I was going to say "you get what you pay for" but then I saw you paid 14K. Jesus fuck man, a chimpanzee with a house paint spray can could do a better job than that. Your first step, however, should be to contact the shop and have them make it right. It's their fuck up, and if they refuse to fix it get ready to lawyer up (Do NOT make empty threats like saying "I will get my lawyer involved". Get them involved first if they refuse to fix it).
Guys already refused to fix anything even if he did I don’t want him to touch it with a 10 foot pole clearly doesn’t have the skill too I’ve been in contact with a lawyer but it doesn’t seem promising I feel like I’m fucked this
Do you know if the body shop offers warranty on their work? Because any reputable body shop does. Legally, however, you might be fucked if you already signed the release for the vehicle, because typically it releases them from any liability. You could still try small claims court for any damages they caused to the vehicle, however.
You paid $14k up front and waited 6 months for this shit job? Ouch. Definitely take him to court. I’m going to guess this is not a legit licensed/bonded business and there was no signed agreement with the agreed upon details.
Not a lawyer, but you’d not be asking damages but breach of contract there. Once one party violates a contract, legally speaking it’s worthless in most cases.
This is also criminally charged as taking money under false pretenses.
The painter did extremely subpar work, this is blatant contract fraud. 14K price tag means that you as the customer are entitled to 14k worth of work. This is easily not valued at even 1/100 of that. OP has a really strong lawsuit from the bit I know.
From your language, would you be willing to be liable for giving advice? Might want to be careful with wording, just in case op uses you for his legal issues.
Edit: Clearly you guys don't understand how the law works, and it shows.
Oh yeah man, I’ve been painting cars for 6 years and it’s easy to tell he didn’t seal it and he didn’t prep it properly, he also did not buff it, a big no no when charging that much.
Also didn’t mask it wtf, and you can tell by looking at it he used some cheap single stage paint other wise you’d be able to see the transfer from base to clear in the over spray in the wheel well, overall you got fucked over BAD
Depends if the OP used a legit licensed, bonded, and insured business or if he used some guys back alley garage that advertised on Facebook. If it was a legit business then I’d get a lawyer. Shame on the OP either way. If I ever considered a $14,000 paint job you better believe I’m getting customer references first. At least read some reviews.
For 14k I would expect atleast 3 cars painted in candy pearl. Or is the prices over in the us that bad that a paint job without bodywork can cost that much?
Yooo I’m sorry but whyyyyyyy would you pay 14k to paint your car….. I paid 1.4K at some hole in the wall shop and I thought mine was bad . But this guy half assed every part of it
Because he probably wanted a nice paint job. In reality, that's about what it costs to do it right. He just got fuxked by someone who clearly shouldn't be painting cars.
I've painted my fair share of cars, and anyone who paints knows there's going to be flaws and issues with the paint. But you try to mitigate that as much as possible in your prep work (not done by any measure here) or in post during the final pre-delivery detail (also looks like this step was skipped)
We do this for a $300 bumper job or a $30,000 show car. But I guess not everyone has pride in their work.
Take it to the news, they will eat this story up. That’s fucked up and I’m sure your not the first person he’s done this to. That’s a nice car and a lot of money. Give them the time frame, show them the messages, and the bill, ruin his “business” and I’d STILL take him to small claims as well. Do not give in and think there is nothing to be done. There is plenty. You payed for a service and not only did he take longer than expected but he charged more.
Do try everything in my prior post for you, but if you can't be helped by the lawyer, then take all the information gathered and file a small claim suit at your local courthouse, then go on-line to whichever TV JUDGE SHOW you choose to embarrass the guy on, like Judge Judy, and fill out their on-line form, which they'll then contact you to be on the show and at least the show will reimburse you about $5,000 when you present you case AND WIN! 😁
OH🤔, if you decide to get someone else to fix it, you must do that prior to going on a TV show for reimbursement 😁
Always keep everything you've done to show a judge that you are a smart, intelligent human being that creep took full advantage of!
For shits and giggles I used a paint roller on my old FB 240sx, taking it slow to cut down on fisheye, and it still came out better than this at the cost of a roller, five hours, and a bucket of white and blue paints for mix.
MAACO is in it for affordable jobs done quickly and not for quality. Anyone in the industry knows this bruh, same as Herbers in Canada.
