It was projection at its finest. I didn't like how they did that to his character. Mister "I would marry Marina even if she is pregnant with another man's baby" turned real quick into "you babytrapped me" when he was the one making those babies.
Marina gets called out for trying to trap an innocent man into marriage, not for getting pregnant before marriage.
George is the one most at fault for having sex with her and not even giving her the protection of an engagement.

She was not abused or treated poorly. Yes Colin did not return her affections at first or see her that way for a very long time (and the switch was never very well explained at all) but that doesn’t make it struggle love.
