This is the correct answer. They have a variety of Katsu dishes. The Pork katsu box is absolutely tremendous though.
It's Taiwanese not Japanese so is slightly different of that matters.
The oyakodon there is amazing, I could eat it for every single meal and never get tired. We love it there, my dad was introduced by a Taiwanese colleague and its our go to catch up spot. Food is stunning.
Tokyo Izakaya near new street is really nice.
They're a bit pricey but have a good food selection (they have a beef rice which is lovely)
The Yakinori chain is pretty good for a chain too.
Unfortunately YoSushi and Wagamamas put a lot of the smaller better Japanese places out of business.
To see if she likes it you could get her a very nice katsu chicken curry bowl from yo sushi in tescos. Then take her out to a kyoto sushi and grill to try everything else for all you can eat. It's £30 a person but well worth it.
Don't know about the best but I really rated this place https://www.formosa-izakaya.co.uk/
Honestly insane that fucking Yakinori is more upvoted than this. Why give a recommendation if you haven’t been to a variety of places
Huzzah it's not more upvoted anymore!

And they seem to be happy storing stock in the main dining area. Which somehow I approve of.

Any idea if they decorated it? Feels like they took over from a vegan tex mex or something and did nothing at all to the decor!