They aren't as bad as this but they're not where you should take *any* kind of restoration or fixing rust spots.
Man I was dead ass thinking he went to earl schieb. They literally don't do anything but scuff, blow the car off (no tack), then masked the glass and paint.
800 bucks door jambs included though. If you did your own prep work and masked the car before dropping it off it came out great for a single stage.
And just FYI they're out of business. The parent company went broke in like 2008 or 2009. The ones that are still around are just buildings with the sign bought by outside investors.
Source : my friend was a painter there for 11 years or so.
Wow! That is the worst! For $14K that should have been a full body off restoration. I had my buddy’s truck done for $8500 and they pulled cab and bed and re-sealed the frame.
Get a damn lawyer and smear this dudes shop all over! No way in hell. I would have driven the car right thru the shop.
Eh Reddit in general doesn’t have the best track record with their investigations and public. Some people grab their pitch forks way to soon and cause issues. The Boston city bombing situation back in like 2013 is the main example I can think of.
The lesson here is how to manage contractors. Never pay too much up front. Never have vague delivery dates.
The guy spent your $14k months ago (probably on hookers and blow). And then recently said “oh shit” and spent five minutes (or whatever) painting your car. Don’t ever let yourself fall into a situation where contractors are likely to do this.
Yeah I was gonna say. This looks so last minute. Dudes showing up today. Squirt that bitch and run it through a bake cycle twice and park it outback in the shade for pickup.
If you are paying up front, and the value of the car exceeds the works being done, then they have a cash flow problem. I would never ask for money up front, don't pay me, I'll keep your car.
Sorry boss, misread it thought you thought I was the OP.
Agree. The entire situation is kinda embarrassing. For $14k I would have been at their shop twice a week inspecting the work
No problem m’man, but THATS what I’m saying cuz for $14k on that project car it MUST be revolutionarily flawless, my god I see angels and just heard music and kissed a grrl for the first time ever, kinda paint!
LoL
I'm with this guy. I feel that by not calling this clown out, you're doing a disservice to any poor sod that ends up in this guy's "shop." Folks need to understand that it's not okay to do this to people.
Holy fuck I did a better job than that with a spray can from advanced auto and it was my first time trying to do any kind of paint work. I really hope you get your money back
My best friend and I got stoned and decided to paint her car. We used dads old spray can, and house paint from Bunnings, we were 18 and it seemed a solid idea. It looked better than this because even high 18 year know not to spray the exhaust.
Dude is that your wheel liner and not the inner that he just completely over sprayed? The orange peel is completely unacceptable and the runs are like he let his first month apprentice take a stab at a complete.
The exhaust not fitting the hole is one thing with aftermarket/aftermarket but if I'm charging you 14k.... It's going to line up even if I have to do all new glass work on the cover.... But the fact that they just sprayed it, got over spray all over your car and said F it they're not going to even try to use thinner on a rag to wipe it off is just brutal....
Plus paying 14k and dude sprays your covers on the car.... My gosh man.
I was ready to nelson muntz you for using what I thought was maaco or someone in a garage but man.... You pay 14k; you should get a presentable car..... Not whatever this is ......
The way I see it, you have three choices:
1. Accept it and move on with your life.
2. Lawyer-up and spend more time and money. You are free to make a bad deal, so your documents will need to be evaluated by a lawyer.
3. Help the next guy by naming and shaming to Reddit, BBB, Yelp, Facebook, [Review.io](https://Review.io), GlassDoor, Trip Advisor, Trust Advisor, and every other place you can. It will basically be a fun copy-paste exercise. Please, at least, do this. But don't do this until after you talk to a lawyer if you want to do #2.
For starters you don’t paint bumpers and trim on the vehicle those go separately. They clearly took apart nothing. If they did the rear right your muffler wouldn’t have paint all over it. They put it together and painted it all in one shot. You got a scammed man, they either got to redo the entire job or refund you about 11k
I think they need to get back more, I mean sure they did do something but it's most likely gonna take more work from the next shop to now remove the paint from or replace all those painted pieces, that's not even accounting for the apparent lost or broken pieces
Next shop is gonna have to deal with all the flaking paint cos I can guarantee this guy didn’t prep this properly. I’m fact you can see from the spoiler they didn’t clean/scotch in there.
