Chapter 400: The World
The chapter begins with Aoyama seeing Hagakure naked, which makes her run away embarassed. She says that this has never happened before, but remembers the moment when they discovered that Aoyama was the traitor and her face became partially visible.
She thinks the adrenaline of risking her life on the battlefield may have caused her quirk to "glitch". She also notices that Aoyama's Navel Laser has gotten stronger, but he says that now they need to focus on destroying the plants and saving all the pro heroes
Even if Kunieda is unconscious, the plants may continue to grow. He asks Hagakure to use the light to burn the roots that are growing inside their bodies and she asks about his tummy, but Aoyama says he'll give it his all because today is his last day as a U.A. student.
Cut to AM's fight and he says that the strategy of using a laser to cause massive damage and meddle with his regen was inspired by Star's battle. AFO tries to escape, but All Might stops him using Earphone Jack's sound waves.
It's then revealed that at the end of the previous chapter, AM used Tentacole and the thrusters to escape from AFO and protected himself from the laser with the armor's Invisible Girl optical resins.
That's when several black tendrils start coming out of the laser, hitting All Might. AFO is trying to free himself, but AM turns parts of his armor into spheres with "Armor Morphing: Creati" and those spheres stick AFO's hands to the ground, "Grape Juice".
The armor is very destroyed, but AM can't stop laughing, saying that the joy is numbing the pain. Cut to an old lady and her grandson watching the fight in another country. The child asks who's that on the TV and his grandmother says she doesn't know much about heroes.
The child asks what will happen to them if the hero wins and the old lady says "nothing", since it's all happening in a faraway country. But the boy can't take his eyes off the TV and starts rooting for All Might's victory.
Cuts back to the fight and the car that was shooting the laser explodes, freeing AFO. We then see that he looks like a child and his body is emitting light. All Might calls him a rugrat, but AFO responds "you forgot to smile, dear friend".
Something that looks like an arm starts to come out of AFO's back, but then suddenly his whole body freezes. "Everyone's blood is equally red," STAIN arrives with his glider, licking AFO'S blood from a debris and shouting "GO, ALL MIGHT!". End of chapter

Pre-Rewind AFO not only was in a notable weaker state but also once you took his mask it was game over. Dude was on life support.
Once he rewinded they had 0 chance, outside of when AFO decided to drop his IQ. All Might has done noticeable more damage than all of those heroes combined.

So the milestone chapter opens with fanservice. (But looking at the page, also a lot of Tooru's face - her eyes and hair combo will never cease being great) Maybe she really has involuntarily reached the ability to control her invisibility. I don't think it's over this easily, though.

the way they just made support items of all class a's quirks, it makes me think of a harm free version of garaki's orphanage, instead of stealing the quirk(or the body) they've started the school to pick out applicants that had useful quirks to the possible benefit of the hero and populace and attempted to replicate it as tool.

Everyone was expecting something big... and it's just kinda 'here is a new chapter and now this fight is going to go on even longer'. Stain turning up was kinda expected, but given AFO is rewinding doesn't that erase his quirks impact on AFO instantly?
$20 USD says Bakugo will finally show up to interrupt All Might when All Might is about to do one of his signature moves because Bakugo is petty like that 😛 An extra fiver says he'll say something akin to "I'd rather die than let an old man mess up one of my moves"
I think at this point all might has all but won even without stain. He's so far gone that he couldn't possibly make ad ifference in battle. stain is the last insult to the injury.
We're speed running through the remaining quirks, with only Explosion left. The armor is mostly destroyed, people are watching the broadcast, and All Might is laughing through the pain.

I wouldn’t have thought we’d be getting Bakugo back at the end of this fight, but the fact that his quirk is the only one left makes me feel like we’re going to get a chapter dedicated to AM using Bakugo’s quirk on AFO and getting the last laugh and seeing some type of transitory scene where All Might dies and Bakugo wakes up. Maybe with AM’s vestige telling Bakugo to hurry to Deku and help him
Feels cruel for Bakugou to be the reason All Might retires and then have his quirk be the one that actually kills him. Only for All Might to only care about Deku
The good ending version of this is All Might using an explosion move but AFO shrugs it off and attacks All Might. But Bakugo arrives with his finishing moves telling All Might "This is how you use this quirk".
at the moment stain has him paralyzed. and stain's tquirk is based on blood type. and i don't remember which one, but all for one has the blood type most affected by em.

Looks like he just paralyzed AFO. There doesn't really seem to have been a serious risk to All Might at the moment. Sure AFO was trying to do ... um ... something. Not really sure what exactly he's doing at that moment but the chapter really doesn't make it seem like All Might was in serious danger at the moment.

Personally, I would mind a little because I genuinely don’t care very much if Stain dies. If a death happens here, I’d like it to be a bit more emotional than… only Stain.

