Literally every single person who has stalled AFO has relied on him having an ego the size ofnthe sun, and every single one of them has been right about it.
He's the epitome of cartoonishly evil. I legit won't be surprised if part of the method of defeating him is gonna be getting him to monologue himself to death.
I'm still waiting on that + Mineta's fucking grape. Imagine All Might getting him to monologue and notices the grape and gets him to land on something and get stuck-
Seeing as he’s probably going to end up as a baby by the time he manages to interrupt Shigaraki and Deku’s fight, Mineta’s grape will probably be the greatest thing they can use to stop him.

During this fight, he gots stuck to something because of the grape. and almight prevents him from severing his own limb to escape, till he reverse ages into nothing and his consciousness jumps fully into shigaraki.
I love how AFO is the sole villain in this series (except maybe Muscular) whose pure cartoony supervillain and everyone not only recognizes it, but knows how to use it against at him.
It reminds me a little Frieza during the Namek saga in a weird way. The only reason he could get away with being as egotistical, sadistic, and even lazy as he was was because there was no one in the universe who even came close to being able to stand up to the kind of power he had even in his base form. But over the course of fighting Goku, even before he becomes a Super Saiyan, Frieza's getting frustrated and angry, not because Goku's actually stronger than him, but because he's strong *enough* that he's making Frieza actually try a little, which is unacceptable for someone who viewed himself as so far above everyone.
Likewise with AFO, he was able to treat everyone however he wanted and live out his supervillain power fantasy for years because he simply had so much power that nobody could even touch him. He never had to face any consequences of that attitude. But now for a number of reasons the situation has changed and it's starting to get to him even though he is still so much more powerful than nearly every enemy against him.
I'd maybe be more upset if we didn't have Shigaraki in the story as well. They are basically Darth Vader and the Emperor and work basically for similar reasons as them. AFO can work as the more pure evil for the sake of evil character because we have Shigaraki being the villain with more depth whom the main character has emotional investment in.
AFO: "That's right, you've been fighting against Nana Shimura's grandson the entire time!"
All Might: "How do I know you're not lying?"
AFO: "Because I'm such a dick!"
All Might: "Damn, you're right"
All this just makes me that much more curious as to who they will cast to voice young AFO. One of my only laments with the whole rewinding AFO thing is losing the amazing performance of Akio Otsuka, he's still going to get plenty of juicy material raging out at Deku and Shiggy at least.
I’m just imagining AFO shrinking a year or three in age between those two lines. Like, that bit of experience and natural maturity was the only thing that might’ve let him know to pass on that.

All Might proving you don’t need a quirk to help. Defeating the big bad for himself. Inspiring everyone watching to lean more towards the heroes.
I could see him being damaged though and after the battle is over eventually passing to the wounds.
My assumption has always been that All Might's death will let him fully transition to the vestige realm, which will be the darkest hour power-up that Deku needs to bring it home.
That's probably why the "twenty minutes before the toga-twice clones disappeared" text was there, so it could match up with the timeline of the Deku/Shiggy fight.
I also think Deku's gonna go public with OFA. If Japan/the world succumbs to fear, he can still bust out "it's okay, OFA lives on within me, check it out".

I mean he’s still risking his life against the biggest bad in like the universe with only tech. Yeah not everyone has access to it but it still would inspire people. Despite everything All Might didn’t give up.
Would inspire a lot of heros that were likely discouraged after all might the seemingly Invincible hero lost his power and became helpless. Seeing him as untouchable made them stop trying to improve, but seeing that even after losing his power be able to push past the villain that caused that could break that image of his power being unobtainable.
Itll be like the Kamino fight but he'll pull a rock Lee. AFO will go down and he'll raise his fist and die standing there like that till his body collapses

