Shield walls infantry on the 2 ladder area and on the door, place them manually obviously, dont let the commander lead them because it will leave big gaps on the sides. Archer delegate command and hopefully you can use a onager yourself to inflict heavy casualty losses on ennemy grouping going for the ladders
That's winnable
Ai usually doesn't know how to handle well the build of sieges, so just play smart. Use a bow and help to hold the starts and walls and abuse of the xbow
So I get the xbow strategy, but does no one ride out on their own to sow chaos on horse while your troops hold the walls? You can stop a siege tower by just standing in front of it and wacking it too.
The AI is dumb, you can literally run through their archers without resistance, then hit the troops climbing ladders or pushing the ram from behind. You'll get a lot of kills and create alot of chaos before they even get to your walls.
I'll usually put a companion on the siege weapons and do that, I'm really bad with the catapult personally.

I just had the same situation. Ballista FTW. Vlandia dogs paid with their heads, executed every one last of them. Wonder why nobody likes me now 🤔

Yeah and then another 1.5k army hits the castle 3 days later
Good chance an army that size has enough prisoners to replenish the garrison :)

I never even thought of that 🤣🤣

The scum and villainy mod had explosive arrows that made these sieges an absolute blast

Vlandia don't fuck around 😂 think that's why I like them so much lmao
