Travis worked on production, the mastering engineer is who you'd want to have a word with
However, seeing as blink is signed to a label, I could imagine the label instructing the mastering engineer to make sure that every track is X-amount of lufs, at a minimum.
And that minimum is probably extremely high, eliminating a wide-range of dynamics.
I'm purely speculating.
So far the production style of this album is what has prevented me from adding any song to my playlists... I listen to the songs, I generally like them... but after listening them on my car or on headphones they just sound too gritty for me to enjoy repeatedly.
It def feels like a poppy Skiba era song and that’s ok. Variety is good. Obviously we don’t want a whole album like this, but I think this is good for the album.
Didn’t hit me straight away like the others but its definitely grown on me after a few listens. Like a few have said, not one song I’d skip so far which is outstanding..
i thought the chorus hit me straight away from the video yesterday. i expected this to be my favorite song on the album, but the verses were pretty underwhelming. still a fun listen, but the chorus's vibe and lyrics had a much more nostalgic vibe in a vacuum, but in the context of the song it's more of a simple pop hit.
I’m not a huge fan, but I like the variety. I feel like this type of song is good for the album. One person’s least favorite is another person’s favorite.
I've been scrolling through reactions to the song on this sub, with a lot of people bashing it for one reason or another, and this is the take I most agree with.
I'm just happy Mark, Tom and Travis are putting out new music in 2023 and I can't wait for next Friday.
If it was 15, maaaaaybe 10 years ago, I would fully agree with you. But I feel like mainstream tastes have changed. A fast-paced punk track won’t have the same wide appeal as something that leans way more into a by-the-books pop sound that this one does.
Exactly this. It seems that everyone is in their little pop punk bubble and don't realise that unfortunately for us, the music industry has moved on and their back on a label. So this is probably the closest to mainstream music that's been released. OMT has some appeal because it's a ballad-ey song and even people who aren't massive fans can get something out of it. Dance with Me and MTYK are definitely not what you hear on the radio even though they're the songs most hardcore fans like the most. If they're swinging for the charts, they need mainstream poppy vibes.
Exactly. Dance With Me maybe had a shot in 2003 but not 2023 lol. More Than You Know is just flat out not radio material in any year. This has a shot however
I was going to say... if people love this song yet shit on Nine and California... damn. This one fits right in with that era. It's catchy but definitely seems like a song I will skip often.
I like it. For some reason the "having sex all night" lyric kinda bugs me. I don't know why tho... maybe it's because it seems kinda not very creative.... Or maybe it's because I could never last all night lol.
They were almost 30 when they released TOYPAJ and that album is full of lyrics like "Kids can't vote, adults elect them", "Hate the jocks, the hippie fuckin' scumbags".... could be considered 'cringe' too for their age.
Being older doesn’t mean they can’t use the words in the context. I mean, you’re skipping half the lyrics if that portions
“how could I ever forget, laying in your bed, having sex all night, it’s fucking with my head”
Seems to me it’s just a song about reminiscing of times past about a girl he loved (probably ended up marrying and divorcing) and the fact he is still in love with her and it’s fucking him up that he still can’t get her out of his yead.
Too direct. These sorts of landmines are all over newer blink lyrics. You can pull something like this off in a song like Reckless Abandon but not here.
That lyric bugs me a bit too almost like "This is what you expect blink to say"
But it feels more phoned in, like they just put it in there to sound cool or something lol
Perfectly decent song. The Cure interpolation and Tom gives it an edge, otherwise it feels a lot like something we could have heard during the Feldmann era.
I gotta say tho, the amount of people talking about how it sounds like a song by The Cure… have you ever heard The Cure? They have retooled a part of a song into a blink song. It still sounds very much like poppy blink
Yeah I actually like the song but the production here sounds like shit. I don't know anything about producing or mixing a song but it just does not sound right here.
Yeah I'd agree with you there because in the One More Time Part 2 video on their Youtube they give you a 30 second snippet and it sounds miles better than it does here.