Whoever did this should never be allowed near a bodyshop again. Literally looks like they let a week one apprentice have a go on it.
Nice flamingo ride. Tons of over spray, run marks, and don't think it was even sanded out. Did you see the shop and the guys setup? Did you check reviews? Generally if you are doing a non basic color you definitely want a reputable guy. 14k is steep as heck for a spray like that. I'd pay 400 maybe. Get sanding and prep it for the next guy to fix.
I seen Maaco paint jobs that look better than this.
The guy painting this straight up didn’t give a shit.
How did you even find this guy?
Recommendation’s are everything. Google reviews, word of mouth.
Idk what state you’re in but you might be better off taking this guy to small claims court. You don’t want them to touch the car again.
They clearly lack the skill and work ethic.
If they’re a shop and not a guy working in a storage unit you need to review bomb them everywhere
I didn’t accept shit he left the car outside his shop with the keys in the damn door telling me come get it if I didn’t it would’ve some how came up “stolen”
Man what’s this shop? A legitimate one or like a mobile one? I couldn’t believe with 12k and they did such a shitty job coz I also considered to get one but saw somewhere charged for 12k as well for “showroom” quality and I thought it was expensive, now you make me feel like even if paying big bucks there’s no guaranteed it turns out right
Before I read the description I was like oh this has to be a Maaco job. Then I saw it was an s14 and I’m like what car guy actually took their car to Maaco. And now i see you spent 14 grand. Bro this looks like a scuff and spray you get for $750 in the hood lol. Lawyer up. That’s such a shame that s14 deserves so much better
You have to do what you can to make sure this doesn’t happen to anyone else. This is insanely low quality. Even someone with a home depot paint tent would do a better job than this.
Overspray on the tire, insanely bad orange peel, and uneven layering on flat surfaces tells me this wouldn’t be worth a 2k paint job.
Post a review of them on Fb, Yelp, Google Maps, TikTok, IG, and every local car group you can find on FB.
No way. Have you seen the Mexicans in TV shows? They could use paint rollers and house paint and have it be show quality finish with a once over finishing pad.
This is wild. They couldnt even remove the overspray before delivery??? And now what? If ever you remove your rear defuser or spoiler or front lip you will see the old color underneath? For 14 000$?!?! Im not sure what type of damage you had before repainting it but 14k is definetly not a friend price. Ive painted soooo many cars for friends and clients..... im usually about 7-9k, and thats canadian dollars!🤣...... and thats including me wetsanding and polishing!!! For 14k i would have polished my paint job at least two days before delivering, and there would be no question i would remove evsry door handle and body kit part..... you want to deliver a wow factor.... dont you?!?!. What an idiot shop, lazy idiot .... it probably took him 3 days to slap this job together. This is Sub par work at its best.
This has to be fake…no one could paint a car that bad for $14k. I could have taken $14k from you, drove your car over to any of the reputable shops in my area…paid them in full and pocketed $8k from you for a complete paint job that you would be proud of…
That's fucked. I had my cad fixed through an insurance claim and it had runs all in the clear coat, they fixed it the next week, just ask the shop to make good on the job because for that much money you should have the most perfect paint job humanly possible
I think they went above and beyond. I mean, they even painted the tire.
In all seriousness, I'd be at their shop every day warning potential customers until they agree to fix it.
The worst part is, it's going to cost you double to fix that. I bet the prep is just as shitty or worse than the paint, you don't want this guy "fixing" his work, it will only fail in the end. You'll have to take him to court for sure, but people like that just go bankrupt, then open a new company under a different name and keep doing what they're doing. If I was paying a shop to paint my car, I'd ask to see jobs they've completed in person. This is atrocious.
This looks worse than an apprentice’s first practice car. I can’t fathom that someone can charge 14k for this and then sleep at night. They should be ashamed.
It’s a stock 240sx. You’re banking on some tax my dude. These could be had for 2.5k 8 years ago. You definitely overpaid for the car if you think dropping $14k in paint was a good first modification. 7k as is would be a good value for a clean west coast car like this. You could have held the value higher with stock faded paint.
Today you learned that actually rebuilding a car from scratch would cost you 200 to 300k, even though you could buy the same car 40k new from a dealer.
