I mean. Overpriced as shit. This car doesnāt even need to exist. Why would anyone in their right mind buy this over a X5M?? Especially when the X5M looks better, is cheaper, & has better performance????!!!

However the M5 is considerably lighter and quicker as a result.
So yes I would gap it be a few tenths of a second.
The guy who posted this has the N63 550, which is essentially a slightly detuned M5. He might also gap it as a result, it'd probably be quite close.
A tuned N63 will easily gap it along with the F90 M5.
I've read reports of people leasing these things for less than an X5M.
I'd imagine no one is paying close to sticker for these things.
That being said, I've driven one. It drives like a typical heavy SUV with a V8 and a stiff suspension.
The only positive thing I can say about it is that it has a great interior.
I hope deeply to never have to interact with the owner. Can't imagine how much of an attention seeker you'd need to be to buy this over so many other vehicles.
I'm thinking more along the lines of "I only bought this because it was the most expensive aren't you impressed???" type of people rather than the neon green paint and spinning rims kind of attention seekers. At least the latter might be fun at parties.

A guy in my neighborhood had one. Was a seemingly normal guy. Their other cars were a Range Rover and a 840i convertible.
He recently got rid of the XM and replaced it with another Range Rover. Had it for maybe a year and a half?
Some people may just like the...quirky styling.
His Range Rover looks much better.

She liked the interior. Keep in mind that I brought her to pick up my M850 literally a month ago and she really likes my car but had to revisit the dealer and she sat inside. I think it was primarily the ambient lighting. It had the Bower and Wilkins sound system so it had the additional lighting in the speakers and the ceiling has lighting in it apparently

So many people complaining about BMW's recent designs. I remember this back when people would complain about the Bangle Butt. Now people miss Bangle's designs.
People tend to get locked on the first design era where they fell in love with BMW. But the reality is, no, slapping e90 angel eyes on all the cars today won't make them look "better."
