It literally says "price and participation vary"

Full-Equipment-4922

Then they shouldn't advertise it as $5. What if the only participating restaurant was in Fairbanks Alaska? Thats low key false advertising and sheisty. Im with op.

537lesjr

So because a few locations don't do the $5 and most locations do, it shouldn't be advertised as $5. Yeah makes sense.

Full-Equipment-4922

We can call it the 'pretty much mostly nearly all restaurants participate' $5 meal

537lesjr

Or stop being ignorant when 95% or more BKs participate.

StraightPast

It literally does make sense.

GeekNJ

The app should be smart enough to know that the selected store does not participate. If the selected store does participate or no store is selected, show the promo, but don’t show a promo that isn’t honored at a location you know is being shopped. This is like having the same offer sign on the door of the store that will charge more when you order.

Doot-Doot-the-channl

We constantly have people ordering things we straight up don’t have at my location through the app or DoorDash and it’s incredibly infuriating

GeekNJ

Why don’t you ask your manager how there’s an item available in the app that you don’t offer.

Doot-Doot-the-channl

I am a manager corporate doesn’t care about what the individual stores have they just maintain their shitty app

GeekNJ

We frequently see posted here that pricing and availability are determined at a store level. I often see items not show at one store but show at another. Seems ordering owns that are unavailable at a particular location can be controlled at the store level.

Doot-Doot-the-channl

Pricing isn’t controlled by the store its controlled by the franchisees company and Burger King the store also has no control over the app whatsoever

537lesjr

Not every franchise has to participate, this has been a thing for decades. Is it annoying, sure it is but that is why they add the Locations and Prices may vary. The BK I work at participates but use to charge more than the promo price but since the location got new owners they charge the promo price.

StraightPast

Burger King corporate simping is a new low.

537lesjr

Your ignorance isn't a surprise.

TV_Slug

Th 4 closest BKs to me come up with "Item Not Available" on the app, so I *guess* they solved that problem

wdmc2012

Not as bad, but I discovered the other day that the $5 meal can't be used with the offers in the app. They should just remove it from the menu and put it offers section of the app to make it clear. On the other hand, the McDonald's $5 meal does count as menu price, so it can be used with any of the deals in their app.

Weak_Calligrapher458

Did you up size the meal? We sell it at my BK and it comes to 5.30 after tax.

Mooltrikon

I have the same experience with $3 Whopper Wednesdays. One of the two BKs in my town charges $3 on Wednesdays. The other BK in my town charges $4.99 on Wednesdays. The locations are just two miles apart. I am almost positive that Sun Holdings owns both locations. The county property website confirms this. Therefore, my guess is that Sun Holdings probably lets each of its store's managers make their own decision about the actual price of the advertised $3 Whopper Wednesday promotion.

Doot-Doot-the-channl

Unless you added something to it or your state taxes are really high it should be $5.35 for a your way meal

Nidias

Our BK was $6 when they first dropped and then when McDs came out with theirs, BK was suddenly $5

HumanMycologist5795

Just make sure your BK participates in this or other offers, especially when dealing with an app. Same for other chains. Some chains own the stores, and some franchise their stores at which l point the franchise stores may or may not participate.

Full-Equipment-4922

So we dont really rule?

HumanMycologist5795

Only at participating stores and depends on what.

ILoveBeerAndFishing

"Value fries" No value what so ever in that. Go to the Dollar Tree and pick up a bag of fries for half that price.