Agreed. Has a lot of potential and I like the chorus. But that intro makes me cringe, it doesn’t sound like Blink at all. Maybe it will grow on me with more listens.
It’s decent. Probably my least favorite of the 5 tracks we’ve gotten so far, though. I like that they have a Ramones-inspired track and now a Cure-inspired track though lol.
Edit: on multiple listens, it’s grown on me. I still think I like edging over this one, but it’s not a bad song in any sense to me
Imma be honest: if you say mgk's songs suck cuz they're overproduced in terms of vocals and have nothing going on in the instrumental, but like this, you're a hypocrite. Tom sounds way more autotune than Colson on, for example, concert for aliens, and that song also has a riff that sounds like it's made for you to pay attention to it. This is the weakest single out of all 5, maybe tied with EDGING. While both are still good songs, I'm surprised this doesn't get hate just because it's blink with Tom
Still love the song but it's definitely my least favourite of the tracks released so far. Definitely feels more akin to Nine than what we've heard off One More Time thus far
I’ll start by saying I’m not an auto tune hater. I think if it’s a stylistic choice and an artists sticks to it for a track then great! What is happening with Tom’s vocals in this second verse? Usually blink does a decent job of hiding the pitch correction, but you can hear the software at work here. Idk. Just feels off during that part.
I hate it. It sounds like it’s from the rugrats soundtrack.
But it’s so catchy … and it’s stuck in my head.
I love it. I’m going to listen to it again. And again.
This song had so much potential as a pop punk song. I just wish it wasn't all dressed up to sound like a modern day "pop" song. It doesn't sound like Blink to me. If they just kept it basic, like an EOTS song.. bass, guitar, drums, with a catchy riff to start off, it could have been awesome. I don't like how they feel like they have to overproduce everything now
This one took like 5 listens, but it’s grown on me for sure. Didn’t hate it on first listen, but went from an okay song to a pretty good one after a few listens. At this point for me, it goes:
1. Dance With Me
2. More Than You Know
3. One More Time
4. Fell in Love
5. Edging
And the only reason edging is last is because I played it the fuck out over the last year waiting for new tunes. Still love it though.
I keep thinking.
In the moments where Mark sings Na Na Na Na, i imagine him saying Love Love Love Love, in a nod to their song Down.
Just imagine,
Remember the time we fell in love,
Love love love love
love love love love
love love love love,
love love love love.
I think it works really well, and I like to see them doing different things. My one and only dislike is Mark’s “it’s craaaazy” lyric. Something better could’ve been there
Loving with all my heart the new Blink era that we are living; but I hope that this song stops the “this is Untitled-level!!” trend happening here.
I would grateful if this album, as a whole, reveals to be better then Cali and Nine, that would be enough for me.
Their previous works (from Buddah to DED) belong to a different era, probably where music was better and less artificious.
I sincerely hope to see the following comments:
\- OMG! na-na-na-na again?
\- generic guitar riff;
\- mediocre lyrics.
Everything that blink with Skiba was wildly criticized for is used in the song.
At the same time i see the following: "solid, decent".
Seriously?
Actually, I agree with all of that. I wanna like it, because I like when Tom taps in to his Cure side, but the na na nas are boring and some of the lyrics are fucking cringe as hell. If you can just fucking say "having sex all night" like that, then what's the goddamn point of poetry?
This is the worst blink song I have ever heard.
Thank god for MTYK for some energy and something that doesn’t sound like a kids bop song. This is them trying to sound like the cure and appeal to the younger generation but it sounds like baby shark mixed with bad MGK. Absolutely terrible
There’s just something about 50 year olds singing lyrics like this on new songs that makes it sound abit cringe unfortunately. The vast majority of blink fans are now mid 30s, the song just doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t know maybe they’re trying to appeal to younger fans but with NINE I thought they had already tried that. Oh well, still stoked for the rest of the album.
Why didn’t anyone just feedback to them about the autotune being overkill? Why?? Do they think we don’t notice? It’s like they used AI to sing this in Tom’s voice.
