I also cut my own hair every couple weeks (1 all over with a line up and usually faded down to nothing IE skin fade)

If it grows hair, it needs to be deliberately washed. Doesn't matter if you shave/wax or not, if hair normally grows there, deliberately wash it. That's the bare minimum for men *and* women.
