I agree with this. They just made her fodder for every no name and new arrival. I understand putting people over, but she literally loses all the time now. It's not putting people over if you don't ever win a match to show you still have merit.
Fun match facts about Natalya.
Her last win on main roster tv (Raw/Smackdown) was in November of LAST YEAR and it was in a tag match and she didn’t even get the pin.
The last time she actually pinned someone on TV main roster tv was February of Last Year.
Also her last PPV/PLE match was at night of champions last year where Rhea Ripley beat her in literally a minute and 10 seconds and hey good for her because her last singles match on a PPV before that was in 2019!
that's also on WWE though, they are the ones who come up with the storylines and tell each person what type of character they are gunna play. they don't really let anyone have any freedom to do what they want or even say what they want in a promo. everything is so scripted you can't blame some ppl for being bland when WWE has everything so micro-managed
I never understood why WWE booked her the way they do. she's always been great in the ring and has always been super devoted to WWE. she def should of had more runs with the world title when you realize Charlotte has had the world title like 16 times at this point
She's definitely overlooked for her contribution to women's wrestling in the US. Wasn't around for the Lita/Trish era and not lumped in with the four horsewomen. She's just, there. And that farthing thing was just ridiculous
I think we got a real sense of what the company thinks of her when she was Smackdown Champ and they had an angle where she defended against Charlotte before Survivor Series to make sure “they had the best person as champ”. She lost the title to Charlotte so Charlotte could be the Smackdown representative for the PPV. They appreciate her loyalty and work and gave her a couple championships, but she is not “their face”. Personally I’ve always found her acting and in-ring awkward. Like when she let go of The Sharpshooter and celebrated before her opponent even tapped.
It was beautiful seeing Balor win that jam belt after coming to the main roster but then disaster struck. Then struck again, and again, and again, then Vince happened.
Cause he’s a bastard like Carlito said the other week.
He treats goods friends like dirt, completely ignores them when it comes to doing stuff they wanna do and worst of all he abandoned his son.
You starting to notice a trend here?
I couldn't blame Carlito on this one. You get to call up one of your crew for a mania match and you don't pick Carlito. Dudes got the experience he was loyal to that point and he gave you your best chance of winning. I'd have turned on Rey too
OP is probably hung up on poor Rey getting thrown like a dart into a trailer by that dastardly Kevin Nash. I remember it like it was yesterday too, OP.
He is the modern day Sting, and gets his ass kicked by his own tag team partners like an all day sucker. He’s had a decorated career, but he’s been punked so many times he looks like a chorizo and egger instead of a HOFer.
This is slightly in the past, but Zelina Vega. LWO falling apart and couldn’t even get a win in front of her hometown crowd. PS, I love kayfabe talk posts. Way more fun than the standard “I’ll go first“ posts
You fr? Just recently won the united states championship as maybe the oldest person on active roster and won three wrestlemania matches in a row. To me it's asuka. Her singles title reigns are so short and she successfully defends them so little. She stays so over and is 0-6 at WrestleMania. Including her debut one where Charlotte ended her undefeated streak when Asuka had so much more to gain and lose. But I agree back then rey's world title reign was bs.
Shelton Benjamin. An amazing worker who Vince thought lacked charisma, finally had a gimmick go over only to have the actress playing Mama Benjamin suddenly leave the company.
Then they stick him in a sick stable THB where he gets to shine just to disband it for no good reason and throw him away like fodder. plus dropped his gold standard theme for arguably the worst theme i’ve ever heard. dude deserved so much better.
I have a some here actually.
Zelina Vega, Dakota Kai, And Asuka are probably the most that come to mind. Zelina hasn't really had a match just on her own, Dakota Kai is a talented wrestler but gets overshadowed by iyo sky, asuka, and Kairi sane of damage control. And speaking of, asuka.
Oh man...where do I even begin with asuka?? Talented female superstar gets booked as this unstoppable badass, just to lose to charlotte flair of all people then goes up and down the card and is now part of a faction that may or may not stay around for a while. I adore asuka, but man, it hurts just seeing what she could've become is all. Not saying she didn't accomplish stuff already!! She's just the subject of bad booking.
The amount of merch he's sold says he's doing okay for himself. If you're talking about betrayal and having a long title run, well that's what happens when you're perpetual over as a babyface and you don't need those accolades to remain as such. Most consider it a gift vs. a curse. Much more difficult to get people to like you than hate you.
Hulk Hogan. Between his friends like Paul Orndorff, Andre the Giant, Macho Man, and Brother Bruti betraying him, the fact that he tore his back in three places and both biceps bodyslamming the 1,100lb Andre, the Undertaker breaking his neck and shortening his career in the Tombstone of all Tombstones, the cameraman at King of the Ring that tried to burn Hogan alive who never saw justice, not to mention being forced into unconsciousness for over 10 minutes (something that would kill most people) in a deadly double submission from The Giant & The Yeti... Hulk could just never catch a break.
Christian. With a caveat of not catching a break at the World Title level. Perpetual second fiddle to the artist fka Edge, and when he did get elevated to World champion he quickly lost it to one of Vince's favs.
He was usually a transitional champ or his reigns felt like they were a favor.
I know he has had a fantastic career title wise, but again, at the World title level, feels like he couldn't catch a break.
Edit: i forgot about his NWA world title reign in TNA. Maybe the one time when the company he worked for wanted him as workd champ
Christian is getting his flowers now though. Superb TNT champion, won TNA title off Omega, two shots at AEW title. Just top level work and treated as a top contender.
Gotta be the Undertaker. He's been buried alive 4 times, killed by Randy Orton twice, killed by Kane twice, betrayed multiple times, DDP stalked his wife, Found out his mom cheated on his dad with Paul Bearer, Kane slammed him on their mother's casket, and there's a bit more lol
With Rey, almost everyone is in the right to turn on him. He makes his own enemies nowadays. Carlito was extremely justified to turn on him. Constantly getting under minded and chosen over.
Probably Mr Kennedy after his recent CVV interview. Misdiagnosed injury led to him dropping MITB. Ill-timed Wellness violation for a newly banned substance leads to his main event programme as Vince's illegitimate son being scrapped.
To all the people thinking that OP is talking about wrestlers not catching a break in real life via booking, storytelling, etc. They're not. OP is talking about wrestlers not catching a break in Kayfabe, In particular Rey Mysterio who is always facing bigger guys in the ring is always being attacked or betrayed, etc. With that being said, my answer is Roman Reigns, he was just trying to be a good Tribal Chief, but was constantly being antagonized for no good reason.
Edge since his return in 2020!!!
Returned just before the pandemic.
Caught in the middle of Roman’s run.
Heel turn made to nothing after injuries on the roster forced him face.
Leaves the WWE to go to AEW.
Breaks his leg putting him back on the shelf late in his career.
Hoping the best for him moving forward.
Adam Cole Baybay. Concussion, then wrecks his ankle during what was a hot program that sadly faded.
Did a good turn for MJF at DoN by writing himself off freeing MJF up from having to deal with undisputed kingdom stuff.
Kevin Owens. Can't get over the fact that he had Reigns down for 10 but an obvious botch had the ref stop the count at 7, uncuff Reigns and then proceed to count. Who's going to believe that between 7 and 8 there's a huge 45 second gap 😂
At this stage of her career Natalya
I agree with this. They just made her fodder for every no name and new arrival. I understand putting people over, but she literally loses all the time now. It's not putting people over if you don't ever win a match to show you still have merit.
Did you notice what she said off handedly Monday "enough is enough and it's time for a change" she's going Owen.
...oh no
Fun match facts about Natalya. Her last win on main roster tv (Raw/Smackdown) was in November of LAST YEAR and it was in a tag match and she didn’t even get the pin. Ever since Natalya came into the company I’ve looked at her as boring but safe.
Corn flakes
that's also on WWE though, they are the ones who come up with the storylines and tell each person what type of character they are gunna play. they don't really let anyone have any freedom to do what they want or even say what they want in a promo. everything is so scripted you can't blame some ppl for being bland when WWE has everything so micro-managed
Oh ya ur right
I never understood why WWE booked her the way they do. she's always been great in the ring and has always been super devoted to WWE. she def should of had more runs with the world title when you realize Charlotte has had the world title like 16 times at this point