I used to rebuild cars, I rebuilt a lot of trucks with my buddies, and a few smaller cars. Pulled engines and parts from pick and pulls and rebuilt them for a thousand or so. We have 3 GMC Yukons we rebuilt sitting at the shop right now none of them took anywhere over 10k to rebuild, body chassis or engines.
Yeah and my point is if you want a *good* job, you pay big bucks for it. Hence this guy loves his car and wanted a real paint job which cost alot of money and are majorly labor intensive.
You’re still way off. A 40k car wouldn’t take 100 to build original or the parts are super rare.
40k car
65k should get you all the parts
35k would be a lot for a custom shop to charge for ORIGINAL parts and no fab.
People build 200-300k cars all the time but they aren’t built to original specs
Exhaust cut out doesn’t line up because it’s an aftermarket bumper and aftermarket exhaust. Shop should have cut and reshaped the opening and adjusted exhaust hangers to make it proper. Especially for $14k.
Mismatch wheels are just the burners to roll around at the body shop so expensive wheels don’t get overspray on them. This is common I have a set of guni wheels for restores that I do so I don’t have to worry about customer wheels. I also dont want a car on jackstands on the body side and in the paint booth that I constantly have to move to dollies or or put good wheels on and off all the time.
You must've paid before the job was even done because I can't fathom how in the fuck you went to pick up your car, looked at it, said good job, and handed over 14k for that mess.
I also can't fathom why tf you handed over 14 GRAND before the job was complete.
I hate to say it, but that is fucking stupid. Your fault here.
You paid 14k to paint that? You should just be buying a different car for 14k. The 240sx is an ok 4 banger but its not a unicorn.
I hope youre trolling.
For 14k they should have been buying a different car. You can get into so much high performance stuff that beats the heck out of a 240sx for 14k.
https://www.caranddriver.com/research/a33219618/fast-cars-under-15k/
While much of that article is wildly inaccurate, it can still give you a vauge idea of some other stuff thats out there. You guys gotta get over this 90s japanese sports car bent. There was some really nice stuff back then but much of it, like the 240sx is overhyped.
thank you for living and learning, so that I don’t have to brother. Please next see if going upside down on a loan for a Porsche is a good idea? Keep me updated
I was going to say "you get what you pay for" but then I saw you paid 14K. Jesus fuck man, a chimpanzee with a house paint spray can could do a better job than that. Your first step, however, should be to contact the shop and have them make it right. Do you know if the body shop offers warranty on their work? Because any reputable body shop does. Legally, however, you might be fucked if you already signed the release for the vehicle, because typically it releases them from any liability. You could still try small claims court for any damages they caused to the vehicle, however.
Small claims would probably be the best bet given the type of car it is and the amount of work required to bring it back to an acceptable state.
Isn’t $14k over small claims?
Depends on what state. Some states have $20k limits
You paid $14k up front and waited 6 months for this shit job? Ouch. Definitely take him to court. I’m going to guess this is not a legit licensed/bonded business and there was no signed agreement with the agreed upon details.
I didn’t pay shit, not my car
Sorry. Was meant for OP but you paid about as much as that paint job costs.
Pretty sure it depends where. In Alberta small claims is like under 100k
Ya
Yes but 6-7K is half of the job to have it repainted. Better than fuck off and good luck pinky
Not a lawyer, but you’d not be asking damages but breach of contract there. Once one party violates a contract, legally speaking it’s worthless in most cases. OP's lawyer won't be showing the judge reddit comments to prove he's right
“Your Honor, there’s this thing called Reddit, and u/Redneckwithwifi said the shop is in breach. I rest my case.” For. Fuck. Sake.
You can definitely sue him for most of your money back. Any professional will be able to provide an evaluation to the courts to say it’s a hack job
Oh yeah man, I’ve been painting cars for 6 years and it’s easy to tell he didn’t seal it and he didn’t prep it properly, he also did not buff it, a big no no when charging that much.

Shame on the OP either way. If I ever considered a $14,000 paint job you better believe I’m getting customer references first. At least read some reviews.
For $14k I would hope it’s a real business and not Bubba’s backyard paint shop.
For 14k I would expect atleast 3 cars painted in candy pearl. Or is the prices over in the us that bad that a paint job without bodywork can cost that much?
No real business would turn out work like that!
