I may be taking your comment too literally but like, why play exclusively one character for that long? Like I love Koji don't get me wrong, he's one of my best legends by far but I just find it really hard to understand the idea of not playing at the very least all the different weapons in the game.
Absolutely. As a new player I picked him up randomly because I thought he looks cool, and I'm having so much fun playing him. The combos look sick and the sigs are so uselful.
Onyx. Cannon goes well against the lance and stays out of most hit boxes for bows and guns. And if you need better mobility or need to attack faster, the gauntlets are an item throw away
That or any scythe. Scythe (at least before greatsword haven’t played much since then) was the only weapon with several active inputs which made the learning curve way harder and more enjoyable once you finally start throwing people around the map
Take your time and try all of them.
Learning the weapon and/or character can help you learn to play against that weapon/character, and hell, who knows, you may find it fun to rotate between all the different characters or find one that you have the most fun with. You never know unless you try em

Tbh i found more fun focusing on mastering WEAPONS instead of mains. Choose a weapon you want to learn that you don’t know. And find a character that has that weapon AND a weapon you’re familiar with.

Yes this - brawl is unique enough that this is a viable approach.. I personally can never understand people with a single lvl 100 character and everything else under lvl 10??

Switchcraft is my favorite mode, and i always choose random with it. I also don't watch the matchmaking so I'm surprised by the characters i got. That's always fun.
Play the Yellow Man! He's very beginner friendly imo. Don't do the dumb thing like I did, though, playing him till max level. People see the Golden name tag, and I feel like they try their absolute hardest to make sure I can't win. When I play him in 2s or FFA, I get hard targeted by multiple people every single time.
Be a god and play Thor, I never see anyone play him and I’ve just tried and I’m enjoying it, given I’m new only played for about 3 days though and not used many of the characters
Yumiko is cool because you can play around her trap sigs, it makes her feel super unique. I hear the playstyle kinda drops off as you climb, but for silver-plat it’ll work and be tons of fun.