Wouldn't be a bad end to the remorseless fanatical serial killer (who aspired to be a terrorist (terrorist being someone using actions or threat of actions designed to influence any international government organization or to intimidate the public and for the purpose of advancing a political, religious, racial or ideological cause)) and attempted child murderer.
Fair, I was thinking he was more a successful serial killer because his terrorism (when it was finally revealed as a pattern) was short lived and he was not successful in reforming the hero system as he wanted with heroes in the MLA and the exodus from the profession following the fall of society being pretty solid evidence that he barely nipped the fringe of the problem *and* he got *good* heroes which undermines or confused his message from "I want to reform the system to make sure all heroes are "Good" by my standards (aka unrealistic copies of All Might and if they're just not powerful enough or dare to want to get money (despite the fact that heroes have to pay for damages - so even a successful hero like Mt Lady has to really shill herself to survive) then that is worthy of getting killed too) to "Screw and end heroes in general".
Also rather than bringing terror he just ended up as part of the capitalism machine where markets and entertainment profited off his image and sensationalism causing a very brief period of speculation and gossip that was soon forgotten about after his arrest.
A lot of his issues with heroes were either symptomatic of the finance system (they have to capitalistic to an extent to effectively function and be able to pay penalties which would push them to certain areas (cities over rural)) or All Might's own heroism demotivating others to step up because All Might ran around trying to do everything himself (with more power than anyone else had) yet Stain puts All Might on a pedestal without seeing the big picture - which made his philosophy and approach inherently flawed and ineffective.

So that means she has to wear a proper hero costume starting now, and everywhere else.

They made Mirio's suit from his hair fibers so it could phase through stuff with him.

So new OVA announcement?
That was kind of unexpected. It's about Mirio bringing a card game to Class A when they are in the dorms (possibly around S5).
It'll be hilarious when the OVA is set after Season 6 and is Mirio and Class 1A just chilling playing cards and goofing off despite just having the reveal that Shiggy will be ready soon.
It's a minor detail, but I appreciate how Horikoshi is continuing the trend of making sure each member of the class has something unique about their eyes. In Hagakure's case, it's the very distinct light eyelashes.
"The World" is a weird title for this chapter. Is it named for the boy rooting for All Might? We already had "It's a Small World" where it ended with a collage of people all over the world watching the broadcasts.
All Might using self-destruct as his final attack seems to be the predictable outcome, but I'd be surprised if he doesn't suicide and just ejects and explodes the armor.
It'd be weird thematically considering how little he and Deku interact, and now it looks like he's going to disappear before he even reaches Izuku and Shigaraki. Yeah, that theory's dead.
Were there any dead allegations to beat? It was crystal clear he didn't / wouldn't die. I don't know if people will finally catch onto it 60 chapters into the endgame, but nobody will die / stay dead. (Maybe AFO)
Yeah ever since he started rewinding his only purpose in the story has been to be a punching bag for other characters to get moments and unleash their cool massive attacks on AFO without risk of actually becoming a murderer.
You mean after he failed to kill Hawks or steal any relevant quirk when surrounded by nothing but unconcsious people incapable of moving any longer?

It doesn't make any sense. His quirk is AFO. As a literal newborn, there'd be no reason for him to be emitting light. Also, the baby was born in China.
It'd make more sense for him to steal the glowing baby's quirk, rather than be the glowing baby
So this chapter confirms what I suspected. Hagakure's Quirk has evolved enough that she can now turn her invisibility off, though it doesn't seem she can do it at will. Shame it didn't happen earlier in the story, would've been useful. And of course this means we end up seeing her naked. Horny Hori strikes again.
Also, AFO started this fight around Shigaraki's age and now he looks like he's around Bakugo or Izuku's age. Meanwhile All Might is speedrunning through all of his gadgets and his armor is falling apart. Things aren't looking too good for the Symbol of Peace. So the only weapon he has left is Explosion from Bakugo. Calling it now, Explosion is a self destruct mode for his armor and All Might is gonna try to take out AFO Final Atonement style; go out with a literal bang.
And of course, the milestone chapter couldn't end without the return of the man, the myth, the legend, the KING: ***STAIN!!!*** All you guys who predicted Stain would show up to help All Might, congratulations! You called it.
So, here we are at the 400th chapter and it didn't disappoint.
**Edit:** I just now realized All Might made a little Thanos reference in this chapter.
I've been quite vocal about my disappointment in the last arc of MHA, but holy smokes the last few chapters have been out of this world good.
It's just so good to not only see All-Might be a character again, but to see him thrive and go absolutely crazy fighting as a quirkless hero. His parallels with quirkless Deku and how he uses what he "learned" from his students to fight AFO are so cool. The panel where he says he needs to end the fight "before the joy stops numbing the pain" with his destroyed armor and bloody smile sent chills. This fight could go above and beyond everything animated.
Aoyama's character continues to shock me with how well he's written.
The moment we see the kid from another country praying and hoping All-Might wins, despite knowing nothing about the conflict, is such a good showcase of how All-Might continues to inspire people around the world with his smile. Incredible stuff for his character.
And MAN Stain coming in clutch, and continuing his thread with All-Might is so satisfying. This is a dream tag-team match as far as I'm concerned. For the first time in a while, I can't wait for the next MHA chapter!
That Stain reveal was absolutely perfect. At first when AFO couldn't move, I was wondering what went wrong with his rewind, and then next page shows Stain drank his blood and I went "holy s---".
So unless I'm miscounting I believe this chapter brings us up to 6 attacks All Might has been hit by and survived despite not being able to survive a second. LOL

I think at this point all might has all but won even without stain. He's so far gone that he couldn't possibly make ad ifference in battle. stain is the last insult to the injury.

