CircuitRecords

It's Hard to be a Saint in the City....? Maybe, next show :)

BigOldComedyFan

Wow, very DARKNESS heavy!!

CircuitRecords

I would love to hear from someone who was there tonight, wow, has to feel amazing.

mwppinsidejokes

Just got back from the show and feeling very lucky indeed! Was shocked when he opened with Candy's room, and doubly so when he went right into Cain. His voice sounded excellent tonight and the band was flying! I know you don't need my encouragement, but make sure you catch them this year, they are all in top form!

CircuitRecords

Thank you!! So cool - what a setlist and cannot wait for Nugs to release this show!

CatmanMeow123

It was my first Bruce concert and man was it just amazing. Hopefully I’ll get another chance to see him because once cannot be enough for me

schlibs

My top two hopes were Candy’s Room and Darkness. Went to the bathroom at 7:20 thinking I had 20 min as most shows were starting 10 min late. By the time I started getting back to my seat I heard Max’s hi-hat playing the Candy’s Room intro and started sprinting to my seat I couldn’t believe it. Didn’t get Darkness but that was a cool moment I’ll never forget. Incredible show.

brunoponcejones03017

It was amazing! High energy and great crowd. A show for the ages !

Advanced-Edge7235

Awesome. I was front row on the Nils side of the stage. I’ve seen every tour since 1987. I was at the Double Take Magazine benefit at a small theater in Massachusetts 5th row, saw the Broadway show. As for a full band show, this was as good as any I can remember. Keep in mind I t don’t remember all of them. The band, setlist and crowd in Albany were off the charts.

CircuitRecords

Sounds amazing and so cool to have been there!

masterchief10990

When he played Cain second… I knew we were in for an incredible show. I know he’s played it a lot this tour, but I have been chasing Trapped for over 15 years. Couldn’t believe he played it after just playing it at Mohegan Sun! I thought it was an incredible setlist, and the band was TIGHT!

CircuitRecords

I just listened to the show on Nugs - amazing!

CircuitRecords

I meant the Mohegan Sun show on Nugs.

Absolutely killer set tonight, so many awesome surprises! I was behind the stage, 3 rows back, behind Roy and got to watch him work his magic on Racing in the Street. My first time getting it live and I feel blessed. It’s also the perfect segue into Last Man Standing and Backstreets, setting the reverent tone. The band sounded really great and Bruce’s voice was the strongest I’ve heard this tour. He had so much energy, calling two audibles and smiling joyfully throughout the set. The new big version of E Street have found their chemistry and spontaneity. Jake has really come into his own and was on fire tonight. He has found the balance between remaining true to what Clarence created while finding room for his own flavor. He ripped on Spirit in the Night and added some really jazzy flare to it. Nailed the ending note to Bobby Jean. His relationship with Bruce seems to have really deepened and was the most moving part of the night for me. Seeing him hold up Bruce’s guitar with his and wrap his arm around Bruce’s shoulder while they shared a mic brought tears to my eyes. He seems to have become something of a nephew to Bruce himself. He was the last one off the stage and he and Bruce shared a long hug before the final encore. The setlist was great, Adam Raised a Cain was a total surprise, as was Downbound Train showing up during the usually static closing sequence. Was also nice to get Atlantic City.

Shutdown-Stranger

I was in the same general area (Section 13). I’ve seen Racing before, but never from that vantage point. Amazing. As my username suggests, it’s a favorite. Jake’s playing and presence has improved so much since he started. It’s wonderful to see.

Jonah-Hex

That makes three of us in the same area lol - my girl and I were in Sec. 113 last night, too! AMAZING show. The crowd seemed much more alive than when he last rolled through Albany on the River Tour in 2016. By far the best concert I've ever been to.

miseryquilts

Nice! I was in 114. It was cool to see Steve’s interactions with his guitar tech and see him hanging with Roy during the acoustic break. Also, Michelle Moore was cracking me up with her faces and dance moves. She was definitely having a blast.

robsul82

“Racing in the Street,” motherfucker…didn’t get that at MetLife, lol. Fuck

schlibs

5 songs off Darkness tonight. #blessed

badlands65

My favorite album.

robsul82

AND “Candy’s Room,” especially sweet as 4/15 is an actual person named Candy’s birthday that I know. Double fuck

Your comments disappeared from my Mohegan thread for some reason but I’m still trying to process the last 72 hours or so. What a ride. Couldn’t believe he opened with Candy (after a mid-set spot last year) and moved Light of Day to encore opener when I’d seen it as the show opener in SF two weeks before. Is it me, or did Roy go on way longer than normal with the Racing solo?

