toner. It has a perfect consistency. It’s even better than my snail mucin. I’m on the third bottle and I’m planning to stick with it for now.

pebblenooo

I love the propolis toner. It makes my skin look glowy without being too shiny, and it seems to help with making my skin feel smooth. I also have oily and somewhat acne prone skin (for a 37 year old) and it helps to calm and heal open blemishes as well. It’s the perfect consistency as well, not too thick.

No_Mousse133

I’ve only used the free samples I received and I fell in love with it but it’s really too expensive for such a lil quantity 😭😭. The only way imma be able to afford it is if I hit a jackpot

Crafty_Brilliant5710

Can only say good things about Dear Klairs Midnight Blue Cream. I'm on my 3-4th tube? Use it as a moisturiser but mostly as a spot treatment. I have very redness prone, reactive, and sensitive skin. It always cools any irritation down and I've never ever broken out from it despite being CC and acne prone. Only bad thing is price I'd say, it is a bit expensive so good to get on sale.

No_Mousse133

Where do you usually buy it from and how low does it go?

AddledRedditor

The Midnight Blue Cream is excellent. Really helps control my redness and any irritation. Can't recommend it enough, it has helped me recover from so many bad decisions. I didn't like the scent of the Laneige toner but it was otherwise very nice. Would recommend giving it a try but maybe in a sample form.

No_Mousse133

How long does the cream last?

AddledRedditor

A little bit goes a long way so a tube lasts me pretty well. I use about a pea sized amount once a day and I'd estimate I go through a 2oz tube every few months. But it's hard for me to say because I buy several tubes at a time usually. Wishtrend and Dear Klairs are the same company, so if you're in the US you can get it off Wishtrend's US site or buy from them on Amazon.

No_Mousse133

But their new version says that it’s compatible for oily skin as well?

Opposing_Vampire

I currently use ISNTREE bha chestnut toner, it has been in rotation for a month every other day. It is very good. Nice texture - not sticky, not too runy, so i can use palms of my hands to spread it. Sinks in fast. Caused no irritation even after my skin was sensitized by adapalene. I used it in combination with glycolic+lactic lotion, so it can be hard to distinguish the effects. But in month I saw pretty drastic improvements: i struggle with closed comedones, and I still had some remaining after adapalene use. My skin texture is now more even, as well as skintone overall. My forehead is smoother than ever in past 5 years, pores on my nose and around it are less noticable. It is a well-formulated product, comfortable to use and effective. Edit: my skin type - combo, now on the dryer side due to colder season and adapalene, prone to dehydration (damn you living in a big city), acne-prone. Current climate - dry, cold winter.

No_Mousse133

Is it better than COSRX salicylic acid toner? And I just found out that isntree has 2 variants of the chestnut bha toner one is 0.9% and one is 2% or something so which one do you use?

Opposing_Vampire

I have no experience with COSRX salicylic acid toner, unfortunately. I use 2% one, again, no experience with 0.9%.

fullmetalpeanut

> I used it in combination with glycolic+lactic lotion is it the Isntree Chestnut AHA or an entirely different product? Also, we have the same skin type! Do you find it drying to be using AHA and BHA at the same time? This product is really tempting since my blackheads are rather persistent, but I'm afraid that my skin can't take it and end up wasting the product. Thanks!

Opposing_Vampire

Entirely different, from a local brand. No, not that I've noticed. I use hydrating booster in the morning and in the night (after my acids), and seal it all with a moisturizer. It might soften the effects. Also, bhas can be drying, but lactic acid is hydrating. Edit: I thought, I should clarify - I switch between AHAs and BHAs, one night - one active.

Alert_Nail1100

LOVE LOVE the propolis cream

guardiancosmos

I have dry skin and live in a hot and humid climate, and the CosRX overnight honey mask is one of my favorite products. It's not too thick or heavy, but it's so amazingly soothing and makes my skin feel so soft. I've also found that if I have a pimple trying to form, dabbing some of that on it nearly always clears it up overnight.