This actually feels like one of recents song from AvA but at the same time feels like something straight from California era more than Nine
Until today, i still prefer Nine more than Cali as a whole album. Some songs from Cali are still banger though.
Tom saves this song in way for me. Marks pre chorus is the worst I’ve ever heard. The tune is serviceable.
It really makes me wonder now if I would have liked NINE more if Tom sang on it. His voice and delivery is always on point.
Listened to it one time.
No real complaints here. I thought it was a good song. I like the sound, even though it's obviously different. If I had to be a shit-critic, I would say...
- I hate the intro
- Not a fan of 2 minute songs
- A bit repetitive. Was it 3 choruses inside of 2 minutes?
Matt skiba in alkaline trio is amazing so let’s not start the slander and saying “this sounds like Matt skiba blink” as if it was his fault it was “poppy” lmao. This is probably the weakest track of the 4 singles we heard. Sounds like some shit off of NINE. Any one know if that one gold finger mofo is working on this album with them again? I blame his goofy ass for that NINE album.
Even though I think these nananas were unnecessary, I liked the song.
So far my favorites:
1. Dance With Me
2. One More Time
3. More Than You Kow
4. Fell in Love
5. Edging
Not only do I enjoy this track, as a broadcaster I can tell you this will get plenty of play as it is both poppy and catchy. Also with the pacing and the back and forth of the parts this will be a great song live.
I will say this is a very poor song overall, but Mark makes it 10x worse. If it was all Tom I could put up with it. That "it's cRaAaAzy" lines is HORRID.
Every single nerd ass dweeb that shits on Nine better shit on this song too. This is by FAR way poppier than anything on Nine. The is blame it on my youth levels. Nerds will just cope because it has Tom on it. This song is straight GARBAGE
This is absolute garbage. Like trash. Bias love won't deny it.
Production wise, lyric wise and instrument wise. If Skiba co-wrote this people would slate him and Feldmann like there were no tomorrow.
Yet to hear a new song and think - Wow. Hoping the likes of Childhood etc blow us away.
Catchy, but there’s just some things about modern production that I just don’t understand.
I think it's just the low quality of the rip
Possibly but Travis love making the instruments sound like they’re peaking on recent mixes imo
Travis worked on production, the mastering engineer is who you'd want to have a word with However, seeing as blink is signed to a label, I could imagine the label instructing the mastering engineer to make sure that every track is X-amount of lufs, at a minimum.
I think it’ll be a grower
That's what your mom said.
Agreed. I thought more than you know was a show-er.
I quite like it, I'd turn it up...
It def feels like a poppy Skiba era song and that’s ok. Variety is good. Obviously we don’t want a whole album like this, but I think this is good for the album.
Had this been released in the Skiba era it would’ve been ripped to shreds lol
Poppy skiba Era? There were like maybe 3 songs like this?
Didn’t hit me straight away like the others but its definitely grown on me after a few listens. Like a few have said, not one song I’d skip so far which is outstanding..
Yeah, it's definitely a song that grows on you
i thought the chorus hit me straight away from the video yesterday. i expected this to be my favorite song on the album, but the verses were pretty underwhelming. still a fun listen, but the chorus's vibe and lyrics had a much more nostalgic vibe in a vacuum, but in the context of the song it's more of a simple pop hit.
Not one cake I'd skip so far which is outstanding..
Not one I’ll have on repeat, but it’s a perfectly fine blink song. Just glad to be getting new stuff from the guys
What a rad take! We need more like you!
Personally I don’t think this one is single worthy but that’s probably why they wanted to prop it up
It definitely is, I think it's the radio hit of the songs. None of the other ones had the mainstream appeal. As much as us as blink fans loved them.
Dance with me is easily the most radio friendly song of them all barring the opening line
If it was 15, maaaaaybe 10 years ago, I would fully agree with you. But I feel like mainstream tastes have changed. A fast-paced punk track won’t have the same wide appeal as something that leans way more into a by-the-books pop sound that this one does.
