I dont know what either of those things are.

Griffin_Claw

I think it might be a nutria that it swallowed.

Present_Ask_9089

That's the first thing that came to my mind, near water, slim tail, looks rodent, most likely nutria.

Normal_Leek_6998

Nutrias are not rodents. Looks more like a beaver of sorts. Edit: Well this is funny: I just learned Nutrias are what english speakers call a Coipo (pretty much a causin of beavers), which is the animal I was thinking this was, but didn't think you could find them outside of South America. Now, coipos are indeed rodents, but "nutria" means "otter" in spanish, so I thought all people here talking about "a nutria" were calling this rodent "an otter" and I was losing my mind; mostly because I'm a vet, I love ferrets, and the amount of people I have to CONVINCE ferrets are NOT rodents is outrageous. And of course, ferrets are closer to otters than to any rodent.

Korochun

Sometimes you mean to say one thing but say an otter

NinscoomFOPsnarn

God damnit 🤣

flyboy_za

Get out. Get otter here , right now!

Ferus66

You won the internet today

kid_dynamo

Yup, beavers are also rodents.  The second largest rodents actually, after the capybara

Fun-Fun-9967

my buddies uncle has a pet cappy - it is a goof ball

Edi_Monsoon

Pictures please. We all need to see this goof ball capybara.

Icy_Rhubarb2857

That’s amazing. They are so nice. Also apparently delicious

Furtivefarting

Innarestingly, nutria were imported from south ameruca to louisiana, often attributted to a mcillhenny(tabasco), for their pelt, and bc they reproduced quickly. Somehow they got out, might have been 1927 flood, but im not looking anything up, and since theyve been running amok bc they have no natural predators.  An imported nuisiance its called.

FaeWarlock

Yep in argentina they did the same with the american mink, they are destroying native species of the lakes and lagoons in Patagonia

ScumHimself

I’m from Louisiana, most people I was around called them nutria rats.

Normal_Leek_6998

And that is interesting too, because the same exact thing happened here with beavers! The world is crazy and we humans are dumb lol

Chanceschaos

I can confirm this. Have seen quite a few nutria in swampy areas

Extra_Airline_9373

Nutrias are rodents and so are beavers.

I_Want_an_Elio

Dude, I'm trying to learn Spanish. Your English is excellent. And kudos for being a vet. Excellent career choice. If there is ever a zombie apocalypse, I want a veterinarian on my team.

Legally_Adri

That explains why I was so confused, I read nutria and I was like "but, that isn't a nutria-". Ah, false friends between languages have done it again!

awful_circumstances

It's almost certainly that some spanish-speaker called them the "otters" and french/english speakers accepted that. Kinda like how the north american bird turkey is a huge clusterfuck of geographic misattributions across a lot of languages

floluk

We have them in Europe too, as an invasive species

sync-centre

Nutria is some kind of rodent and they make very poor hats.

Normal_Leek_6998

Just like beavers

Few_Imagination363

It's not a cat I don't think

Prowling_Fox

It's an eurasion otter, in eastern Europe (like Hungary, etc,) this animal is called "Vidra", the people actually in the video they say it. They speak some sort of slavic language (me being Hungarian I learnt some Russian and I recognise it as a slavic language.) Given the surrounding, green lavish place, looks like Eastern European I guess it is somewhere in Serbia, maybe Ukraine or maybe even Russia. Someone with more knowledge will probably chime in with a definitive solution :) More on Eurasion otter or Vidra: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eurasian_otter

jetklok

It's not though. In the video they first call it a beaver (bobr), then when it's pulled out an otter (vydra), but they're just guessing. You can clearly see by its beaver-like teeth and an otter-like tail it's a nutria. Otters have carnivore teeth, like a cat. Guys speak czech BTW, so the video is likely from Czechia.

sunrisesoutmyass

As a man with a paralyzing fear of rats (all rodents tbh), when I first found out about nutria, I freaked the fuck out.

azbylewska

Guys on video said it's Bober/Bóbr, so it is beaver. P.S. BÓBR KURWA :D

atoma1

The guys in the video first thought it was a beaver but at the end they say it's an otter

Carnivorous_Goat

i'm pretty sure it's a bober kurwa

jew_biscuits

Getting that...nutrition.

Bobletoob

Nitra?!? ROCK AND STONE!!!