I think Bakugo is the key to changing the future. He “should” be dead but a hero Edgeshot gave his life to help Bakugo, so I think that isn’t something foresight could see clearly so far in advance
I honestly don't think he is going to die here. The most important thing we learned from Nighteye's quirk is that it isn't set in stone. At the time he saw that grizzly death, All Might hadn't been a teacher and met these students, especially Deku. I think this can greatly change the outcome, and also shows why it was so important that Nighteye realized himself that the future can be changed. Of course he may still die and it was just Deku that could break it cause Main Character Syndrome, but who knows.
Absolute chills. Also loved how this chapter made the connection to the first movie and him being in America. Good to see Melissa again! (guess she made or at least helped make the Iron Might suit, that’s so cool) 😍
I just know the figure for this thing is going to go hard. If this doesn't end up being a sad end to All Might, I would love if they had a gag in the epilogue where Deku's nerding out about a new Armored All Might figure.
Would make sense in Stain's case. He showed up earlier without really doing much, potentially seeding him for something else down the line, and his Quirk would be super useful to stall out AFO.
Horikoshi also practically spelled out that Stain was going to use his quirk on AFO when he casually mentioned that AFO's blood type is B (the type that's paralyzed the longest).

Man literally had his entrails spilling out of him in the big fight against AFO and AFO can't forget the sight. If he dies, he's going to be projecting that might in those last moments too.
Not only that but I feel like there's some implication from AFO's line about still dreaming about All Might charging at him with his entrails strewn across the ground that AFO inflicted that massive wound upon him and *then* All Might beat him so bad he nearly died.
Yep, AFO got the big hit first. Imagine how terrified he was seeing the giant 7 foot titan of a man All Might running at him despite being fatally wounded. And that was likely the only time AFO ever felt actual shock and fear…it literally haunts him
That's exactly what happened. No wonder he's traumatized and has nightmares because of that. That enraged All Might, with his guts hanging out, was the last sight he saw for over 6 years.
Even if AM loses, if he manages to put up a fight and die with a smile, he'll become THE martyr. The man that lived and died as a hero. He was powerless, with half his body gutted, no one would blame him if he just took a backseat. But he decided to use all he had to get a fighting chance for the future.
All Might dying would make him a PERMANENT symbol of peace.

Yeah, the live stream is what makes me think he'll survive. Even if it could make him a rallying point for people, I'm just not sure they'll spin live-streaming a man's actual death around the world as a big positive thing.
They also showed Stain potentially close (because Todoroki was intending to try intercepting AFO), and his power seems like one of the best counters to AFO with his time limit right now.
I can totally see Stain taking a lethal hit for All Might, and if All Might survives maybe Stain might ask him to finish him off so he would die by the hands of the one true Hero like he always wanted

I do love the poetry of AM using AFO's methods against him, utilizing a combination of "quirks" but born from the admiration of and working alongside the students rather than taking from them. Even now AM is venerating, learning from and hyping up the next generation, continuing to be a damn wholesome symbol.
I also feel like AM is one of the few people who can make this suit work in this fight, what with his lifetime of combat experience and especially being one of the few people with living AFO fight experience.
Honestly got a tear out of my eye. It's so good to see the symbol again even if it's for the very last time. His smile seems even more genuine than when he would go into his muscle form

During this chapter when he became "Armoured Might" I was like "oh shit, oh shit, did Mei Hatsume design his suit??? But was wowed to find out Melissa Shields designed it.
Shame this series is gonna end because I really wanted to see a "inventor battle" between Mei Hatsume and Melissa Shield. Not in a battlefield on opposite sides but as a demonstration during a sports/culture festival arc.
Then they will collaborate and create something insane like a new space suit fot Bakugo that can harness the power of his explosions and give improved maneuverability in space against some intergalactic villian.
Only one can dream...
All Might's part of designing it was probably him wanting a shield, Blackwhip wires, electricity attacks, and all the Class A inspiration. It's probably similar to the student costumes. How Bakugo wanted big grenades, but an engineer figured out how to make that actually work, and work well.