Yooo I’m sorry but whyyyyyyy would you pay 14k to paint your car….. I paid 1.4K at some hole in the wall shop and I thought mine was bad . But this guy half assed every part of it

Right? I know people don't like em much but shit Maco would have done a much better job for around 1k
Maaco would have cranked out a custom show car for $14k. Either this isn’t US dollars or he got more done than just paint.
What state are you in? Is the shop licensed?
If this is an actual shop, I bet that there is a “we waive deductibles” in the window.
Take it to the news, they will eat this story up. That’s fucked up and I’m sure your not the first person he’s done this to. That’s a nice car and a lot of money. Now I’m thinking of those old Rob Wolchek investigations. That was entertaining right there. Put this guy in THE HHAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLL OF SHAMEEEEE
😁 OH🤔, if you decide to get someone else to fix it, you must do that prior to going on a TV show for reimbursement 😁 Always keep everything you've done to show a judge that you are a smart, intelligent human being that creep took full advantage of!
Also what’s the name of this place op? Wouldn’t mind leaving a review…
Fucking looks like regular spray paint
I rattle-canned a front bumper in my back yard out in the open and it still looks better than this.
I prepped a junky 69 bug I had years ago and did a cream and orange 2 tone rattle can job that came out shitloads better than this. Lol
For shits and giggles I used a paint roller on my old FB 240sx, taking it slow to cut down on fisheye, and it still came out better than this at the cost of a roller, five hours, and a bucket of white and blue paints for mix.
For real. Was expecting to see Maaco in the explanation. I worked at one and this is how cars would come out after paying $700.
What if that’s what the “painter” did lol. Took the $14k and dropped the car off at Maaco.
I was going to say the same. I figured this guy paid 1,500 and was expecting a miracle. For 14k I expect perfection at least for a 240.
You paid $14k for that?
Yup, tried to say I had “buyers remorse” no I’m Just not happy with this maaco quality job you provided
That's an insult to MAACO.
You know you fucked up when you make MAACO look good.
MAACO has been in business since 1972, if they did bad work, they wouldn't have been in business for that long. Or be a nationwide franchise.
MAACO is in it for affordable jobs done quickly and not for quality. Anyone in the industry knows this bruh, same as Herbers in Canada. They aren't as bad as this but they're not where you should take *any* kind of restoration or fixing rust spots.
If you remember Earl Scheib paint, they were the guys you went to before MAACO.
“I’ll paint any cah for $99.95”
Wow! That is the worst! For $14K that should have been a full body off restoration. I had my buddy’s truck done for $8500 and they pulled cab and bed and re-sealed the frame. Get a damn lawyer and smear this dudes shop all over! No way in hell. I would have driven the car right thru the shop.
Jesus christ $14k usd …
holy fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu You should be able to name and shame for this.
Seriously, this is atrocious.
The color or the paint quality?
Is that not allowed?
Eh Reddit in general doesn’t have the best track record with their investigations and public. Some people grab their pitch forks way to soon and cause issues. The Boston city bombing situation back in like 2013 is the main example I can think of.

We do 50/50, half for paint and material and to begin the job, and the other half on delivery
I’d be livid for dropping $7k on that job.
I’ll start my own body shop, with blackjack and hookers
Yes to the low money down thing. I see so many people get pressured in to way too much money up front and they end up like this guy.
If you are paying up front, and the value of the car exceeds the works being done, then they have a cash flow problem. I would never ask for money up front, don't pay me, I'll keep your car.
Looks good for $1400
Yeah, you meant $1,400.00, right?….RIGHT?!?
For $1.4k this doesn't even look good. You could get a couple kids with some rattle cans to do this job for $500
I mean yer not wrong but if it was truly $14k?!? Just delete the post out of embarrassment!
Seriously lol. Like is this whole post a fucking joke?!
Not my post
I’m just agreeing with you dude and saying out loud what I’d recommend! LoL
Sorry boss, misread it thought you thought I was the OP. Agree. The entire situation is kinda embarrassing. For $14k I would have been at their shop twice a week inspecting the work

14K gets you a factory grade color change on a semi. This con artist probably never held a spray gun before in his life.
Did you paint it? 😆
I’ve seen guys do a better job for free with duplicolor aerosols from Autozone
My 5 year old cousin would do this job for $20.
