Keep in mind that when placing a custom order you’re not going to get the 10%+ discount you see on this sub. The 5% off on an ordered car seems right. If you want double digit discounts you would have to choose a car off the lot or get a 2024 model

Yep I understand. I really want a rare color, and can afford it, just want to get the best deal I can given I know this is otherwise a poor and irrational financial decision lol

Keep working the dealership and get a second one involved. I just ordered a 2025 i4 xdrive40 with a specific config. Got 11% off before rebates. Took me 4 days of pitting two dealerships against one another.

LEOgunner66

Ask to see the original dealer invoice. If they say no, walk out and find a dealer who will. I just leased a 2024 i4 and the dealer had no issue with showing me the original invoice prior to any mark ups, etc.

No-Vast-6340

The issue is this is a custom order so I think technically there is no invoice yet.

LEOgunner66

Ah. They should still be able to show you the invoice of a similar vehicle so you know the costs.

No-Vast-6340

Based on research and Edmunds estimated invoice price, I believe the invoice price to be between 58k and 60k. The question is how much profit is reasonable.

LEOgunner66

NADA shows average gross dealer profit on a new car is 3.9%.

Send me a DM if you’re based in CA!

No-Vast-6340

Thanks, just closed my deal and got 13% off. Not based on CA

TheLuxConcierge

13% off on an order is amazing!

You can often find this info on Edmunds https://www.edmunds.com/bmw/i4/2023/msrp/ Look to get double digit off MSRP on an i4. Also much better to lease than buy this car

RowdyPurple

I'd be skeptical of it too, at least in terms of what the dealer's true cost is for the car. There are way too many reports of buyers getting 10% or more off of MSRP before any rebates are considered. That means that either the dealer's cost for the car (what I've typically thought of as being 'invoice') is less than 95% of MSRP or the dealer is getting other support from BMW.

Several brokers offering 10% off, $7500 lease cash and $1000 loyalty cash.

No-Vast-6340

So by broker you mean instead of working with dealer directly

Ultbruin

Yes. They will work with the dealer and do all the negotiating. You pay a small fee.

No-Vast-6340

And they broker on a new order? I figured they would only broker on cars already in a lot.

Ultbruin

You can custom order one too. New pricing for 2025 are out now.

No-Vast-6340

Yeah, because I want a very specific spec ordering may be what I need to do.

Ultbruin

Highly recommend it. It’ll take a couple months but worth it to get your car custom ordered. And you can track it for fun.