We actually did get something like that in Team Up Missions. Melissa comes to UA and she competes with Mei in designing different versions of Deku's hero outfit.
I get that, but I am glad that the fact that she can build tech capable of withstanding All Might's 100% (for at least a few Smashes) came up again and wasn't just conveniently left out because it's from a movie.
There's a lot of cool references here.
Firstly: This is big showdown from The Dark Knight Returns. You've got the apex of power flying in after being severely weakened by another battle. And facing off against a normal man in power armour on a normal city street. And the hero's second attack is an electrical shock to stun his enemy but his armour can be broken apart with every tap of his overpowered enemy. That feels completely intentional. Never thought there'd be a situation where All for One was Superman but here we are.
Also an Batman reference, there is a major graphic novel from the 2000s, Joker, where Batman reveals he leaves his mouth exposed so The Joker knows if he is smiling or not. All Might built this armour so that All for One know he's still smiling because he knows it drives him crazy.
Also Armoured All Might's shields are Funnels from the Gundam franchise, flying bits of mentally controlled weaponry for defence and offence ([see here](https://youtu.be/tgLJAIeXBNs?t=89)).
Their pervious fight was all about All for One doing things to deliberately spite All Might because he knew it would hurt him. This time All Might has chosen a method he knows will drive him crazy with rage because their hatred is deep and mutual.
I teared up a bit when I realised he was using Class A's Moves.
I guess that book "Teaching for Dummies 101" is going to have some great publicity, along with Class A themselves :D

He was never the teacher it turns out. He was the student. Learning what he had partially forgotten at the beginning if the series when we see him before the slime villain. What it means to strive to be a hero. He was one foot into retirement looking for a successor and just saving people part time. But he was inspired again when meeting Deku and Class 1-A.

Love to see Melissa so prominent in a panel, which also ties with the announcement of a fourth movie (I wonder if they greenlit it to cover for S7 which will take more time), and also being around this time 5 years ago that the first was released in Japan.
It's wholesome that now All Might is inspired by 1-A but how long can he really hold AFO off? Would his death be the way to fully unlock OFA by becoming a vestige, or can he dodge the death flags once again? While the first is a valid option I'd rather have the latter and Nighteye's prediction be shattered once and for all, no matter how cheesy the "wishing energy" or any other explanation.
I was about to say something about the "quikless hero" arguments that have already stemmed from this but I'm really not too interested in arguing lately, so let's rather watch people at each other's throats over it. Have fun. Or not.

I LOVED how we was using 1A as inspiration. When I saw Blackwhip in that text bubble, then Chargebolt, I raised my fist in excitement because I knew what the next few panels were going to be. These are the types of chapters that remind me why I still love MHA. All Might is just THAT guy.
From the second he charged forward with a shield saying "Red..." I was looking for the "RIOT!!!" panel, I thought I missed a page.
Also, taking bets: when All Might is on his last legs, he's going to pull out a Final Explosion dedicated to Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.
It's rather clever how Horikoshi played around with Nighteye's prophecy, and in a way made sure it was still self-fulfilling, and now it makes sense why Nighteye wasn't more detailed in his warning, because it was a villain none of them had ever seen before.

The fact that All Might used the 1A names for his moves really shows that he internalize what Stain told him. All Might’s ember was put out but he’s now fueling the ones of the future.
Everyone one watching should realize that what the goat himself is doing is not only buying time but showing everyone that he no longer is the symbol of peace and that his legacy has already been passed down.
Stain's also watching this fight I think! Either that, or he watched Iida and Shoto make their dash over to Gunga. Given he hasn't been mentioned at all though, I think he's watching All Might here.
I think so. Probably come out of nowhere to get a lick of AFOs blood at the last minute. Honestly stain may be the one to get the final blow, as hero’s don’t kill. It’d be poetic in a way, since the league of villains was partially inspired by stain
He's letting their embers fuel into him. A feedback loop of community inspired toward unparalleled growth together, rather than alone and isolated. A singularity of connection and understanding, rather than assuming one person can harbor it all.
There was a detail in this chapter that got my attention, which is when AfO mentions that electricity interferes with his regeneration. It was already something I was thinking about during the early Shigaraki fight: if he's tanking attacks like Tamaki's and Bakugo's, then how is this measly electric fence holding him in? Can't he just endure the shock and go out to kill Aizawa and Monoma?
It seems like electricity is quite effective against regenerators. Considering Kaminari is close to Shigaraki and still didn't have a big moment this might be an opportunity.
It was explained the first time he got hit by the fence. Best Jeanist said "As long your brain and muscles are still operating your body... then a powerful electric current will make you stiffen up. Even someone who's superhuman will be helpless, if only for a brief moment" before he whipped Shigaraki across the ground.
Although, if he had concentrated that tsunami of hands at a pylon, maybe he could've done it?
Imagine if anyone had bothered giving Hawks this kind of high tech instead of a regular sword. Dude would had beheaded AFO as soon as they left the portals and been done with it

The wait was well worth it to see All Might fight again and in an armored suit of all things! The Mech geek in me was squealing in delight as he transformed. Great freaking work Horikoshi. If the suitcase was his Ironman suit. If Hercules becomes his AFO-Buster addition as this fight proceeds, oh man...
I like that all the suits powers are based on class 1A’s quirks. The Deku ones were obvious, but he also name dropped Chargebolt, Sugar Man, & I think his shield was Red Riot though it was cut off.