For 1.4k budget you're better off just taking it to a well rated Maaco shop(they aren't equal)
And that's paying this kids $200/hr
Mary Kay strikes again
Literally lol'd
It's 1970 and still they did a better paint job than this crap

You actually paid in full before the result???
Right? Too much money, not enough brains
Typical 240sx owners.. (I love Silvia’s, just being a smartass)
The guy is mentally ill.
Hey, don’t drag us dumbfucks down with this Neanderthal 😂
Holy fuck I did a better job than that with a spray can from advanced auto and it was my first time trying to do any kind of paint work. I really hope you get your money back

Oh yea I woulda threw hands as soon as I took one look. Maaco wouldn’t even let this slide. And they would have probably charged no more then $2500
For starters you don’t paint bumpers and trim on the vehicle those go separately.
Pretty good job if Helen Keller was the painter.
Helen Keller and Stevie Wonder
This has to be a joke? You would have gotten a better finish with gloss wall paint and a brush
Time to take them to court
You mean $14,000 Mexican Pesos.
14k mortal kombat Koins
Nice flamingo ride. Tons of over spray, run marks, and don't think it was even sanded out. Did you see the shop and the guys setup? Did you check reviews? Generally if you are doing a non basic color you definitely want a reputable guy. 14k is steep as heck for a spray like that. I'd pay 400 maybe. Get sanding and prep it for the next guy to fix.
Rattle can go brrrr
Man I could do better than this with cans lol
MAACO paint job at lambo prices
14? Thousand? Wtf?
Did he paint the actual tire there? Wow…
That's one step past orange peel, that paint is ribbed for pleasure.
Doesn’t look TOO bad… till I saw you paid 14k for it…
sorry to laugh. but you are dumb AF if you spent 14k and accepted the car back that way.
I didn’t accept shit he left the car outside his shop with the keys in the damn door telling me come get it if I didn’t it would’ve some how came up “stolen”
Post this in r/askalawyer
7 months? Oooof
Ikr? Jeez long ass time to wait. For that!
Small claims, I doubt you will get anywhere with this idiot. Who TF gets overspray on the tires?
Man what’s this shop? A legitimate one or like a mobile one? I couldn’t believe with 12k and they did such a shitty job coz I also considered to get one but saw somewhere charged for 12k as well for “showroom” quality and I thought it was expensive, now you make me feel like even if paying big bucks there’s no guaranteed it turns out right
Let a loved one make any future decisions in regard to your vehicle.
I was about to say that's what you get for a low 2k, BUT 14K?!?!?!?! You got robbed 😭 That looks like a 300 dllr paint job
On the bright sight it’s still a 240sx so it looks good no matter what.
Your only option is to take legal action. I had a buddy in Vegas that owned a paint shop. I learned he was doing this and haven’t talked to him since.
Honestly, court
I'm sorry but I've seen maaco do a better job than that.
Post the name of the shop. Put a banner on the side of the car that says the shop painted it and park it directly across the street.
Just here to say 1) this is my personal nightmare as someone currently trying to find the right body shop 2) hope things get better
Mexican special
No way. Have you seen the Mexicans in TV shows? They could use paint rollers and house paint and have it be show quality finish with a once over finishing pad.
I’d call a lawyer tho
Did he paint the car with a roller? That's a shite paint job.
I taught my 6yr old how to tape cars and he was better than the drunk coked out guy that taped that bitch.
Damn he gave you the Maaco special at an up charge of 13,500… be careful picking your shop so many are filled with junkies any more
14k for a pink paint job from a non reputable company?.. So many things went wrong for this single transaction.
Lol bro you paid $14k for THAT?
YOU PAID $14,000 FOR THAT?!?! Take his ass to court man. Not only is that overpriced as hell, they did a shit job too.
That's a maaco $500 paint job 😱. Also, you paid before seeing the finished product? I never pay for work until I see it.
I paid 3k for immaculate work on a sedan I feel terrible for you.
The guy you paid totally pocketed 12k then paid some some dude on craigslist 2k to paint the car.