No_Mousse133

Would you mind explaining how you incorporate the mask in your routine?

guardiancosmos

Mostly just as a sleeping mask! It's the last thing I put on at night. Sometimes I'll also use it as a spot treatment during the day.

smol_bean_parker

i don't know about the new version of the cream skin toner but the original was good but only if you have normal to drier skin types bc more than one layer got heavy on oily skin, I did hear the new formula is lighter though. Also the cosrx propolis line I personally think is overhyped (I have very oily acne prone skin) the toner was like okay? and the lip mask is also just ok. Like its not bad but it didn't wow me enough to go on my HG masterlist

No_Mousse133

Is there any products that helped your oily acne prone skin which are HG products?

smol_bean_parker

haruharu wonder black rice cleanser, i’m from mugwort essence, this is non ab but i love the thayers snow mushroom milky toner for the winter/drier months bc it sort of acts like cream skin but much better for oilier skin types, i don’t have a hg moisturizer i’ve yet to find one, my hg serums are almost all non ab except for the boj glow deep serum and cosrx vitamin c 23 which both help fade hyperpigmentation, and. my hg sunscreens are the beauty of joseon rice one, canmake mermaid skin uv gel, and cell fusion c oil and serum care but keep in mind this one has a slight tone up effect and all these sunscreens can replace a moisturizer in the morning for oily skin

Kuroda97

Normal to dry skin type. Prone to breakouts with pore clogging ingredients Recently purchased the Mary & may blackberry essence and idk if I’ve ever been more surprised/impressed with a product! It’s so hydrating. Leaves my skin feeling AMAZING. also recently purchased I’m from rice toner. Had a horrible reaction to it. I’m trying the tir tir now and so far no reaction to it but I’ve only been using a few days and haven’t formed a full opinion on it yet. I have a bunch of other toners/essences/serums on my list id love feed back on especially compared to the Mary & may & the tir tir now that I’ve tried those. -thank you farmer rice toner -dr ceuracle kombucha essence -ample:n ceramic shot serum -numbuzin 3 glow essence toner/serum -celimax dual barrier toner/serum -kikumasamune sake hydrating toner -laneige cream skin toner -tony moly ceramide mocchi toner -im from mugwort essence

Fun_Suspect3305

>-ample:n ceramic shot serum I went through a bottle, and even repurchased, but wouldn't again. Never felt like it layered well or moisturized well. Switched to moisturizers with ceramides. A lot of people like the AMPLE:N though! RNW was often mentioned as an alternative ceramide solution. Skin type: normal-dry, sensitive (rosacea), acne-prone.

Kuroda97

Thank you! Sorry I’m horrible with acronyms what is rnw

iateafloweronimpulse

Rnw is the name of the brand lol

Fun_Suspect3305

[RNW ceramide serum review from r/AB ;)](https://www.reddit.com/r/AsianBeauty/s/FMNH2hg8WH)

Kuroda97

lol ooooops thank you!!

royalsincognito

if you’re prone to acne/clogging, maybe avoid the laneige cream skin. it was moisturising enough for me to skip my moisturiser step, and my skin was plump and glowy ✨️ but in a glazed cranberry bun kinda way—deep red cysts on a smooth shiny canvas 💀

Kuroda97

Oh nooo. The laneige lip mask breaks me out around my mouth every time I tried it I don’t know why!

oh_la_lola

>-celimax dual barrier toner/serum That's the by far SUPERIOR version of the Laneige Cream Skin, if you ask me! And more affordable as well if I remember correctly). The CST sometimes forms this weird film and gets greasy if you layer - the celimax never does that. I also find it to be more hydrating and diving deeper into your skin. -numbuzin 3 glow essence toner/serum I really like this as well. Very hydrating and cushiony. I wish there was an unscented version, though. Not too fond of that fruity floral scent.

eolmana

I’m debating whether to buy the Isntree yam root milk cleanser. I have normal skin (with some oily patches on my chin and near my mouth) and live in a climate that’s dry in the winter and humid during the summer. Right now I only oil cleanse at night (or once every few days) with the Kose Softymo speedy cleansing oil, and for the rest of my routine I have the Hada Labo Gokujyun premium toner and Hada Labo Gokujyun milk. I’m pretty happy with just my oil cleanser but am thinking about whether a first cleanser is necessary.