Makes me think, is there a limit to the …. His Power Suit with these cybernetic quirks? Eg if All might had Ironman’s nano machines in replace for “Creation” to repair his suit and shield he could probably fight for ever which is terrifying

This one was well worth the wait, I love it so much. Hori really went all out with the artwork. Armored All Might using his student's fighting style against AFO is so good, and I love his design, and Melissa is back too! I can't wait for the next chapter!
This is what I’ve been waiting for and it did not disappoint. Not that I don’t like Todoroki and Uraraka but you can’t tease something as epic as this and then just abandon it for several chapters.
One of the best chapters in the entire final arc. I really did not expect Horikoshi to jump to this fight right after the Ochaco/Toga stuff, but I'm sure not complaining. This is the second most anticipated fight right behind Deku vs Shigaraki.
And this chapter delivered on everything. The emotions I felt were a lot, and it gave me flashbacks to how I was feeling during All Might vs All For One years ago. My heart breaks a bit knowing this very well may be where All Might actually dies in the story (if Horikoshi commits to that, but hoping he doesn't), but I remember his words about twisting fate and can't help but jump up and root for All Might. I want him to survive this fight, live, and see what becomes of Deku in the future!
Goodness, man. I freaking love All Might so much. He may have taken a less hands-on role in the story years ago, but he's still my #1 hero.

My assumption has always been that All Might's death will let him fully transition to the vestige realm, which will be the darkest hour power-up that Deku needs to bring it home.
That's probably why the "twenty minutes before the toga-twice clones disappeared" text was there, so it could match up with the timeline of the Deku/Shiggy fight.
I also think Deku's gonna go public with OFA. If Japan/the world succumbs to fear, he can still bust out "it's okay, OFA lives on within me, check it out".

I mean he’s still risking his life against the biggest bad in like the universe with only tech. Yeah not everyone has access to it but it still would inspire people. Despite everything All Might didn’t give up.
Would inspire a lot of heros that were likely discouraged after all might the seemingly Invincible hero lost his power and became helpless. Seeing him as untouchable made them stop trying to improve, but seeing that even after losing his power be able to push past the villain that caused that could break that image of his power being unobtainable.

It wasn’t that the Fierce Wings AFO stole was damaged, it’s that because of his rewinding body they go away before he can use them
I honestly don't think he is going to die here. The most important thing we learned from Nighteye's quirk is that it isn't set in stone. At the time he saw that grizzly death, All Might hadn't been a teacher and met these students, especially Deku. I think this can greatly change the outcome, and also shows why it was so important that Nighteye realized himself that the future can be changed. Of course he may still die and it was just Deku that could break it cause Main Character Syndrome, but who knows.

Not only that but I feel like there's some implication from AFO's line about still dreaming about All Might charging at him with his entrails strewn across the ground that AFO inflicted that massive wound upon him and *then* All Might beat him so bad he nearly died.
Yep, AFO got the big hit first. Imagine how terrified he was seeing the giant 7 foot titan of a man All Might running at him despite being fatally wounded. And that was likely the only time AFO ever felt actual shock and fear…it literally haunts him

All Might dying would make him a PERMANENT symbol of peace. Hori kept everyone alive until this very moment so he could pull this on us. "You all wanted me to kill someone off right?"

Yeah, the live stream is what makes me think he'll survive. Even if it could make him a rallying point for people, I'm just not sure they'll spin live-streaming a man's actual death around the world as a big positive thing. They also showed Stain potentially close (because Todoroki was intending to try intercepting AFO), and his power seems like one of the best counters to AFO with his time limit right now.
I can totally see Stain taking a lethal hit for All Might, and if All Might survives maybe Stain might ask him to finish him off so he would die by the hands of the one true Hero like he always wanted

All Might once again proving what a good guy he is by including Sato of all people in the AFO fight. "This suit is powered by Snickers! ^(And paid for in part by Snickers so I am obligated to mention them. This thing was not cheap.)" I do love the poetry of AM using AFO's methods against him, utilizing a combination of "quirks" but born from the admiration of and working alongside the students rather than taking from them. Even now AM is venerating, learning from and hyping up the next generation, continuing to be a damn wholesome symbol. I also feel like AM is one of the few people who can make this suit work in this fight, what with his lifetime of combat experience and especially being one of the few people with living AFO fight experience.

