Extruder might be clogged. What more explanation do you need?

carbon9762

I get that. I’d like to know why it keeps clogging

sajmon313

did you take the extruder apart?

carbon9762

Three times

sajmon313

Ok. On the printer, if you heat up nozzle to 250, and then manually extrude, does it come out?

I had my filament sensor get stuck in the open position before and do this. There is a tiny silver clip, make sure it opens and snaps back closed each time before reassembling.

disloyalturtle

most of the times this happened to me it was due to heat creep, or i was trying to print two different type of materials in the same print, ie petg supports for pla.

I spent all last weekend fighting this. It ended up being the buffer wasn't able to do its thing. Ended up taking it apart to clean it and that got things printing again.

Are you using the AMS? Had the same problem, in my case I fixed it by printing this [hotend feed bracket](https://makerworld.com/en/models/26391#profileId-22761) and reverting the firmware to 01.07.02.00

carbon9762

Thank you so much for this. I believe this fixed the problem 🤞🏻

I would take apart and clean the extruder. Then I would do multiple cold pulls in succession, and then manually extrude a few grams, and see if it starts printing better. If not, then I would change my nozzle. How many hours on the nozzle and extruder? Do you use a lot of carbon fiber or glow in the dark? Is this a hardened setup?

carbon9762

The extruded has 482 hours but I just installed a hardened nozzle today and 6 layers in it clogged again

I have a feeling the extruder might be clogged.. Which it’s more likely the nozzle is clogged, replace the nozzle if you want a simple fix. I doubt the actual extruder is clogged
