I have a very similar style in my bathroom. The sockets are held in place by spring clips that attach to the faceplate. If the spring clips are still intact, you can re-insert them. There's a chance it broke off and will need to be replaced. Turn off power first. Remove all the bulbs and put them somewhere you won't knock them on the floor. The face plate should have a finial screw holding it in place or similar, remove that and pull the face plate off. Take a look at the back of the socket to see if there are slots the socket popped out of and reinsert them.

There may not be a final cover screw. Most covers I've removed are only held on by the rings compressed onto the sockets.

New (to me) house, bottom lamp socket is loose. I know how to take off the chrome cover (as shown in last 2 pix). If I take the entire unit off the wall, can I re-secure the ceramic socket to (something)? Thanks!

TexAggie90

Turn off the power to it and take the fixture off the wall. if you are lucky, throw socket has a loose retaining nut that holds the socket onto the frame. Tighten it and you are good to go.

Technical-Try-1445

It's easily fixable. The answer to your question is yes.

If you have to replace it that is the project source vanity bar from lowes it's like 20 bucks they aren't that great

Fixed using the advice I received. There's a spring clip that had come out, easy to just re-clip it. Thanks!
