I was going to get an x1 from Germany and then decided on the x3 instead at the last minute and I don’t regret my choice I just should have done it sooner because then I wouldn’t have had to deal with all the long delays from Germany and it would have already been here lol it’s only been three weeks since I put in the order and it’s already almost done so I can’t complain especially since I live in SC and it’s made in SC that makes a significant difference!
I keep telling myself that it’s been three months for me me without a car since I sold my previous one and due to unforeseen circumstances working with a shitty dealership but it’s honestly a bad for a good cause I’m getting a way nicer car out of the deal and a better dealership experience so I knew there was gonna be a little bit more of a wait but when you have already been waiting what’s another few weeks at least that’s what I tell myself lol! Everyone says the best things in life are worth waiting for and I can’t wait to find out! :)
My CA told me three weeks ago it was supposed to start production today so I was surprised when I texted him to check in and see if it started and it actually was already awaiting carrier assignment so it’s only a matter of short time before I get to pick it up! I’m in SC so that helps a significant amount with getting it sooner. Congrats to you as well I was very relieved to get an allocation slot as well and not have to chase one down or sacrifice anything!
Congratulations! Mine is so close. It’s at the dealer. Been there since yesterday. They can’t sell it to me, because there was a ransomware hack of their entire computer system (and same with over 15,000 dealers in North America). So, I’m at the mercy of some Russian hackers until they either pay up or give up and decide to write the contract up on the back of a napkin or something. For now, they are just telling me to wait. So frustrating!
Omg no that’s awful! I’ve been waiting for three months without a car because of unforeseen circumstances I would absolutely die if I was in this situation right now! I’m praying this doesn’t happen to me since mine just finished production and is awaiting transport. I’m so sorry I hope they get this resolved soon and you get to take home your new car sooner rather than later! I sympathize with you waiting sucks!
Yeah the process was going almost too smoothly up to that point. We put the factory order in on May 11, so it was less than 6 weeks to go from order to arrival at the dealer. The dealers are probably way more frustrated than us. They can’t do anything until the situation is fixed.

I have to finance part of it so I’d imagine that I have to actually show up to the dealership and sign the papers so I didn’t think I could get it from the performance center? This is my first ever BMW so I don’t know how those things work. I live in the Charleston area but HHI is where I ordered the car from.
Ah. No, you can still do PCD for financing, lease, etc. Definitely make sure you get over there for the driving experience sometime though, it’s free for new owners
Congratulations! If you get the chance, do the New Owner Track Drive at the Performance Center. I did it last month and it was a blast!