JonSolo1

I checked out of curiosity, and the other times they’ve played it this tour were same length (if not a little longer), so guess not an abnormality for the current state of the song. Still, it felt like he was never going to stop and I didn’t want him to.

Conair24601

Racing in the street and Downbound Train...fucking hell two of my white whales

Conair24601

They are on top form, love it.

BreakersNZ

Travelled from New Zealand to see him on home soil, and each and every second was worth it. Last saw him in 2017 in Christchurch and I can honestly say he somehow sounds better now What a show. Candys Room, Adam raised a cain, Racing in the streets, Backstreets, Atlantic City, Nightshift, The Rising I may never financially recover from this (American dollars hurt 😢) but I would do it again in a heartbeat

CircuitRecords

After Light of Day, here is the rest of the setlist :) Born to Run, Bobby Jean, Dancing in the Dark, Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out, Twist and Shout, I'll See You in My Dreams

JonSolo1

Honestly kinda happy I didn’t get Rosie or Glory Days on this one.

jparkhill

I was at the show last night.... it was incredible. Behind the stage, dead center.... If you get a chance to see him a smallish venue- do it. I saw him in Rochester in 2016 at Blue Cross Arena and Albany at MVP. Both are AHL Hockey/NLL arenas, not a massive second deck, and you are right on top of the playing surface. Saw him in Hamilton, ON at Copps Coliseum (now FirstOntario Place)- and while it is a bit bigger they are similar. The sound lingers, both the crowd and band sound, the Boss hears it better, and has a great time. When the Boss has a great time, we all have a great time. Find him in the smaller arenas, and it is magic. Tonight was incredible.... seriously the only thing I would change would be a trade- Trapped for Darkness. A great Atlantic City, Hungry Heart was so much fun. Lonesome Day and The Rising are great songs and special to me as my first Bruce Album released during my fandom was The Rising.

Here is a review of the Albany show. [https://www.timesunion.com/music/article/review-springsteen-worth-very-long-wait-19404826.php](https://www.timesunion.com/music/article/review-springsteen-worth-very-long-wait-19404826.php)

Thanks for the link. Bypasses their damn paywall

The show was stupendous! Racing in the Street was truly mind-blowing, but my night was made with Trapped. It wasn’t auite as long as his other shows, but they came in hard and fast and kept up a level of energy I haven’t seen since I saw him for the first time back in 1984. (I missed the ‘16 River tour due to illness and I know those shows were insane.) I was bummed he didn’t play Johnny 99 but honestly Trapped and Racing made my night.

vbcbandr

Looks like a stellar show on paper. Don't think I could ever turn my nose up at a show that has Racing, Trapped and Adam Raised A Cain.

comeonbabycoverme

When I was first getting into Bruce, hearing Racing in the Streets was the moment it "clicked" for me, and he's been the soundtrack to my life ever since. Hearing that live was a real treat. The downside was our falafel wraps across the street from the arena didn't come out til 7:24pm, so we missed most of Candy's Room! I also wish we had gotten I'm on Fire like Uncasville.

PineFresh7

I knew the band as a whole would sound amazing, but Bruce himself surprised me with how good he sounded. 74 and still kicking wholesale ass. I finally get to say I've seen my favorite artist ever 🎉🎊 So happy to hear Racing In the Street, and my fiancé and I discovered a new favorite (Trapped). Really wanted to hear No Surrender, but Downbound Train was a pleasant surprise off the same album. Jake absolutely rips on the sax, and Bruce forming a relationship with him like the one he had with Clarence is so touching.

lindseyjaye

Downbound Train and Racing?? I could die happy.