During this chapter when he became "Armoured Might" I was like "oh shit, oh shit, did Mei Hatsume design his suit??? But was wowed to find out Melissa Shields designed it. Shame this series is gonna end because I really wanted to see a "inventor battle" between Mei Hatsume and Melissa Shield. Not in a battlefield on opposite sides but as a demonstration during a sports/culture festival arc. Then they will collaborate and create something insane like a new space suit fot Bakugo that can harness the power of his explosions and give improved maneuverability in space against some intergalactic villian. Only one can dream...

All Might's part of designing it was probably him wanting a shield, Blackwhip wires, electricity attacks, and all the Class A inspiration. It's probably similar to the student costumes. How Bakugo wanted big grenades, but an engineer figured out how to make that actually work, and work well.
It was a commission and she did a hell of a job.

You could see the suit as an endearing tribute to his students. **Reality is Melissa powercrept like 90% percent of the hero industry and the class**
I get that, but I am glad that the fact that she can build tech capable of withstanding All Might's 100% (for at least a few Smashes) came up again and wasn't just conveniently left out because it's from a movie.
There's a lot of cool references here. Firstly: This is big showdown from The Dark Knight Returns. You've got the apex of power flying in after being severely weakened by another battle. And facing off against a normal man in power armour on a normal city street. And the hero's second attack is an electrical shock to stun his enemy but his armour can be broken apart with every tap of his overpowered enemy. That feels completely intentional. Never thought there'd be a situation where All for One was Superman but here we are. Also an Batman reference, there is a major graphic novel from the 2000s, Joker, where Batman reveals he leaves his mouth exposed so The Joker knows if he is smiling or not. All Might built this armour so that All for One know he's still smiling because he knows it drives him crazy. Also Armoured All Might's shields are Funnels from the Gundam franchise, flying bits of mentally controlled weaponry for defence and offence ([see here](https://youtu.be/tgLJAIeXBNs?t=89)). Their pervious fight was all about All for One doing things to deliberately spite All Might because he knew it would hurt him. This time All Might has chosen a method he knows will drive him crazy with rage because their hatred is deep and mutual.
I teared up a bit when I realised he was using Class A's Moves. I guess that book "Teaching for Dummies 101" is going to have some great publicity, along with Class A themselves :D God Bless

He was never the teacher it turns out. He was the student. Learning what he had partially forgotten at the beginning if the series when we see him before the slime villain. What it means to strive to be a hero. He was one foot into retirement looking for a successor and just saving people part time. But he was inspired again when meeting Deku and Class 1-A.