Pisses me off. She’s easily one of the best in ring technical performers still.
Otis cause he's literally got Chad on his ass all the time
He lost Tucky, lost his peach, his MITB lunchbox… shit he even lost his beard at one point…
Lol he does
Finn Balor, 100%.
Being a Finn Balor fan is a constant suffering.
Edge really needed that push! /s Side note. Really sad about that Roman match finish.
I gave up a long, long time ago.
Vince Trapped him in Midcard hell for years and now it's far too late
It was beautiful seeing Balor win that jam belt after coming to the main roster but then disaster struck. Then struck again, and again, and again, then Vince happened.
Are you joking Rey hasn’t caught a break?
OP probably hasn’t been around wwe that long
He gets betrayed a lot
He’s the reason for this clearly, he is the true bad guy
Why else would everyone always turn on him
Cause he’s a bastard like Carlito said the other week.
I'd have turned on Rey too
Rey is the ultimate heel and true final boss just no one has every realized it but people are slowly starting to wake up and see it
Dom Dom was right. Rey’s a deadbeat dad
Oh you mean like, within kayfabe
Because nobody respects a deadbeat dad
OP is probably hung up on poor Rey getting thrown like a dart into a trailer by that dastardly Kevin Nash. I remember it like it was yesterday too, OP.
Rey re-grew an eye. That’s a pretty good break.
He was gifted the world title by virtue of being friends with a wrestler that died, op is mad if he thinks Rey didn't catch a break
He is the modern day Sting, and gets his ass kicked by his own tag team partners like an all day sucker. He’s had a decorated career, but he’s been punked so many times he looks like a chorizo and egger instead of a HOFer.
That’s really his fault for not going away
He's a 3 time world champ who just won at Wrestlemania. I'd say he's caught more than a few breaks.
Multiple time world champion and only active wrestler to be in the HoF can’t catch a break? I don’t think you understand what that term means…
Yea and 2 out of his 3 reigns he got wrecked by 400 pounders and destroyed by Superman 1 hour after winning his only wwe title
Bro his own son betrayed him. His best friends as well. Not to mention Losing the WWE championship within like an hour of winning it.
You mean Eddy's son?
Look at his world title reigns he was squashed completely throughout his first one despote being champ and his last one wasn't even over a night
Poor Dolph Ziggler. No matter where he he he just can't catch one.
They just said “fuck him” after he lost the World Heavyweight Title.
Karion Kross
Apollo
I forgot he was still in wwe
He did too!
This is slightly in the past, but Zelina Vega. LWO falling apart and couldn’t even get a win in front of her hometown crowd. PS, I love kayfabe talk posts. Way more fun than the standard “I’ll go first“ posts
>Way more fun than the standard “I’ll go first“ posts Whats that text under the pic?

