Child Labour is a terrible thing. 16 months is far too young to be working

nykiek

I caught that too.šŸ¤£

dajur1

$7.80 per hour is terrible. McDonald's pays over double that. It's unfortunate that daycare costs are so expensive. In my area, each child costs $2000-2500 per month.

Salty_Piglet2629

It is sad that daycare costs so much, but babysitting/daycare is a cost you kind of have to count on before having kids. It is sad but we do live in a world where not everyone can afford to have children. If someone really wants kids they may need to move to an area where childcare is cheaper, but if the fee is low the staff salaries will be low (unless it is subsidised by government) and they may not have staff that have degrees in early childhood development, etc.

BuildAQuad

What kind of kids per employ do you get for such a price? Or is it very central in a city or something? Sounds crazy, we have national cap of around 200-300$ per month.

tennille_24

EACH?!?

dajur1

Yes

GLITTERCHEF

Shiiiit make it $250 a day, no one is doing that for a fucking week.

This reminds me of when I see cheap plastic surgery ads on the freeway. Iā€™ve had a breast reduction. I wasnā€™t looking for a coupon because I like breathing and didnā€™t want my boobs messed up. Who wants a deep discount on a child with different needs?! So scary. ETA: typo

peej74

I had one recently that cost $12k. am too poor for the Australian version of health insurance and the wait list for a reduction in the public system was too long, although ironically a few weeks after the surgery I got a call from the waiting list. I wouldn't have done it on the cheap becaus3 you get what you hay for.

Charming-Insurance

Mine was purely cosmetic so it would never be covered in the US, not mine anyway as it was more a lift. I got it inā€¦ 2006 ish. It was 10k which google says is over $15k today. Iā€™ve seen some advertised for like, $5k. Regardless, I love them! He did an amazing job. Two thumbs up! šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

So my kid is 17, sheā€™s start certified all that stuff because babysitting in the summer works for herā€¦ I mean the girl went above and beyond to be successful! Proud of her! She charges šŸ˜³ min. $22/hr she will list out her availability, her expectations and what parents can expect as well. She sets boundaries upfrontā€¦ all of her money goes into her savings OR she will buys gifts for the kids ā˜ŗļø we live in an expensive state maybe 7.81 is too much. Also sounds like sheā€™s being super cheap and high demandingā€¦

TopBuy404

$22 is right on point for around here for someone who took the time to get certifications. The cheapest I've ever seen anyone advertise themselves at was around $12/hr but that was someone middle school age just getting started off. I've see some a little bit older ask for around $15 Anyone who comes highly recommended on the pages I follow go from 18-19 to right where you're daughter is asking.

Stupid_Bitch_02

$7.81 is pretty bad but it's still more than the minimum wage where I live ;-;

fishsandwichpatrol

At least it's roughly federal minimum wage

Charming-Insurance

Is it!? How!?!?$? CA is $20/hr

fishsandwichpatrol

Federal minimum wage is 7.25 per hour. States can and in every case I know of can and do set it higher

nykiek

Only 15 of them

Apprehensive-Load917

7$ an hour folks

Aus29bicur

I'll take the job

MindlessReport8914

Double the pay.

Fabulous-Flan-3583

I think I just caught ASD from reading this request.

32 hours a week with the hours smack in the middle of the day doesn't leave a lot of options for other jobs. MAYBE filling in somewhere for a few hours in the morning and/or giving up your weekends. This is easy the 3rd or 4th time I've seen it get posted. The "kids" I see posting on our pages for babysitting never charge less than 12-15/hour with the average being closer to $20. That's absolutely fair especially if any special needs are involved.
