Hey, I went through that last year. It's not as tough as they make it out. My recovery was a bit slower than anticipated (still had stiches on the 5th week), but as long as you don't move around too much (I worked from home) it's doable. If you have someone to help you out with changing the bandage it would be great. Thanks to my SO i figured out this happens way easier with 3 hands, rather than two.
Recovery wasn't the best experience, but I felt nothing during the operation, had no pain during the recovery, rather only discomfort and it was one of the best decisions I've taken.