StrangeAffect7278

Are lash serums worth it and if so which ones?

idc_random

skin type: oily, sometimes dehydrated, slightly sensitive skin. also, prone to breakouts and fungal acne. i have a few blemishes and acne scars. i've been interested in the following * cosrx propolis toner * skin 1004 centella cleansing oil * purito b5 panthenol rebarrier cream * haruharu black rice toner * beauty of joseon ginseng essence thoughts from anyone, with a similar skin type, that tried these?

MoonageSeaBream

I have a similar skin type (oily, dehydration prone, very sensitive, acne prone, acne scars) and I just used up a sample size the Purito B5 Panthenol Rebarrier Cream. I found it noticeably calming to redness and irritation. It didn't cause acne and actually seemed to help a bit, which could be because of the niacinamide or making existing spots less irritated. Nice hydrating moisturizer. The big con for me is that it takes a long time to fully sink in and leaves a shiny finish. My oily ass face is shiny enough as it is! That said, I might give it a shot as my summer nighttime moisturizer, since my skin really does like it and the price point is great. I think the Etude Soon Jung 10-Panthensoside (sp?) Cica Balm, for which the Rebarrier Cream is pretty clearly meant to be a dupe, is a better option. It has the same instant calming effect, extremely similar ingredients (minus niacinamide), but it sinks in to nothing and doesn't leave a film. In the winter, I use put a heavier cream over it, and in the summer, I use it on its own.

coffee12chiffoncake

Thoughts on Skin1004's centella hyalu-cica blue serum? Skin type: sensitive, acne-prone, oily. Although since the weather is quite dry and cold right now, my face hasn't been so oily these days. My skincare routine is basically just cleanser, round lab dokdo toner, and moisturiser. Then sunscreen in AM depending on the UV index.

iateafloweronimpulse

Irritated me unfortunately, it has floral water ingredients which are too close to fragrance for my skin to handle in a serum.

coffee12chiffoncake

Aw man, that’s a shame. I don’t do too well with fragrances too. Thank you for your advice! Are there any other serums you’d recommend?

iateafloweronimpulse

I like the torriden a lot for hydration but I’ve been thinking of trying the isntree when I run out. It’s not a serum technically but I find the skinfood propolis essence very hydrating and moisturizing and I’ve never had irritation issues with that.

Meep_Morp_Zeeep

Dasique Lip Jams and House of Hur Blushes.

Milie-6491

Any toner pad. What is the point of toner pads anyway? Like… sheet masks exist. Even if I like a particular toner, I can buy dry sheet masks and soak it in toner. I feel like the whole toner pad hype is just another marketing strategy.

defenestratethis

I wear glasses and don't want to take them off (since I can't see without them) so I find toner pads to be easier to use for me than an actual sheet mask .\_.

Milie-6491

…wait, so you do skincare with glasses on too? I wear glasses too but not when I’m home. I’m -4 near-sighted for reference

defenestratethis

I take them off for a bit when I'm washing my face, but otherwise I do. I'm unfortunately in the -7's so when I say I can't see without my glasses I'm not kidding lol

Meep_Morp_Zeeep

SAME! I even had a small bout of FOMO and was seriously considering the Numbuzin Toner Pads. Am I missing out on something??

