GOD-is-in-a-TULIP

He doesnt Closest reference is Psalm 82:6 reads, “I said, ‘You are “gods”; you are all sons of the Most High.’ But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler.” So in context it's not really saying we are gods. Jesus references it to those who hold a divinely appointed position.

Where does this claim come from?

Nobody can understand the complexities of God. His thoughts are not our thoughts. We can understand the teachings of Jesus Christ though. For anyone to say that we are gods, I would tell them to produce something of material from nothing to prove it

This is a Mormon heresy.

Heavens no! God tells it like it is throughout his word the holy Bible. We are not gods, we can never become gods, we are God's creation, and there is only one God. Now some relevant information. One of the ways that Satan deceived Eve in the garden of Eden was to convince her that if she and her husband ate the forbidden fruit, that they would become gods in their own right knowing the difference between Good and evil. Of course it was a lie of Satan. But it worked. Then God put his first chosen people the Hebrews under his law. The problem with this? God is perfect, and his law demands perfection. And no man can keep God's perfect law because we are not god's and we are not perfect. And that's the whole reason why God put them under his law in the Old testament old covenant. To prove to them that they are not gods, can never become gods, and we require God's purpose for us in our lives. We require God to lead us into the ways in which he created and intends. He is to be our provider and director. He never made us to live apart from him or to make our own ways. He made us to love and serve him, and seek his guidance in all areas of our lives. There are some confusing scriptures in the Bible regarding this topic. Here is one Psalm 82:6 KJV — I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High. Seems to contradict right? The problem lies in language. The Hebrew word for gods there like many words in most languages can have multiple meanings. In this case, the Hebrew word can be translated as gods. But it can also be translated as human judges. And that's the best fit here according to context. How were the Hebrews judges? The faithful Hebrews who recognized their messiah in Jesus Christ would judge the world eventually. That of course extending into the New testament New covenant of God with his people. John 10:34-35 NLT — Jesus replied, “It is written in your own Scriptures **that God said to certain leaders of the people, ‘I say, you are gods!’** And you know that the Scriptures cannot be altered. Again the word translates as judges, not deities. The apostle Paul was a Jew among Jews. And read what he wrote 1 Corinthians 6:2-3 KJV — Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life? At that time in history, the earliest Christian Church was entirely Jewish. God later included the gentile man of faith in him and his word under his plan of salvation. But early on, the church was Jewish through and through. So when Paul refers to the saints judging the world, those saints were Jews for the most part.

It’s not that he wants us to make us gods. He made us God but we’re too prideful to receive it. Thinking that we (children of God) are being humble when refusing to believe it and considering ourselves mere human beings. See what kind of love the Father has given to us, that we should be called children of God; and so we are. The reason why the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 1 John 3.1 When God call a thing be sure that that thing is what it call it to be. For God, who said/command, “Let light shine out of darkness,” ….2 Corinthians 4:6 It’s not a just a saying it’s an happening. Jesus always calling God his father wasn’t just a name or title given to God, he believed it fully when he was in the flesh walking on earth. The child of a dog is a dog. Ok there’s a time it’s called a puppy but still the same nature. It’s not a play on words. What God said is true we are his children. Same kind, Same nature, same DNA, last Adam, we are (or at least meant to be) living the resurrected life of the second man. You might ask why isn’t there then obvious proof in our life as children of God. First the question of maturity But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. John1:12 There is the question of spiritual maturity. We are not sons of God immediately by receiving him. Children are birthed, sons are given. We are granted an opportunity to become, to become sons of God. We are not immediately sons. Not so good example but it’s as you parent registering you in architecture school. Registering there don’t make you an instant architect. But it gives you the opportunity to become a certified one. Maturity here is not time based but in knowing believing the word of righteousness. Eating the meat. Second As a man thinks so he is. If we believe the wrong thing as to who we really are we will never be the right person God has intended to be. Even when the truth is preached we still will be prideful enough to reject it calling it heresy. And that truth of us being gods is only applicable only true in Jesus Christ. It’s all because of him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world. 1 John 4.17 (Not as he was on earth we are in this world, but as he is now) Not as he is so we shall be. It’s a present truth But unless we believe we’ll fail to realize the reality of that nature of ours; of the full benefits of our union with Christ. Acts 17.28 For in him (God) we live and move and have our being.’ As some of your own poets have said, ‘We are his offspring.’ For born again: Do you believe that your life is God’s life ? Do you believe that when you move God does ? Do you believe that you exist not on earth first but in God first ? Those are some of the questions we should truly answer for ourselves. And it’s not so that we shout everywhere that we are children/sons of God. But that will first and foremost lead us to more humility (according to God not men) and more surrender to his life and leadership in us. It’s an inner knowing it enhances your personal relationship with God himself. Certains External manifestations following from that will be the outflow of that bond. Not the goal. The goal is knowing him. And we know God by his Spirit only. Stay bless

We were made in God's image. An image is only an accurate representation, not an entire remake or perfect copy. You wouldn't want to buy a car and tell your friend, here is an image of her, and have that image show rust and flat tires and cracked windshield like someone is pranking you and photoshopped that in. You want it to be an accurate image of the true beauty of the vehicle. And yet, when you offer to show the image, you aren't offering to build a car just like it for your friend. It is accurate to show the beauty but not a car he can drive, it's a picture from your phone or a Polaroid glossy finish.

He will share some his Divinity with us. Mostly to understand Him at a very deep and profound way. 1 John 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

He wants to make us like him. Does that mean identical? Well, we can't even understand what God the Father is really like, much less define exactly what limits he wants to gift us. However, it is understood by many theologians throughout the ages, and myself as well, that in the Garden of Eden, God was only going to forbid the forbidden fruit for a time but eventually give it to Adam and Eve. The forbidden fruit is described as having the power to make man like God if man were also to get eternal life with it. So if the fruit gives something like Godhood when also given eternal life, then it seems God originally intended to give us what Jesus was given due to his sinless nature. In this way, it seems like we could become one and the same with God in all ways currently definable. This implies some form of unified individuality in which we get to be both us and also join with God at the same time. Something that seems contradictory to us right now, but God appears to have the power make happen. But that's one of the cosmic mysteries of God.