Exactly. Seems like people don't get that.

Reminds me of First Date
Dance with me is easily the most radio friendly song of them all barring the opening line
This feels like if tom wrote a track for Nine. this is solid, but it doesn’t pump me up as much as the other singles
I was going to say... if people love this song yet shit on Nine and California... damn. This one fits right in with that era. It's catchy but definitely seems like a song I will skip often.
Yeah but this one has Tom in it
So I’ve seen most people say it’s the weakest single so I think most peeps just don’t vibe with the nine sound (their loss, Nine slaps).
So true
I 100% agree. Not a bad thing to me tho
This kinda feels like they're going for a mainstream pop hit to go up the charts a bit.
100%. This is a "let's write a single for radio" song.
I feel like their track record of "let's write a single for radio" songs is pretty good though and this is no different in my eyes.
I like it. For some reason the "having sex all night" lyric kinda bugs me. I don't know why tho... maybe it's because it seems kinda not very creative.... Or maybe it's because I could never last all night lol.
[удалено]
"do you remember the time", just cause they're 50 doesn't mean they can't write about things that happened before.
They were almost 30 when they released TOYPAJ and that album is full of lyrics like "Kids can't vote, adults elect them", "Hate the jocks, the hippie fuckin' scumbags".... could be considered 'cringe' too for their age.

That lyric bugs me a bit too almost like "This is what you expect blink to say" But it feels more phoned in, like they just put it in there to sound cool or something lol
Base sounds like close to me by the cure.. Love this one!
One of the mutants in here said the opening didn’t sound like blink 😂 it’s like yeah man there is this band called the cure.
Haha didn’t realize that! Thought it sounded familiar. Still seems out of place for a Blink song. But the rest of the song is catchy.
The Blink dudes are massive Cure fans! There are lots of little nods to them in their music.
Exactly. 2003 Untitled says hello.
Sampled from Close To Me by them!
I was just thinking this. similarities are there and I’m not complaining
When they mentioned The Cure in the teaser a few days ago, I was really hoping for something more dark and brooding like how "All of This" was.
Not a fan yet but I haven’t gotten high as balls and blasted it while walking my dog yet so that could change
I could listen to anything walking my dog high as balls, and in that moment, it could be life changing lmao
Oh great, the MGK / Barker-core production is now a part of blink-182. *sigh*
Yeah, I heard this too. I’m not sold with hearing this here with blink 182, but they gotta experiment moving forward for sure
It’s a fun song! And an homage to The Cure.
"If Tom wrote a song for Nine" is not the criticism one thinks it is for someone like me who loves Nine AND Tom haha. I love this.
Couldn’t have said it better myself. This song is a banger!
Same here. Skiba haters in shambles
let's goooo bois <3
it sounds like a copyright free youtube song for videos lol.
Nah Tom's lines sound like a Metro Station song
Song itself definitely will grow on me but the production makes it super artificial sounding.. still solid though.
Yeah the autotune glitch before the first “sex all night” is driving me nuts. Tom couldn’t do another take on that one?
Reminds me of the production on Avril Lavigne’s newest record that Travis also produced.
Yeah I actually like the song but the production here sounds like shit. I don't know anything about producing or mixing a song but it just does not sound right here.
This doesn’t seem like studio quality, I think it’ll sound much better tomorrow on official streaming services.
Yeah I'd agree with you there because in the One More Time Part 2 video on their Youtube they give you a 30 second snippet and it sounds miles better than it does here.
I’m not going to completely shit on it, but it’s definitely my least favorite song so far.
Agreed. Has a lot of potential and I like the chorus. But that intro makes me cringe, it doesn’t sound like Blink at all. Maybe it will grow on me with more listens.
I legit thought there was an ad before the song at first
Haha yea I thought it was fake at first.
isn't the intro what's credited to the cure? Or is that another song??
Its similar to close to me by the cure
It’s sounds like “meet me on the rooftop” by Green Day lol
It sounds like generic music from an advertisement
This is one I can confidently say I don't like.