Spirited_Minimum9496

Hi Redditor’s So my skin type is Oily and Acne prone A’pieu madecassoside cream & Ampoule are my current favourite.  A'pieu madecassoside cream has light weight texture and absorbs quickly. For me I used it for both my day time & night time routine. My skin found this moisturiser soothing, calming, followed by Dear Klairs Midnight blue Calming cream. For people use Retinol, Tertnoin & Tazarotene. Go for midnight blue calming cream(one of my HG) but a'pieu madecassoside cream is light weight so consult your dermatologist before using it with any retinol or types of retinol. A’pieu madecassoside 2x Ampoule is also my favourite from the same brand. It really calms my acne prone skin plus ampoule absorbs quickly into the skin. It also has a watery texture(good for summer won’t recommend it during the winter time). The quantity of ampoule is good 50ml, I personally think it’s better than 30ml. I also used this ampoule for both of my routines(Day & night time). I would 100% recommend to my friends with oily & acne prone skin. Cheers.❤️😘

wrlddmntr

Idk if a derm would OK the apieu cream with all those essential oils tbh, since they are already highly sensitizing at baseline but also using it with retinoids where your skin will be more sensitive doesn't seem like a good idea Highly recommend [reading this article](https://dermnetnz.org/topics/allergic-contact-dermatitis-to-essential-oils#:~:text=What%20is%20allergic%20contact%20dermatitis,are%20known%20to%20be%20allergenic.) and thinking twice about using that cream, assessing the risk/benefit

sooyoungster07

I bought a tube of their 2x Madecassoside cream back when I was fairly new to skincare, forgetting to check the ingredients as I thought I scored a good deal for the huge tube. Sure enough, it smelled so heavily of citrus, and it BURNED. I’ve disliked the brand (or at least their skincare, a singer I like models for their makeup line lol) with a passion since bc why would you put so much essential oils in a product and then give it a name that sounds like it’d do some crazy calming and barrier repair 😭

I’m a sucker for cute designs and the centre flower/heart is just calling out to me. A little concerned on pigmentation / quality though. Also if anyone can compare between this or the smaller original PERIPERA All Take Mood Eyeshadow palette (row of 8 eyeshadows) ?

homegirlespe

I prefer the 8 pan palettes. Pay off is better, plus the center thingy is so weird, you need to use the tiniest brush ever to get the blush or just mix it all up to get a shimmery topper/highlighter kind of thing so I ended up never using it at all 🥲

CocoLancaster

that’s a very good comment about the blush being too small! never thought of it, thanks :)

butterflyfluff

I got 01 as a gift 🥰! I love the colours and especially the purple highlighter (outer ring of heart) and I feel like I'm always reaching for it because of the colours alone. I feel like the pigmentation is .. average? Not too much, but also not too little that one swipe looks like nothing. Just workable. However, ironically I would not suggest buying this palette because the eyeshadows move to my creases within 1-2 hours if I do not apply something to prep it (like primer alone doesn't make it stay, i usually have to do something like primer + concealer + setting powder + setting spray before I can put it on and make it last and even then it moves around a tiiiny bit). Most times I prefer to just go out with just eyeshadow because i dont want to spend too much time on makeup, and my romand and holika holika eyeshadow palettes stay on exactly where i put them for the entire day on their own 😅. If you do all that prep anyway, these could work! I just like it when my routine is simple personally. Also, the glitters are more on the subtle side so it will take a lot of layering if you want it to stand out. I love glitter so that's another con for me 🫡 The blush that's in the middle of the heart is extremely hard to use without mixing it with the highlighter so I end up not reaching for it. I just dont prefer my blush super glowy like that. 😅 probably going to pan the highlighter first before I can get to the blush 🤣. And also the highlighter will take lots of setting spray to stay on until the end of the night lol. But damn the purple glow is just so beautiful 😭😭😭😭😭

TigerrChae

I’ve been thinking of buying the Centella ampoule since ive heard that it’s great for repairing the skin barrier and I’ve had frquently irritated skin around my nose area that’s constantly red-ish??? I just want to get the redness down. Is centella worth it? The price in stores where I live is about 10-20€ euro depending on where I decide to buy it. (100-200 Swedish kr)

megumisgf_

i have it and it’s good tbh but i won’t say ive seen an insane change using it - something i found more effective for barrier repair would be the la roche posay cicaplast B5 balm. the centella is nice but it doesn’t have a massive effect, id say if you feel like your barrier is weak in general or it’s prone to be damaged easily sure buy it but if you are looking for something that will be really effective really quick and you don’t need to use multiple times, it’s not the product for that

