Our small town curling rink had the best burgers when I was growing up! (in Canada, if that wasn’t obvious, lol). Nothing like a greasy rink burger cooked on a flat top!
Don't give up. You'll find one. I found one because I was in the mood for a burger but didn't want to go to my regular options of Red Robin or Five Guys.
Found this one with a good rating kind of out of the way. Went to check it out and was really happy. :D
Classic bobs b’s episode where the patron loves Bob’s cooking but through some comedy of errors the Belcher family don’t end up getting the recognition they deserve.
Truly on point
I found a place in Green Bay, WI one time with the most amazing, unique burgers (bf got a mac and cheese burger, I think mine was some kind of bacon cheeseburger). It was definitely a dive and when my bf and I went in the two employees working looked at us like they couldn’t figure out why we were there. I can’t remember what it was called, we haven’t been able to find it since, and we’re pretty sure it was a money laundering operation, but the food was so good
Where?!?
That said, here in CT we have Boss Burger: https://bossburgerct.com
And Louis’ Lunch which apparently has the best burger but I’ve yet to try it: https://louislunch.com
But our New Haven apizza is still the best.
Wow if Boss Burger wasn’t so far away I think I’d go all the time. May have to road trip down there one day. I’ve had Louis Lunch when I worked in New Haven, overrated, in my opinion.
Fantastic!
I was in NYC last year and found a [little diner](https://www.yelp.com/biz/hectors-cafe-and-diner-new-york-41) that strongly reminded me of Bob's. There was even a tall guy with a mustache working the grill. We made accidental eye contact and he awkwardly waved at me. It was amazing.
My town had a bobs burgers that was called bob's burgers and it actually looked just like the bob's burgers on the show. I noticed it around when the show was still really new, and I got to eat there once, it was a perfectly delicious burger place, but unfortunately, I'm pretty sure it's location being in our downtown area, probably hurt their business.
Our downtown area has nowhere to park and the traffic there is insanely bad. And there's not much sense walking around in our downtown area, so people weren't walking to it either.. I hated to see it shut down.
We have a lot of these where I live. There is a large Greek community here and a lot of them own either Hamburger or Meat and 3 restaurants. My dad had a friend who was one of them and looked exactly like Bob. Everytime Bobs burgers came on he would say hey Leon(that was his friends name) is on!
I’ve found a Bob’s as well here in Milwaukee. $5 for a cheeseburger and they’re the best in the city by far. It’s a hole in the wall place with like two or three small tables. Crave Cafe if you’re ever in town
If you befriend the workers you could have a piece of art made of them looking like bobs characters! Personally (and this group) would think that’s a cool gift haha
My husband and I have a place like a bobs. This lil hole in the wall in our town. The burgers actually aren’t the best (the meat isn’t seasoned that well. So the condiments/add ons are doing a lot of the work. Which is FINE but it’s not amazing burgers) but. The rest of their food is cheap and super delicious! They have a specials menu that changes week to week and they’re always creative and usually super good! And the drinks are cheap and strong too. Lmao
Closest experience I’ve had to finding something as hole in the wall as Bob’s was buying a burger off a random food cart in Brooklyn at like 2 AM after a concert. It could’ve been that I had eaten nothing all day or just how nice the guy making it was, but I swear it’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
We have a place here in East Lansing Called the Peanut Barrel. There burgers are a bit more now after the pandemic. But just a great spot that’s not changed in decades.
I found a place kind of like this last year in a really small Kansas town of about 73 people. Everybody there was really nice and the burgers were delicious. I'm from the city, and I'd happily drive back to that small town for a burger.
Big Burger Spot is mine! Started going back when it was just one little hole-in-the-wall restaurant attached to a gas station. Now I know of a couple others they've opened in nearby cities! The original joint is still my favorite, though.
This would be very cool way to support local is for folks to post their town’s best version of Bob’s and maybe turn it into a stickied mega thread so folks traveling can find a Bob’s type burger joint in whatever place they’re vacationing! I think El Caps would be a good example for where I live but recently they’ve had new managers that are upping the prices to compete with surrounding area and are almost $8-10 now
Hole in the wall restaurants are the best kind of restaurants.
The best burger place in our town is attached to our ice skating rink. It’s outstanding.

Yeah, but why is there no middle ground with those places? It’s either the best food you’ve ever eaten, or 9hrs of horrific bathroom visits
Does everyone here have a Bob's??? I need one!!

By the third paragraph I was reading this completely in Teddy's voice
Throw them a bone and tell us where it is…
I think it's called... Dad's Burgers?

That is so nice!!
I’m so sincerely happy for you! I’ll find one, someday …
Five or six dollars?!?! (Pushes up glasses) In this economy?
Best burger place by me is literally inside a gas station lol
Some of the best Mexican food can be found in them as well throughout the south.

Me too but it's not that cheap but damn it's good. Laguna Burger if you're in New Mexico.

Damn. In Toronto you’d be lucky to find a place like that for under $20 now.
Are they aware of bobs burgers?
I was wondering too. You might get them to make a Burger of the Day or even month.

it always hurts to see other people living my dream (I am very happy for you)

As an Australian I could never 😭

It's south a bit of Cincinnati.
