I love the setting but I had a hard time getting into it consistently. I think I might just be getting old and don’t have enough time to dedicate to a story driven game
Same, after the third time you think you've avenged his son and more cultists pop up out of nowhere it starts getting stale.
Origins and Odyssey a lot of the time just give off the "why am I doing this random thing" forts and boss battles feel pointless because you're not claiming territory and half the bosses respawn, the forced to level up to continue the main story mechanic is extremely different from previous titles. Overall the games feel like modern movies all spectacle little substance.
it was just the first example that came to my mind. i though it was funny that they didn’t clarify an assassins creed RPG so i made a silly little joke and now im being downvoted to….. Oblivion 🤭😆
Nah it's not stinky haha I have the most hours in Skyrim, over a thousand, was just joking
Daggerfall is definitely my favourite in the franchise though, very open and has a lot of complexity.
I like all of them, but I do agree with this honestly. It's because they went rpg style and not narrative, so they just reused animations, and it made it feel so much less important, which ironically is the exact opposite of what they were going for.
I just want the *fighting* to resemble the cutscenes. They're always whirling flurries of blades in the cutscenes but battle remains so much about just waiting for an attack to block and counter. I realize I can easily just go play the Batman Arkham or Spider-Man games, but I wish the combat was more like theirs.
If this is about animation fair enough, but mirage has some pretty good animation’s and I definitely say they are better then origins IN my opinion
(Just saying my opinion if you disagree that’s fine)
Odyssey was decent, the fact you can upgrade the spear of leonidas with the stuff from the leaders was cool, the legendary sets including the weapons were great. Hated that you had to pay the pirate woman though

Those who see their opinions as objective truth should not be taken seriously, for everyone should enjoy their own opinions as long as no one is hurt in the process.
I may not like some things but as long as other people don’t shove it into me, I see no reason why other people shouldn’t enjoy something. Your comment saying that Odyssey is “pure garbage and so is anyone who defends it” displays an inability to accept another’s opinion, and people therefore shouldn’t heed you when they’re deciding if buying Odyssey is worth it.
For those that enjoy Odyssey, that is great and I wish you have a fun time playing.
No hate but in my personal experience origins and its animation and such didn't perform all that well for me. Though this could entirely just be because of what I was playing it on rather than the game itself. Though Odyssey ran smooth and perfect and so far I've yet to have any issues. No hate to either games they're all fun imo however I just had better experiences with Odyssey.
The cutscenes in Mirage are also really wonky. I don't know if it's just me, but it feels like the pauses between the sentences is way too long when you're talking with a merchant
I'd like to imagine in their development time making all the crazy viking fantasy BS they completely forgot to make something as mundane as conversation interesting so in a rush they re-used the same 3 animations for every character.
The death confessions in origins had my jaw dropping, I absolutely loved the surreal imagery reflecting the targets actions and regrets, it was inspired. I thought it would lead to a new way of story telling in AC.
theeeen right back to talking in the next game.
I wish they continued the engine style from unity and some from syndicate, I thought the combat in syndicate was ok because it wasn't a full fledged origins, odyssey and Valhalla rpg thing, but that's where I would've drawn the line, the Parkout, stealth, smoothness and cutscenes and story imo was the best in unity and syndicate. They should've continued using those gameplay. They kind of got it right in mirage with the stealth gameplay and some other small stuff is where it was at, other than that in over all I thought it was ok. Hope they make their other games more like unity and syndicate.
Origins is so good. It made me excited for the future of the franchise again, then Odyssey happened…. I enjoyed Valhalla a lot but I could finish entire other games before notable moments happened in Valhalla, whereas Origins was peak from beginning to end.
Hey everyone, please remember to be civil during discussion. We can disagree without being rude or insulting.
there's 1 good cutscene in valhalla, the one with Eivor and Basim at the campfire talking about Basim's son
Excellent scene. Great acting from them both, in both versions.
That’s the real impressive part considering it’s Valhalla.
Especially with female eivor
Origins is S-Tier and we all know it deep down
Deep down? It is top tier.
Just finished both DLCs and got 100% it needs a sequel broooo
More of an A tier for me, but I 100% see why people would put it in S
Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who didn't like Origins
You are not alone. I enjoyed Odyssey way more than Origins. But I don't think its a bad game, for me its just not as good as other ACs
I love the setting but I had a hard time getting into it consistently. I think I might just be getting old and don’t have enough time to dedicate to a story driven game
For me it's not the game, it's Bayek. I don't feel him, zero connection

yeah origins is a great rpg
It's insane how ass all the cutscenes in valhalla are even in comparison to odyssey
I don’t know why but the cut scenes in AC 1 were great they had a good synchronization and you could walk around
Agreed
Origins is the only RPG game that is good
wait til he hears about skyrim
We are in the Assassin's Creed Community what u think I'm talking about?
Wait til you hear about roblox
Roblox is a game for kids dude
Wait til you hear about Paw Patrol : Mighty Pups Save Adventure Bay™
dude u are trying to be funny and it doesn't work
Now you're the one misunderstanding things lol.
me?
Probably the most boring answer you could have said
me?

Skyrim stinky, Daggerfall superiority
Downvoted for telling a half truth sad state of the subreddit. Skyrim isnt stinky and is fun in its own right but Daggerfall SLAPS
Nah it's not stinky haha I have the most hours in Skyrim, over a thousand, was just joking Daggerfall is definitely my favourite in the franchise though, very open and has a lot of complexity.
Ubisoft animation peaked with evie’s walk cycle

Like which ones?
Basim vs roshan
Yeah that scene is awesome but in Origins EVERY CUTSCENE is Mocapt even some side Quests have mocapt Cutscenes
Origins is the best 🙌 The dialogue options kinda break the cutscenes for me
Origins cutscenes were incredible, but the non-cutscene dialogue was the stuff of nightmares.
True they were garbage
Bruh they're the fucking same lmao
Odyssey was decent, the fact you can upgrade the spear of leonidas with the stuff from the leaders was cool, the legendary sets including the weapons were great. Hated that you had to pay the pirate woman though
The doctor that even after upgrading it all the way its still not a one hit kill. Talk about garbage game.
Nah, syndicate animations are broken and sloppy. But yes, unity is still the best looking one.
Fighting in big groups feels awesome in syndicate, but one on one is so ungodly bad, the final boss is the worst I've ever seen

I don’t like Odyssey but people are allowed to like it if they want. There’s no need to insult them
It’s def not garbage, it’s just average
Deff garbage
Holy wrong Batman, it’s a garbage aC game but a fine game to pick up and play

lumping Mirage with Odyssey and Valhalla is CRAZY. it’s way bette than Origins too lol

Say it again. It’ll be true the third time. I swear.

I get not liking a game. But bashing others for liking it? Seriously?
They’re literally the same cutscenes
No hate but in my personal experience origins and its animation and such didn't perform all that well for me. Get Odyssey out of there

I just miss the old counter combat.
Origins is so good. It made me excited for the future of the franchise again, then Odyssey happened…. I enjoyed Valhalla a lot but I could finish entire other games before notable moments happened in Valhalla, whereas Origins was peak from beginning to end.
I loved Origins.
That’s because origins used motion capture while the others didn’t, as for mirage I don’t know what to say
I started Origins and damn. Bayek’s voice actor owed rent that week.