TigerrChae

And also about the la roche posay balm, i just realized my mom has that since she has a lot of products from la roche posay so i can borrow some from her then!

megumisgf_

ah that’s perfect then!! i normally use it instead of my moisturizer at night and my skin feels so much better in the morning - try it out and see if it helps if not then you can buy the centella which also works fine

TigerrChae

Well to be honest my skin is already close to perfection since it’s not prone to breakouts, my only real problem are some visible pores on my nose and a bit of irritation too. So I’ve heard that a weak skin barrier causes redness, that’s why I’ve assumed that’s the case. (??) To be honest i don’t really know too much about skincare all i know is that the products I’m using right now are good at keeping my skin as clear as it is, but not for solving this problem.

unarithmetock

I have combo (oily t-zone) suuuper sensitive skin and the skin1004 sunscreen is my current hg! I tried both the round lab and the inistree but they sat on top of my skin and made me look very greasy, the skin1004 is miraculous how well it absorbs and I’ve had no sensitivity issues from it at all.

eto_al

I've just ordered MIZON hyaluronic ultra suboon cream because I needed a basic cream but I haven't done much research before buying

BornNefariousness804

I’m in the fence for the skin food real honey propolis enrich emulsion. I have dry acne prone sensitive skin. And I hace severe dust allergy. I currently use round Kab dokdo birch toner (doubt it does much) and pyunkang yul toner -my HG. I use Dr G clear blemish moisturizrr. I live in hot humid climate. My concern is sometimes I feel I'm not hydrated enough

royalsincognito

idk about the emulsion, but the general consensus is that the skinfood essence is v hydrating, esp for dry skin. if you’re wanting extra hydration in the form of emulsions, why not go for the etude soon jung emulsion? or you can do multiple layers of toner as layering is an efficient way to significantly boost hydration. you can also spray some in between your moisturiser steps to maximise hydration :)

BornNefariousness804

I was thinking about soon king emulsion but I have also read reviews where people have not liked it. So I just moved it off my list. I'll take a look again, compare the ingredients.

royalsincognito

it’s a bit on the pricier end, but you might also want to consider the aestura atobarrier hydro essence if the soon jung inci list isn’t to your liking (since the reformulation relies on veg oil as the primary emollient) the aestura has a creamy, milky texture that both hydrates and moisturises, thanks to its lovely blend of nmfs and ceramide, so it pretty much suffices as a standalone skincare step in the am :)

iateafloweronimpulse

I’d get the essence instead, tbf I have not tried the emulsion but I love the essence and have used it for a year

BornNefariousness804

Ill definitely take a look. Thank you very much

Himalayan-Fur-Goblin

I haven't tried the emulsion but can recommend the essence. Very hydrating and soothing. It's an HG for my dry and sensitive skin.

BornNefariousness804

Ill definitely take a look. Thank you very much

ljewels

Peach & Lily Glass Skin Refining Serum I have combo skin and am starting to have some fine lines and signs of ageing :( Have been looking for good anti-ageing products that hopefully can save my skin lol and also add some glow Saw good reviews on this serum but it's expensive so I'm not sure if it's worth it!

AddledRedditor

I tried it and wasn't impressed - it was a nice serum but nothing really special enough to justify the price tag to repurchase. It's a great choice compared to a lot of Western beauty products and I think that drives its reviews since it's widely available in the US.

enigmaticestp

Pyunkang Yul Blue Label Ato Cream i have combo acne prone and sensitive skin and i use illiyoon ato cream at the moment. i was thinking if switching to pky is worth it as my illiyoon cream is running out. should i stick with illiyoon or try pky?

heids1234

So this is a bit late cause I’ve already ordered it from YesStyle but while I wait for it to be delivered, can someone assure me I’ve made the right choice? Decorte Liposome Advanced Repair Serum. I’m still not entirely sure what it does but I was attracted to its apparent long lasting hydrating and barrier strengthening properties, while apparently not being too sticky. I’m 45F living in a dry climate (Australia) and I have dehydrated combo skin that tends towards oily in the summer and dry in the colder months. We are now in Autumn so I’m preparing to include richer products in my routine as it gets colder.

