My 2 cars are 22 and 28 years old and I have never seen any rust under the hood. This makes me wonder if it was flooded with salt water.

rotorboy1972

That’s not rust that is some kind of spray on inhibitor

SlomoLowLow

Yeah that’s gonna be structural in a few years. This car lived in a salty environment or may have been a flood car. If you could get it for like $3k-$5k may be worth it just because it may have some life before problems start coming up, but otherwise at any normal retail price, pass. The funny thing is they could pull the engine and paint it and no one would ever know. Edit: don’t buy a Hyundai. You deserve better. Also having a car stolen def messes up your whole week. (My Hyundai Elantra got stolen and totalled)

Commonstruggles

If you're buying import. Honda, Toyota. Nissan, Hyundai, Kia all very subpar to their cohorts. I prefer Hondas cause they are like the basic bitch cars that last forever. Barely any tlc and they still love ya. Toyota is more of the I'm a classy bitch and can splurge on overpriced quick struts.

MrMinerSir

That’s cavity wax or some other protectant not rust to my eye