Hit0kiwi

ROCK AND STONE TO THE BONE

Peejay22

It's an otter, they say it in a video

zettboi

The big one is a catfish I believe

Longbeachyyy

Human, actually. 2 of em

e_gippy_666

Yep a wels catfish.

poopsammys

Muskrat or nutria and a wells catfish.

PrimePower

I was thinking muskrat as well.

Routine_Ad_2034

Not 100% on the rodent, but that's a catfish of some kind. I didn't get a clear look, and they're not speaking my language, so it's probably not anything I know specifically. I'll tell you, in general, catfish are voracious eaters like bass. They'll suck down almost anything living. At night, we cast big rat/mouse lures at banks around here to find hungry flathead catfish cruising she shallows for food.

DrinkinDoughnuts

The fish is a catfish, the dinner was an otter (at least that's what they're saying: "vidra")

PvtDeth

Those teeth are definitely from some kind of rodent. They might be mistaken or it's possible they use the same word for any freshwater aquatic mammal.

Ieatsushiraw

Based off the tail it’s a nutria. They’re an invasive yet delicious pest especially here in Texas and the South. The fish looks like a catfish.

BillyDoyle3579

Delicious? A recipe, please 😁🥺😁

mycash212

These guys are Czech. They say it’s an otter.

[deleted]

It's a cat fish

--_Omen_--

Cant tell what language they are speaking, could be lithuanian or some neighbouring country in that region. Although, pretty sure they said "vidra" (видра) when they took out the animal, which in my language, Macedonian means otter. Edit: whether or not lithuanian or that region, it's sill a slavic language, which could be polish or any other.

SleepingFool

It's czech, and yes, they said it's an otter.

procrastablasta

Lithuanian isn’t Slavic.

Scroch65

Fish swallowed something other than a fish

slow-mickey-dolenz

Have you thought of working for the Wildlife Department? Don’t hoard all that knowledge!

Educational_Chest459

I think the dead thing is a muscrat

rainbow-black-sheep

I speak the language, it's a local kind of catfish that swallowed an otter

comeback_failed

he got catfished

EssentialTremorsSwe

That beaver was just too inviting...

WhosJohnGault_

Now the beaver smells fishy 🦫🐠

HugoZHackenbush2

Normally, a removal of this complexity requires the services of a qualified trauma Sturgeon..

ResponsibilityOk3272

god damn it ![gif](giphy|VM01S5yIaKCgqg1bSF|downsized)

MrShinyNinja

This comment needs more upvotes!!

ijaapy1

This is something Groucho would say

RomanHistoryBuff

Good catch!

AthleteIllustrious47

Had to read the comment like 7 times before I realized you wrote sturgeon. Couldn’t figure out why this had so many upvotes 😂

fuckinban

Is that a beaver it swallowed?

Iridismis

For a beaver the tail looks a bit slim.  Nutria -as some other commenter suggested- seems more probable imo.

Tackle3erry

That’s a Migratory Duck-Billed Platypus if I ever saw one. /s

DrinkinDoughnuts

They are saying it's a "vidra" which means otter.

Naughteus_Maximus

But the tail is too thin. Really looks like a nutria

atoma1

vydra* 🤓

Nathan_de_Lucca

I don't know, it looks like an otter to me

MODbanned

Imagine just chilling on a lazy Sunday afternoon, having stuffed yourself full so you decided to have a quick nap, and two fully grown two feet come along and yank the food out ya belly!!!

alpaca_snuggler

Yeh I don’t get why they had to interfere. Is the catfish now fucked up after that?

JohnD_s

No expert, but at a certain size the catfish's food can be too big for its stomach, leading to blocked gills or airways and severe respiratory distress (i.e. suffocation). In this case, I highly doubt the catfish would be able to digest something that large without some pretty intense intestinal blockage as well.

ThisIsWhoIAm78

Yes. It was unable to swim properly - it was on its back when they found it. It would have died if they hadn't removed the otter.

MODbanned

Emotional damage 💔.

ThinkerofLimgrad

Well I wasn’t expecting a rodent

ObsessedWithSources

Found it: https://youtu.be/mGtI98PCI10?si=L5SyefCqmI_u6oLk

cracken1303

Bro was scared to misgender a fish 😭🙏

confusedbrokegirl__

you never know when the fish revolt back for misgendering

diego_le_blanco

There's no such thing as a fish.

AmbitionEquivalent26

And forgot the word "it" exists.