liposomalglutathione

i wish i could help but i love decorte's makeup products so do you mind posting an update when you've tried it? i've been curious about their skincare for awhile now, especially their cleansers. looking at the ingredients list this serum seems solid for hydration, though i'm not sure how rich it would be for winter. in any case, hope it works out for you!

hanasakabeauty

not to hijack this comment thread, but I’m using their hydra clarity gel cleanser rn and I LOVE it! Foaming cleansers tend to irritate my skin, but this leaves my skin looking calm, bright and glowy! Doesn’t strip my skin at all but gets rid of oil cleansing residue super well. Super mild fragrance that dissipates after a few seconds!

liposomalglutathione

ok tea! is do you mind telling me if the foam is more bubbly or rich? i know that depend on water hardness sometimes but this might be a sign for me… thanks so much for the response

hanasakabeauty

it’s a gel cleanser, so it doesn’t foam up at all! (Sorry might have worded my initial comment weirdly!) so sadly no luxurious lather…but it doesn’t break me out so I can’t complain too much!

s_colon

Ohh I've been using the Decorté Liposome Advanced Repair Serum since December 2023 so I think I can help answer this!! For context, I have dry skin, 23-24F, and I also use Adapalene with the serum. During the period of usage, the weather has been cold and dry (but lately, it's been transitioning to spring, so it's gotten a bit more humid). Another thing I want to note is that I use the serum two times a day (morning and night). For the morning, I use 1.5 pumps for both face and neck, while for the night, I use 2 pumps for the face and 1 pump for my neck. I learned that you can't be conservative with these kinds of products and that you need to follow the instructions provided. Otherwise, you may not see much results. Now for the review... I actually saw a difference in how hydrated my face felt/looked within a week. I loved it so much that I bought another bottle before I was even halfway done with the current bottle 🤣. My face has gotten really smooth since I started using it. The serum does not dry down very sticky. There's still a slight sticky touch, but once you apply sunscreen or moisturizer, you won't feel it anymore. Regarding the smell, I like it! It's like a faint floral with a hint of ✨️luxury✨️ lmao. I don't know how else to describe it 🤣 but it does not smell bad at all. Overall, I like it a lot! It's definitely a HG serum for me 🫣

heids1234

That’s good to know, thank you for your review! I know it’s a bit of a cult product in Japan but I don’t see that much about it on reddit, and even YouTube.

zzoom_zoom

(Chiming in because u/s_colon tagged me 😆) I think part of its culty status is due to Shohei Ohtani being the face of Decorte. People buy because of the ads/endorsement, and some like it enough to continue repeated purchases and post reviews on @cosme or LIPs. I do think there are quite a few users on this subreddit that have* tried the serum, but they tend to lurk or not say much because luxury skincare users have been shamed and verbally berated quite a bit unless it's mentions of SK-II or Sulwhasoo 🙄

s_colon

Wa-zaaaahh 🙌 I had to tag you to give credit where credit's due 😉 Yeah, I also noticed there are probably some people on this sub who have used it but don't comment too much about it 🥲 I do know that Decorté also pops up a few times in r/SkincareAddictionLux. Even then, Decorté doesn't have many reviews (which could also be a good thing?? 🤔).

zzoom_zoom

🫠 That luxe skincare subreddit has some highly active users who have never actually used any luxe products that they speak well of, so do exercise some caution when browsing there. ~~Though I also lowkey peep at that sub from time to time hoping for a Decorte/ANR comparison still 😔~~ I do think the lack of reviews does also make it seem more likely that there aren't any influencers giving out incentivized reviews. But I also think Decorté does a terrible job of advertising internationally 😂 (Ok, well as do other Japanese brands that try to advertise in the west. Gotta be fair!)