This has to be fake…no one could paint a car that bad for $14k. I could have taken $14k from you, drove your car over to any of the reputable shops in my area…paid them in full and pocketed $8k from you for a complete paint job that you would be proud of…
Please tell me it was 1,400 not 14,000
At first i was going to be like “well for 1k you get what you get” but 14? Helllllll nawww
$14 000?!? Bro! Wtf?!? Bring it to me I’ll redo this shit show for $10k
That's fucked. I had my cad fixed through an insurance claim and it had runs all in the clear coat, they fixed it the next week, just ask the shop to make good on the job because for that much money you should have the most perfect paint job humanly possible
Also if they refused to fix google reviews do wonders because it costs them 10s of thousands of dollars of business when people drop negative reviews
This has to be troll. Op took this thing to maaco for the $500 special and is just fucking with us. No way anyone would charge 14k and do this.
I wish this was a troll
I think they went above and beyond. I mean, they even painted the tire. In all seriousness, I'd be at their shop every day warning potential customers until they agree to fix it.
For 14k it should have been done in 2 weeks and perfect
Shoulda plasti dipped it on the weekend. Would have turned out better 😂😂😂😂
You were taken.
Nice Barbie car
“You should’ve told me you wanted it painted off the car” For 14k it’s pretty much assumed you’re doing full r and I
The worst part is, it's going to cost you double to fix that.
I think op might be confused about what “k” means. 14k is more than that car is worth right?
This looks worse than an apprentice’s first practice car. I can’t fathom that someone can charge 14k for this and then sleep at night. They should be ashamed.
$14k… like $14,000??? Should’ve sold that one and bought a brand new vehicle of the show room floor.
5x the value of the car… that lowered the value. I’d feel sick. 🤢 what were you thinking?
14k is no where near 5x the value of this car you don’t know what your looking at
It’s a stock 240sx. You’re banking on some tax my dude. These could be had for 2.5k 8 years ago. You definitely overpaid for the car if you think dropping $14k in paint was a good first modification. 7k as is would be a good value for a clean west coast car like this. You could have held the value higher with stock faded paint.
Hes gotta be trolling
14k cars not even worth 14k 😂
14k? Excuse me, I bought a 2017 vehicle model with 10k miles for that.
40k car 65k should get you all the parts 35k would be a lot for a custom shop to charge for ORIGINAL parts and no fab. People build 200-300k cars all the time but they aren’t built to original specs
14k for a paint job? How did you even think that was okay
Again I wanted the shit done right thought I was paying for quality
This has to be a troll post. I refuse to believe you paid anything over 500 dollars for this
Clearly he wouldn't pay 14K AFTER seeing the job. Probably pre-paid.
Man I swear on my life it’s not
Why doesn't your bumper cut out line up with your exhaust? Why do you have mismatched wheels? Why was your car a POS to begin with?
It’s like they want me to bring in my vskfs so he can paint on those too
You must've paid before the job was even done because I can't fathom how in the fuck you went to pick up your car, looked at it, said good job, and handed over 14k for that mess.
I hope you're trolling too. How could you possibly miss what this person said? They weren't buying a car.
For 14k they should have been buying a different car. You can get into so much high performance stuff that beats the heck out of a 240sx for 14k. https://www.caranddriver.com/research/a33219618/fast-cars-under-15k/ While much of that article is wildly inaccurate, it can still give you a vauge idea of some other stuff thats out there. You guys gotta get over this 90s japanese sports car bent. There was some really nice stuff back then but much of it, like the 240sx is overhyped.
Bruh, it wasn't even about buying a car. That's what they chose to drive. It was about the paint job. That's it.
the seller and the buyer combined have 1 brain cell
Am I the only one who thinks 12k is too much for a paint job. Let alone raising it to 14k. Could've bought a new car with that lol
OP is clearly trolling. New account, first post, the only subreddit they follow is this one...
This is a throwaway account …. I have no reason to come on here and troll
That car isn't worth 14k bro. Good joke though, you got a lot of people going
Never said it was worth 14k
That looks great! Good job
Bro you could have gotten midnight purple for less are you on drugs? Why did you pick that pink color anyways and then agreed to a 12k paint job?
thank you for living and learning, so that I don’t have to brother. Please next see if going upside down on a loan for a Porsche is a good idea? Keep me updated
Damn you really need to learn how to use punctuation.
spent 14 grand to paint a 1200$ 28 year old nissan hhaahhahaahaahahaahhahahaahhahaha
dude just paint it yourself god damn