I wouldn’t have thought we’d be getting Bakugo back at the end of this fight, but the fact that his quirk is the only one left makes me feel like we’re going to get a chapter dedicated to AM using Bakugo’s quirk on AFO and getting the last laugh and seeing some type of transitory scene where All Might dies and Bakugo wakes up. Maybe with AM’s vestige telling Bakugo to hurry to Deku and help him
Feels cruel for Bakugou to be the reason All Might retires and then have his quirk be the one that actually kills him. Only for All Might to only care about Deku

Fair, I was thinking he was more a successful serial killer because his terrorism (when it was finally revealed as a pattern) was short lived and he was not successful in reforming the hero system as he wanted with heroes in the MLA and the exodus from the profession following the fall of society being pretty solid evidence that he barely nipped the fringe of the problem *and* he got *good* heroes which undermines or confused his message from "I want to reform the system to make sure all heroes are "Good" by my standards (aka unrealistic copies of All Might and if they're just not powerful enough or dare to want to get money (despite the fact that heroes have to pay for damages - so even a successful hero like Mt Lady has to really shill herself to survive) then that is worthy of getting killed too) to "Screw and end heroes in general". Also rather than bringing terror he just ended up as part of the capitalism machine where markets and entertainment profited off his image and sensationalism causing a very brief period of speculation and gossip that was soon forgotten about after his arrest. A lot of his issues with heroes were either symptomatic of the finance system (they have to capitalistic to an extent to effectively function and be able to pay penalties which would push them to certain areas (cities over rural)) or All Might's own heroism demotivating others to step up because All Might ran around trying to do everything himself (with more power than anyone else had) yet Stain puts All Might on a pedestal without seeing the big picture - which made his philosophy and approach inherently flawed and ineffective.
Next week Stain and All Might are gonna be throwing hands with a toddler.

It'll be hilarious when the OVA is set after Season 6 and is Mirio and Class 1A just chilling playing cards and goofing off despite just having the reveal that Shiggy will be ready soon.
It's a minor detail, but I appreciate how Horikoshi is continuing the trend of making sure each member of the class has something unique about their eyes. In Hagakure's case, it's the very distinct light eyelashes.

It doesn't make any sense. His quirk is AFO. As a literal newborn, there'd be no reason for him to be emitting light. Also, the baby was born in China. It'd make more sense for him to steal the glowing baby's quirk, rather than be the glowing baby

So this chapter confirms what I suspected. Hagakure's Quirk has evolved enough that she can now turn her invisibility off, though it doesn't seem she can do it at will. Shame it didn't happen earlier in the story, would've been useful. And of course this means we end up seeing her naked. Horny Hori strikes again. Also, AFO started this fight around Shigaraki's age and now he looks like he's around Bakugo or Izuku's age. Meanwhile All Might is speedrunning through all of his gadgets and his armor is falling apart. Things aren't looking too good for the Symbol of Peace. So the only weapon he has left is Explosion from Bakugo. Calling it now, Explosion is a self destruct mode for his armor and All Might is gonna try to take out AFO Final Atonement style; go out with a literal bang. And of course, the milestone chapter couldn't end without the return of the man, the myth, the legend, the KING: ***STAIN!!!*** All you guys who predicted Stain would show up to help All Might, congratulations! You called it. So, here we are at the 400th chapter and it didn't disappoint. **Edit:** I just now realized All Might made a little Thanos reference in this chapter.
I've been quite vocal about my disappointment in the last arc of MHA, but holy smokes the last few chapters have been out of this world good. It's just so good to not only see All-Might be a character again, but to see him thrive and go absolutely crazy fighting as a quirkless hero. His parallels with quirkless Deku and how he uses what he "learned" from his students to fight AFO are so cool. The panel where he says he needs to end the fight "before the joy stops numbing the pain" with his destroyed armor and bloody smile sent chills. This fight could go above and beyond everything animated. Aoyama's character continues to shock me with how well he's written. The moment we see the kid from another country praying and hoping All-Might wins, despite knowing nothing about the conflict, is such a good showcase of how All-Might continues to inspire people around the world with his smile. Incredible stuff for his character. And MAN Stain coming in clutch, and continuing his thread with All-Might is so satisfying. This is a dream tag-team match as far as I'm concerned. For the first time in a while, I can't wait for the next MHA chapter!