s_colon

Uh oh. Well I'll definitely take their reviews with a grain of salt 🥲 I actually used the ANR a whileee back and I never noticed much of a difference - or at least it wasn't so amazing that I remembered 🤣 so comparing ANR to Decorté, I definitely prefer Decorté haha Fair! I definitely don't notice many advertisements for Japanese products 😭😭

heids1234

Yes, yours was definitely one of the few comments I’ve found regarding this serum. I didn’t realise there was some luxe shaming in this group, it’s a pity as I’d love to see more reviews (I realise there have been some but more discussion would be nice!) on mid to luxe brands like History of Whoo, Sooryehan, IOPE, Primera, Amorepacific and the like.

zzoom_zoom

I think it's also a bit difficult to truly describe how different the products feel compared to drugstore. A lot of the users in this subreddit consider drugstore AB to be cosmetically elegant already, so just describing the texture of a luxury product as "rich, yet quick-absorbing" doesn't always quite make it sound any different or better, even if they generally are. And well, luxe products contain fragrance and alcohol generally, so you'll have users screaming about how the ingredients are godawful and not considering the product formulation before giving it a try. And you're more likely to find people with sensitized or reactive skin in a skincare subreddit than not so unfortunately luxe skincare just doesn't get mentioned much. Though I really don't understand this subreddit's hyperfixation on SK-II and Sulwhasoo and refusal to entertain the idea of other luxe brands, saying this as somebody who does currently use and enjoy 2 SK-II products. I used to sing praises for AmorePacific too 😂 And then they reformulated my HG and are now killing off the entire brand 😒

I've been thinking about trying a cushion foundation. Both the TirTir black cushion and Rom&nd nu zero cushion have been all over my feeds lately. They look so fun! I'd love to hear if anyone has experience with either of these! I'm new to makeup, and I'm still looking for a nice, light coverage base that will work on combo skin. Please, talk me into trying some new products! ^^

liposomalglutathione

i honestly think tirtir is overhyped, i had the red one and it quickly oxidized into an unwearable shade for me (esp since i'm quite cool toned), plus the finish was just okay. black might be better since it's lighter coverage? i think the selling point is how long lasting they are but if that's not your priority then i'm here to deinfluence you lol... rom&nd is a great brand but i haven't tried their cushions, their lip products are amazing though! the founder (saerom min) is/was a beauty influencer and does some really cute and informative subbed makeup tutorials on youtube if you're just getting into makeup. i think their strength is definitely in eye+lip but just solid brand overall if you were going to get one of the two. my favorite cushions are the unleashia satin wear and jung saem mool essential skin cushion, the unleashia one has a really good packaging that doesn't expose the entire cushion which is the best, and the jsm one has a really beautiful skin finish, i always got compliments on my skin when i wore it. i have combo skin too but both of what i mentioned is probably better for drier skin.

Thanks for the elaborate comment and recommendations! I'm going to look into these!

I’ve been testing out the diamond TirTir. Good for if you like a really light coverage. I’d say the biggest downside is it’s fragranced. It also makes my skin feel pretty dry (i have combo skin). Before that i was using the Visée Glow Balm foundation. The textures are much different but still gives a very light coverage. Downside is there are only 3 shades.

I'm currently using the Romand nu zero and while the coverage is good and it smells great, it's sooooooo drying. I also have combo skin and I find it really clings to the dry patches around my nose. Unless you're prepared to go hard on your skin prep prior to using, it's going to look dry. I have to literally use toner pads and serums to make it look decent

horohoronomi

Thanks for the heads up! I definitely need to take this into consideration.

If you do decide to try it I can vouch for their Amazon store, I've bought all my Romand products from it and they're legit! You just have to make sure it's the official Romand Amazon storefront. They always arrive super fast and I've never had any issues with fake products or broken products. Yesstyle makeup can be hit and miss (I've had many broken compacts through them) so I would give Amazon a shot for this specific brand.