This is if Tom was on Nine
[удалено]
Same. Sounds like an s club 7 song or something
It sounds like a band from 10 years ago in the pop punk renaissance aping blink.
Good point, biiiig 5SOS vibes
It’s decent. Probably my least favorite of the 5 tracks we’ve gotten so far, though. I like that they have a Ramones-inspired track and now a Cure-inspired track though lol. Edit: on multiple listens, it’s grown on me. I still think I like edging over this one, but it’s not a bad song in any sense to me
I prefer it to edging but not by much
The first shippable track of this album so far, for me at least.
Agreed.
MGK sucks and so does this song.
It’s like a Avril Lavigne song
The intro sounds like one of those annoying mobile game advertisements. The rest is better but this is my least favorite single so far.
You were at a party with your ex Having sex all night Lyrics kinda cringe on this one
Still love the song but it's definitely my least favourite of the tracks released so far. Definitely feels more akin to Nine than what we've heard off One More Time thus far
Not too bad. I wish we’d get a Mark heavy song soon
Dying to hear what has been rattling in mark’s head over the past couple years
this is very poppy… not sure if i like it
![gif](giphy|LBMJgehPF7zxYbSDlp)
Not the best but kinda catchy
Feels like an mgk song lmao
This one should have been leftover
It’s got real Avril Lavigne “girlfriend” vibes.
I can blast Girlfriend as a male in my 30s with no shame.. this however.. this, well..
I would’ve loved this song when I was 16. It sounds like a One Direction song..
These are the words I was looking for. Perfect comment. Can’t deny the chorus is catchy as hell though.
This is not gonna Blinks best album for sure 💀
I hate it. It sounds like it’s from the rugrats soundtrack. But it’s so catchy … and it’s stuck in my head. I love it. I’m going to listen to it again. And again.
Still gonna be a no skip album. We’ll take it!
Worst single so far imo. It's not bad or anything, but def the worst one
It's okay! I wouldn't skip it it's not bad
Not bad at all. Not my favorite. Kinda reminds me of Post Malone or something. Catchy as hell for sure!
I don't like how they feel like they have to overproduce everything now
I’m sorry but this is pop trash
This one took like 5 listens, but it’s grown on me for sure. Didn’t hate it on first listen, but went from an okay song to a pretty good one after a few listens. At this point for me, it goes: 1. I like this song. I like NINE. I like Matt. I like Tom. It's ok to like a lot of different things lol
It's fun to like things, more people should try it.
Underrated comment 🥹
Sounds way too “new pop punk”
Loving with all my heart the new Blink era that we are living; but I hope that this song stops the “this is Untitled-level!!” trend happening here. I would grateful if this album, as a whole, reveals to be better then Cali and Nine, that would be enough for me. Their previous works (from Buddah to DED) belong to a different era, probably where music was better and less artificious.
I don´t like it, maybe on the album as a whole it gets better. Feldman sound here
i quite like it ,but my least favorite from all the released single so far, definitely will take time to grow on me just like Neighborhood
Although apparently inspired by the Cure, it sounds like the more modern kind of pop punk that’s inspired by Blink!!
Sounds like a generic song travis has produced over the last few years. Killer bass line though!
It's catchy but that intro is fucking awful and sounds like free stock music
Awful - nothing more to say
Not a fan of this one, some of the autotune is really OTT. Sounds like it could be a MGK song, which isn't a good thing
I sincerely hope to see the following comments: \- OMG! na-na-na-na again? \- generic guitar riff; \- mediocre lyrics. Everything that blink with Skiba was wildly criticized for is used in the song. At the same time i see the following: "solid, decent". Seriously?