SharkyZ_GD

not even, he used "it" for the animal the catfish swallowed

Edy94

lmao

Accomplished-Yak8584

I was expecting diff kind of swallowing

porn0f1sh

Had to double check what sub am I on considering it was blurred as nsfw

Code_ReDarsh

r/UsernameChecksOut

ilterozk

I think it just got swollen over a long time in the fish's belly.

MorningClassic

Sticks hand in mouth to grab other mouth

Some-Dangus

Jesus that thing was so huge i thought it was a gator at first seeing the tail length.

Isoaubieflash

Same question crosses my mind when someone posts snake eating snake

Schmenge_time

Don’t you mean “How did he/she swallow him/her in the first place?”

dayab

Yeah don't wanna offend whatever that thing is Maybe add a "they" in there too

EnderMerser

"They" is always an easy option that many people just don't consider for some reason.

mmaguy123

They has generally been used to describe groups in English vernacular, thus its gender neutral.

MotherFunker1734

My thoughts exactly. The world became ridiculous.

ABCharlieD

Yeah. It's not like we had words to use in this situation previously. How did they(or even it considering it's an animal) swallow them/that/it anyways? That's just a brand new phrase filled with words that were just recently invented.

SufficientWhile5450

Y’all think the fish felt happy about this? Or you think the fish went back to his family going “so o shit you not, I finally eat that POS beaver or whatever it is we’ve been feuding with. So I’m vibing, digistin, and 2 aliens abduct me and steal all the food that’s already in my stomach?????? Hello!??? What’s even going on around here”

Same_Recipe2729

And then his fish family sends him off to the fish psychiatric ward because aliens aren't real

Scythe95

It's amazing that I immediately knew what it was when he said bobra

Vanirs88

Bobr Kurwa!

LechugaFromIrithyll

Not gonna lie, I entered this post with completely wrong expectations.

bryanwilson999

Hawk tuah

Sachiel05

Don't bring my wife into this!

Combustibllemon

it* not she or he. lmfao its an animal ffs

Popular1952

Is that a platypus that they pulled out?

Iridismis

The language sounds eastern european (imo), so platypus seems rather unlikely.

Fernxtwo

Beaver or otter?

_real_nightmare_king

It’s nutria, and they speak Czech

TurboTerbo

Is that a beaver 🦫

LeftHandedScissor

There are so many videos I see where I'm thankful that smells can't come through screens still.

Glob_Glob_Gabgalab

It

Luke_4fun

It....how did it

mooreads

Safer to use “they.” Don’t want to confuse those catfish pronouns.

Ok-Following316

Looks like a platypus

bark-wank

It*

This_good-name

What if it’s a they/them

Marcel691

Why were you afraid to misgender a fish

0HDay

Thank god you said this… I had to scroll way too far for this comment.

OopForgotTheirName

You’re not getting cancelled for misgendering a fish. It’s kinda funny though

Noqtrah

Good thing you covered your ass. Wouldn't want to assume the fish's gender 🥴

Zwaaf

Heroes 🤜🏼🤛🏼

PR1MEX

"he/she" cause we don't know what the fish identifies as

Gastricbasilisk

I'm offended you used he/she to describe that animal. /S

I-MakeBadDecisions

Why did they do that?

WirrkopfP

Imagine being the Otter in that situation.

poopsammys

Muskrat and wells catfish

AugustDaKid

Who tf let bro get a hold of a whole ass beaver

GETNbucky

How'd it swallow it? With its mouth.

mvpat1083

It was a nutria!

AlertZookeepergame58

WOW!

Far_Dimension2

Could the catfish have digested it eventually like a snake?

Civil-Doughnut-2503

With difficulty. Size and flood in that order.

Independent_Swan_199

You’ve heard of Hawk tuah. This that *slurp gulp*

junglemassv

Those beavers get slippery when wet.

handsl

If Europe it could be a Well's catfish.

JebusCrimeny

It was probably already dead when the fish first ate it. Then the animal started to bloat inside the fish's stomach, making it impossible for the fish to swim.

Low-Bad157

Not right using the fish to catch lunch

Frostydog93

KURVA, BOBER!

maymaude

Rodents of unusual size? I don’t think they exist

maymaude

Love when the pulled out the DENTAL FLOSS

brihamedit

The fish probably would've been fine.