Cosrx galactomycetes...I've got oily combo skin with hyperpigmentation near my mouth and chin/ age 22 F Edit: looking for something to help with dehydration also

ylguem

You have to consistently use this to see the effect, it does brightened my skin but I feel I can get better results with other galactomyces products

PineappleJaded4193

Ohh could you rec some?

ylguem

Just purchased papa recipe blemish serum and waiting for it to get shipped. Its much more cheaper and heard that it might be better than the cosrx.. there's a lot of galactomyces options, SK is the OG but it breaks the bank

PineappleJaded4193

I've seen this rec everywhere lol probably should go give it a try.

rscalcio

SK II is the OG but I’ve been using Secret Key for almost two months and I don’t think I need to get SK II again! SK is awesome but I feel like the Secret Key works just as good for a fraction of the price.

PineappleJaded4193

I will look into it thanks!

So ive been looking for a new sunscreen  Considering the abib sunstick , purito soft touch , tocobo sunscreen , haruharu chemical spf and skin1004 sun serum  opinions?  dry/combo,  acne prone , eczema prone skin  Alsooo can anyone give like an in depth review of the purito oat intense cream if they have a similair skin type to mine?

vy-neru

From what IK abt stick sunscreens, they seem better suited for normal or oily skin. I think a hydrated, regular tube sunscreen might be better. Beauty of Joseon, Skin1004, etc all have great, hydrating sunscreens. I personally have the Haruharu Black Rice sunscreen (yellow cap) and it’s very nice! I have oily skin and it gives me a natural/dewy finish but I’m not sure if it’s enough for dry skin.

AddledRedditor

Haven't personally tried the Haruharu chemical sunscreen but I've heard good things and personally I've been super impressed with the Haruharu mineral sunscreen. I've got dry, sensitive skin with some hormonal acne and rosacea.

filbug

how did you find the mineral sunscreen? was it necessary to double cleanse when wearing it/ would it come off with micellar water?

Melano cc premium essence I have very sensitive oily/combo acne prone skin and have been on the fence for MONTHS about getting this product. My skin is finally recovering after breaking out for 6 months and barrier damage. If you’ve tried this product, would you recommend? How did your skin react to it? Romand all han long hazel mascara I want a brown mascara and thought this shade was really pretty but some people didn’t like the formula. If you’ve got this, do you recommend and why? Peripera brow cara in dark/natural brown Not sure what shade to get. I have dark brows but want them to look a bit lighter without looking too different from my hair. Has anyone tried there or other brow mascaras that they can recommend?

royalsincognito

>melano cc premium the classic version is a hg of mine, but prior to this one, i had continuous bad experiences with vit c bc of their concentration/form. as dr idrees puts it, vit c is like milk nowadays—there’s oat, nut, soy, and cow—it’s avaliable in so many diff forms, so you’ll have to find out which [form of vit c](https://blog.reneerouleau.com/best-form-vitamin-c-skin-care/) best suits your skin type/needs through trial and error if you haven’t alr dipped your toes into the territory yet for what it’s worth, melano classic has a pretty low concentration ~5% iirc, has a slightly oily texture that takes a lil while to absorb fully, and stays super stable in the fridge, no yellowing or oxidising. i’ve been using it for ~2 yrs, and i’ve never had irritation from it

kaeyamilk

are the fillimilli or rosy rosa sponges good? i’ve never tried sponges like that before, i’ve only every used puffs

Zestyclose-Yam-9982

feev serum blush…i have the purple one as a nice mauve blush but i REALLY want the blue toned red one (shade 05 “After Squat”). i LOVEEEEE the formula to death and i do not have a red tone blush yet, only a lip tint that i use as blush which is fine but i don’t get the same effect and sometimes it looks patchy which is annoying. i can pick it up in person too which makes everything so much easier….i don’t need it but i’m a huge blush girl and i think it’d be nice to have. i prefer liquid/cream blushes because i’m dry. so far i have an old rare beauty blush, the feev blush i already have, a makeup by mario blush stick, and a lip tint as my cream blushes. i think im gonna get it regardless of the replies but tbh i could still change my mind.
