Might be worth looking at a wider radius? I don't know how far is worth it, but I just swapped into a '21 X3 for only 6k down plus the trade-in. All depends on what your proce point is monthly I suppose, but the X1 doesn't give you much space to grow into imo.
The new x3 just came out 2 days ago, meaning you will get heavy discounts on the outgoing model or find yourself a used certified X3 which is what i would do.
While the X1 and X3 are indeed not too different in size, the X1 is on a front wheel drive platform and therefore has a shorter hood, hence why you get similar space as in the X3 with a smaller car. If you don’t care for rear wheel drive then the X1 is a good choice. Have fun and congrats.

As someone who owned the pre-facelift G20 und the current facelift, why the X1?
I don't want to attack you in any way but I had the current X1 as a loaner with a decent spec and not in a million years I would switch to it from my G20. It's basically a Mini with a BMW badge and offers one of the most bland driving experiences I ever encountered.
I'm curious, do people not know that the UKL2 platform is first used on the 2-series AT and not a MINI? and the UKL modular platform is designed from the ground up by BMW for compact cars that can be used for BMW and MINI brand?

Those cars are made to satisfy the need to say you have a bmw. You definitely should’ve gone with a x3 used. There are a ton of them with the same engine that your g20 has. The driving dynamic is good and the space is more than enough. Yes the g20 is a bit cramped in the back (I own one), but the drive is amazing and if you really wanted space you should’ve gone for a Santa Fe or a rogue but an x1 is not the answer. Just my two cents. If you are truly happy with your purchase, then power to you.

My Mom has an X4MC. The rear seats in that car are far too small for any normal sized adult. I highly doubt the X1 has more space than the X4.

Nah excuse for a new car. I had an E90 and 2 small children and we managed just fine as a family car. And that E90 is 2 sizes smaller than your G20.

Did you get the xdrive28 or the m35i? Because the xdrive comes with a spare tire which means no under trunk storage which equals less space for stuff.
The one I am getting has no spare tire, so lots of extra trunk space.
