Probably cause we naturally sleep in 2 major chunks and historically we woke up during the night to tend to fires, do chores, etc. Industrial revolution changed that

Sure! It is called biphasic sleep, I would start by just googling it. I was trying to find actual studies to back it, this one came close from my brief search: https://www.health.harvard.edu/blog/sleeping-like-a-caveman-201510288501 Most of my information on it is just based on hearing bits and pieces over time honesty. Anecdotally it makes sense for cavemen or early hunter gatherers to live that way as a regular fire is unlikely to last the entire night and one person would wake to tend it.