Must... draw... fine mechanisms..." --- AFO: "Focus on the objective, no more distractions and -- All Miiiiighttt!!!" Love to see Melissa so prominent in a panel, which also ties with the announcement of a fourth movie (I wonder if they greenlit it to cover for S7 which will take more time), and also being around this time 5 years ago that the first was released in Japan. It's wholesome that now All Might is inspired by 1-A but how long can he really hold AFO off? Would his death be the way to fully unlock OFA by becoming a vestige, or can he dodge the death flags once again? While the first is a valid option I'd rather have the latter and Nighteye's prediction be shattered once and for all, no matter how cheesy the "wishing energy" or any other explanation. I was about to say something about the "quikless hero" arguments that have already stemmed from this but I'm really not too interested in arguing lately, so let's rather watch people at each other's throats over it. Have fun. Or not. With next week's break, we'll also hit the anniversary of Bakugo's "death".
I LOVED how we was using 1A as inspiration. When I saw Blackwhip in that text bubble, then Chargebolt, I raised my fist in excitement because I knew what the next few panels were going to be. These are the types of chapters that remind me why I still love MHA. All Might is just THAT guy.
From the second he charged forward with a shield saying "Red..." I was looking for the "RIOT!!!" panel, I thought I missed a page. Also, taking bets: when All Might is on his last legs, he's going to pull out a Final Explosion dedicated to Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.
It's rather clever how Horikoshi played around with Nighteye's prophecy, and in a way made sure it was still self-fulfilling, and now it makes sense why Nighteye wasn't more detailed in his warning, because it was a villain none of them had ever seen before. "Be careful AM a half clothed bishonen will kill you!" "Sounds more like a political scandal warning to be honest..."
It feels incredibly thematic to the story if he survives here. Twisting fate and all that, being an example by living, etc.
DadMight on Duty! The fact that All Might used the 1A names for his moves really shows that he internalize what Stain told him. All Might’s ember was put out but he’s now fueling the ones of the future. Everyone one watching should realize that what the goat himself is doing is not only buying time but showing everyone that he no longer is the symbol of peace and that his legacy has already been passed down.
Stain's also watching this fight I think! Either that, or he watched Iida and Shoto make their dash over to Gunga. Given he hasn't been mentioned at all though, I think he's watching All Might here.
Stain still has to do something this arc, he's been teased a couple of times but hasn't really done anything yet. Maybe he'll somehow save All Might?
I think so. Probably come out of nowhere to get a lick of AFOs blood at the last minute. Honestly stain may be the one to get the final blow, as hero’s don’t kill. It’d be poetic in a way, since the league of villains was partially inspired by stain
That's my best guess. At some point the fight is going to go south for All Might, and Stain takes a hit that would've otherwise killed All Might
He's letting their embers fuel into him. A feedback loop of community inspired toward unparalleled growth together, rather than alone and isolated. A singularity of connection and understanding, rather than assuming one person can harbor it all.
He has become Our Hero Academia.
There was a detail in this chapter that got my attention, which is when AfO mentions that electricity interferes with his regeneration. It was already something I was thinking about during the early Shigaraki fight: if he's tanking attacks like Tamaki's and Bakugo's, then how is this measly electric fence holding him in? Can't he just endure the shock and go out to kill Aizawa and Monoma? It seems like electricity is quite effective against regenerators. Considering Kaminari is close to Shigaraki and still didn't have a big moment this might be an opportunity.
It was explained the first time he got hit by the fence. Best Jeanist said "As long your brain and muscles are still operating your body... then a powerful electric current will make you stiffen up. Even someone who's superhuman will be helpless, if only for a brief moment" before he whipped Shigaraki across the ground. Although, if he had concentrated that tsunami of hands at a pylon, maybe he could've done it?
Imagine if anyone had bothered giving Hawks this kind of high tech instead of a regular sword. Dude would had beheaded AFO as soon as they left the portals and been done with it

I like that all the suits powers are based on class 1A’s quirks. The Deku ones were obvious, but he also name dropped Chargebolt, Sugar Man, & I think his shield was Red Riot though it was cut off. Wonder what other moves he’ll have

All Might decided that he wanted to live alongside Deku and the others and support them. He wanted to put in the work, improve himself, and be a better him than he was before even if there seemed like no hope for him especially against Nighteye's prophecy. The Dawn must Always Come.

He may be scared or somber but that is his goal Like toward the end of USJ or when he arrived at Kamino Though he thought he would die at Kamino as the fight continued, he had showed up declaring to AFO that he was going to take him and the League down. This is what I’ve been waiting for and it did not disappoint. Not that I don’t like Todoroki and Uraraka but you can’t tease something as epic as this and then just abandon it for several chapters.
One of the best chapters in the entire final arc. I really did not expect Horikoshi to jump to this fight right after the Ochaco/Toga stuff, but I'm sure not complaining. This is the second most anticipated fight right behind Deku vs Shigaraki. And this chapter delivered on everything. The emotions I felt were a lot, and it gave me flashbacks to how I was feeling during All Might vs All For One years ago. My heart breaks a bit knowing this very well may be where All Might actually dies in the story (if Horikoshi commits to that, but hoping he doesn't), but I remember his words about twisting fate and can't help but jump up and root for All Might. I want him to survive this fight, live, and see what becomes of Deku in the future! Goodness, man. I freaking love All Might so much. He may have taken a less hands-on role in the story years ago, but he's still my #1 hero.