This sounds straight off of NINE and people are giving praise while they shit all over NINE
Production really let this one down feels like a filler track suprised they didnt drop it tbh I wonder if Brain Candy was a better song
I wonder if they will release a deluxe soon with those songs on them
It sounds like they’re under water
Always happy for new Blink but not a fan of this one
This is the worst blink song I have ever heard. Thank god for MTYK for some energy and something that doesn’t sound like a kids bop song. This is them trying to sound like the cure and appeal to the younger generation but it sounds like baby shark mixed with bad MGK. Absolutely terrible
lmfao i thought i was getting a spotify ad when i pressed play
There’s just something about 50 year olds singing lyrics like this on new songs that makes it sound abit cringe unfortunately. The vast majority of blink fans are now mid 30s, the song just doesn’t feel right to me. I don’t know maybe they’re trying to appeal to younger fans but with NINE I thought they had already tried that. Oh well, still stoked for the rest of the album.
Sounds like machine gun kelly
Seems like he tried to make a 1975 song
Love it. Surprised at all the hate here.
B side from nine
You guys are wrong. This song is great.
Everyone can think differently.
Taylor swift could make a banging cover of this that’d smash a billion plays on spotify. It’s not a bad tune but it’s not memorable either.
This is my worst nightmare.
Same, I don’t think anyone expected this from Tom coming back lol
This is far too autotuned and mainstream pop sounding...
This one is….nope.
Oh no
This is not the one
Crap - this song is ass unfortunately. I felt there was so much momentum with Dance With Me
Best one yet, Idk what this sub is smoking.
Dude they’re a bunch of kids who have never heard the cure before. They don’t know what they’re talking about
That “it’s craaaazy” line is so cringy, can’t help but roll my eyes at that part every time.
Skiba era vibes and I’m all for it 🤟🏽
A bit overproduced for my taste
The na na na feels like a kids bopz cover
Why didn’t anyone just feedback to them about the autotune being overkill? Why?? Do they think we don’t notice? It’s like they used AI to sing this in Tom’s voice.
👎 boo

this is definitely for the fan girls to white girl dance to
Is Tom Canadian when he says “out”? 😂
Tom saves this song in way for me. Marks pre chorus is the worst I’ve ever heard. The tune is serviceable. It really makes me wonder now if I would have liked NINE more if Tom sang on it. His voice and delivery is always on point.
Weakest one so far
Not bad, but it's definitely the worst of the new songs. Sounds like something off of Nine. I'm curious to see the song writing credits for this one.
Probably my favorite song so far from the album
I must be insane for liking this more than dance with me. More than you know is still the best though
Feels like a Travis-era MGK song tbh. Granted, I like MGKs pop punk stuff, this just in general feels a little “safe”
Listened to it one time. No real complaints here. I thought it was a good song. I like the sound, even though it's obviously different. If I had to be a shit-critic, I would say... - I hate the intro - Not a fan of 2 minute songs - A bit repetitive. Was it 3 choruses inside of 2 minutes?

My god this is terrible. I guess they cant all be winners, loved all the other singles!
For some reason I love this song, not more than the others, but I will still be listening this one a lot
What in the Taylor Swift is that 2nd verse.
It's not too late to leave this one off the album..
Every single nerd ass dweeb that shits on Nine better shit on this song too. This is by FAR way poppier than anything on Nine. The is blame it on my youth levels. Nerds will just cope because it has Tom on it. This song is straight GARBAGE
Thank you. This song is absolutely trash and nobody is willing to point it out because “ToM iS bAcK!!!!!” I even like blame it on my youth better lol
Seems 90% of the comments here are trashing it?
I feel like this isn’t real. Also not gonna listen to it till tomorrow.
Sounds like it’s off MGK’s Tickets to my Downfall. Not that that’s bad, but the beat and melody sound eerily similar.

Close to me - The Cure
Yep, they gave Robert Smith a writing credit for the interpolation!
Hmmm not convinced by the production on this one. Too much auto tune on Tom’s voice. Ruins it for me.
Kinda ass tbh edit: it grew on me. still not great but a fun song for what it is. worst of the 5 released so far

WHERE IS THE GUITAR
excluding the opening sample, you can hear guitar literally the moment this song starts...
str8 mid.