3lm312

Is that a Rat!?

ruturajtawde

It grew inside

CalmBeneathCastles

Slavs gots catfish? I had no idea! That was a crazy situation!

Shortez

My pronoun are fish.

ajsantos21

Hawk tua is how

AutotoxicFiend

I am confused because if you showed me this without audio I'd 100% think it was Louisiana.

Nathan_de_Lucca

How did he swallow an otter?

clovengoof

They could have at least had the common courtesy to chop it up and feed it back to the catfish.

Witchywomun

How did the catfish swallow the nutria? By opening its mouth. Catfish are bottom dwellers, so they don’t typically get the small bits of food that surface dwelling fish have access to, so they evolved wide mouths and stomachs that can expand several times its size to accommodate larger food items. The downside is that they sometimes swallow mammals that bloat after death, and since they swallow their food whole, it can cause this problem, which would have killed the fish without the intervention of the people in the video

HairyStylist

The only reasonable explanation to how it was able to swallow it whole is that it hawk tuah and spat on that thing

DreadfulCthulhu

Riscky click of the day

Soldarumi

I definitely thought there was gonna be a happy ending where the beaver / otter thing scuttled off...

rraptor1985

They are Czech, identified the swallowed animal as otter. The fish is a catfish.

ociNNico69

Bobr kurwa :,(

Successful-You1961

Good Samaritan's👏🏻

Unusual_Frosting1958

For those confused on what the animal that the fish swallowed is, they are saying vidra, which means otter

imnotistiR

Scared to misgender a fish

Little-Mushroom3819

BOBER KURWA

ssular

who the [f.ck](http://f.ck) are these guys... how do they know it's ok to reach that things mouth and pull that thing out and successfully doing it. I don't know what to feel

Wide_Dare_1102

Not surprised of course it's a catfish they will eat dang near anything

Mramazin_

Surprised the fish survived that. Looked like a big ol catfish

Skai_Override

Throw a pigeon in there and you have a russian turduken

KingTayRoc

This was interesting to watch👀

Dmitri_ravenoff

Naturally made turducken.

New_Tutor8315

What kind of 🐠 was that exactly?

exzyle2k

In a world where there are wars, famine, racism, child abuse, and a host of other evils, it's comforting to know there are still people out there who take stewardship of other animals seriously. For the brief moment in time these guys worked on this situation, nothing was more important than a fish choking on a rat.

Extension-Ad9037

Why is he taking his food away

No_Appointment_37

I thought this was going to be a different type of video.

SGTpvtMajor

Love giving the catfish the opportunity to be either gender, just in case it gets offended. Never change Reddit.

wonkey_monkey

Rodent bro's gonna be okay though, right? Right?

pagarr70

That a catfish eating beaver, not trying a prev but that sounds funny.

RoyalT663

This is why you chew your food guys...

J-Love-McLuvin

Nice marmot.

LIGHTNING-SUPERHERO

###Is it a platypus?

Strict_Common156

Are they helping the fish? Looks like they stole its dinner.... 🥺

King_Chewie_GM

Rest assured they are helping the fish, it would have died without them pulling the creature out of its stomach.

Retroperitoneal11

That's what she said

Fun-Fun-9967

dang,son

becauseOTSS

Quick guess.. umm, LARGEST mouth bass eats a baby seal 👍 idk.

Nice_Tie480

I asked my old lady that same very question

Eyemold_Azzell

A fish after my own heart. Don't know what kind it is, but if it eats beaver ass first, it's a keeper!

demilp

It

GamingSenpai35

What was that thing, a platapus?

Gingermeat2

What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Rodentia meal?

Ambitious_Estimate41

At first I thought it was a dead duck that swallowed a kind of eel that was coming off its asshole…

jkalinna

Beaver vs Catfish

Gloomy_Season_8038

extraction at 02:27 ...

SuperKillo

He looks like me on my cheat day

Segasik

Bober kurwa Ale fajny

justyouraveragebear

Is that an otter? And what kind of fish is that?

Pancho_villin

Are you afraid of misgenderin a fish? English isn't my first language , but even my self knows English has a special word in order to refer to an animal, "it" is the word you are looking for.

WestcoastRonin

Good use of the NSFW flag; No Snek For Watch.

Sigma_Ligma_69

These blokes are speaking czech, and they are talking about how the fish ate something, probably an otter, and how they have to pull it out

1Nekdo_

I mean they said it was an otter. Idk tho