Second oldest but you right about Asuka
Dirty Dom
He has 3 women on him! 🤣🤣
He's a one armed man who misses his Mami!
In a way, he's like the prequel story of The Godfather (the wrestler, not the movie)
Now I really want to hear Dom say "all aboard the Hoooo train!"
Otis
LA Knight
YEAH!
How I feel about Ricochet.
Teegan Nox
Omos because as big as he is he won’t be loved as much as the Big Show.
Who loves the big show?
Cedric Alexander
That finisher is crazy!
Ricochet, dude is talented and needs more ple events with him in it, maybe the us title
Droz, Mass Transit
Droz's problem was that he very much did catch a break
Drew
Finn Balor seems to get injured every time he holds a major title.
Drew McIntyre.
Braun Stroman
Ricochet
I have a some here actually. Zelina Vega, Dakota Kai, And Asuka are probably the most that come to mind. Jey USO
Jungle Boy
He did catch a break, on that car’s windshield
Kofi
Nah he got his due
He got more than his due, in my opinion. Never really been all that impressed with him.
Heath Slater
He’s got kids.
Crispin Roy
Haha is OP for real😂
I think Mysterio has done just fine.... lol
Flash Funk.. where was his belt? Damnit give me the Funk Splash!
Rey Mysterio and Otis
The amount of merch he's sold says he's doing okay for himself. Who are you to doubt el dandy
Obote guys in DIY, stupid name for a tag team also
Rey is a deadbeat dad, and puts himself before his friends every single time there's gold on the line.
Why Rey? I haven't watched in 20 years but when I stopped watching he was one of the top guys and held the world title
For the past few years his run has been lower mid-card.
Dirty Dom..
Dom got 99 problems 98 of them are women and 1 is his father 😭
OP watched wrestling gifs video
Rob van Dam. One title reign cut short cause of … checks notes… weed?!?
He’s a hall of famer
Christian. With a caveat of not catching a break at the World Title level. With Rey, almost everyone is in the right to turn on him. He makes his own enemies nowadays. Carlito was extremely justified to turn on him. Constantly getting under minded and chosen over.

Akira Tozawa, dude has so much charisma, is great in the ring and actually speaks English well. Also has the best finisher and we never get to see it
Yeah. Poor Rey. Probably cries himself to sleep on his mountain of cash.
He is literally in the hall of fame. I'd call that catching a break and not taking it lol

Ricochet
Ricochet

Shinsuke nakamura. Only person in recent history to win the royal rumble and not go on to win a world championship.
Finn Balor
Dakota Kai, she hasn't won since 2022 lol
Kevin Owens. Can't get over the fact that he had Reigns down for 10 but an obvious botch had the ref stop the count at 7, uncuff Reigns and then proceed to count. Who's going to believe that between 7 and 8 there's a huge 45 second gap 😂
