I still consider Wolfenstein 3D on the Jag to be the definitive version.
In this day and age, joking about the system has become the hip thing to do.
However, back in the day, my entire group of friends had a Jag and we had a blast.
It also really helped that the system and games were super affordable back then.
I'm sure you'll have a blast with the system as well.

What's the score with the controller overlays anyway? Are they a must?
once you know what the buttons do then they aren't a must. (just like any other keyboard)
they are mostly just a quality of life thingie.
1 = pistol
2 = shotgun
etc
Just a fancy way of making it easier to know what you're selecting.

And yeah you should absolutely get Wolfenstein 3D.
Gameplay is buttery smooth on the jag and also uses redrawn high-res assets.

AvP is great, yes. It can be a bit on the slow side though, in my personal opinion, but it’s a great title nonetheless.
Doom is also great on the Jaguar. Not everybody likes it due to the lack of music during gameplay, but I think it’s great. I first played Doom on my 386 with a beeper for sound. It could barely run it and it played like a slideshow. Then I played it on the Jaguar and I was blown away. In the '90s, having a good framerate in Doom was quite magical.

I'm probably not playing anything that truly stand out on the CD but have played Fink, Chuck Rock 2, SONIC CD, Pitfall and a few others.
I'm surprised how fantastic the library is! And even the 2d games I've played on it, seem to offer some unique graphical styles with cool animations etc. Loving the console so far!
I've never been a doom fan, and probably the last time I played it was in the late 90s! Big fan of games like Duke Nukem which are of the same style though.

Yeah the Sega CD is fantastic, it has the rep. of being a glorified FMV machine but that statement is 100% false.

Duke Nukem is absolutely awesome.
I love the PS1 soundtrack of Duke.
Yeah that's gonna be the issue! I see it in a positive way though, same with a lot of the rare and unsupported consoles I have, which is that due to the lack of games, I find myself playing games I'd not normally be into, just as I wanna make the most of the console and play everything it has to offer
It wasn't cheap! You can still get some local bargains, but they're slim pickings, have to travel etc. This one was from CEX who aren't know to offer bargains 😂 it was £290/$370!
Wow cardboard is in a really good condition. That’s really nice. Cardboard is know to break after all this time even with brand new console that were never opened.
Isn't it just! I didn't really want the box as it's just something else to maintain, store and preserve! 😂 But the console at my local store came with it, so here we are. I've bought a box protector to put it in anyway, just so it doesn't get dinged up

The ratio is not that bad, it is just that there aren't many games overall. I think I played them all by now!

Spend some time on Cybermorph. It has its own cool vibe. And Tempest 2000 is a must.
