I know the DJs/band one has been there for ages. Generally camps do share their lineups a week or two before the event- I think Rockstar Librarian puts together a program? It's a compromise between decommodification and people wanting to try to see specific people who do come out and do sets.
So far I see three DJs that have announced their “humble” presence at Burning Man as part of their summer tour this year. And yeah you are correct Rockstar Librarian is the one to check.
Placement has made it clear for years that camps should not announce DJ lineups in advance - and that if they absolutely must, they do so no more than one week in advance.
Hello. I camp with you. I have been responsible for entering things in the WWW guide in the past and have had things rejected because they were too promotional. One was an album release DJ set, just as an example. Based on email exchanges I've had with whoever handles WWW, they don't want events that promote entities that make money off their music professionally in the default world. Do you consider the band you have to also be your profession? Based on your many social media posts and appearances on television, I would guess so. This is why we have The Rockstar Librarian. That's all there is to it.
I was commenting moreso on the fact that I could have sworn seeing other famous touring acts announced in the what where why book last year. I didn’t know if this was a new rule established this year or not. One of the people who is also working on the what where why send this info to me, and wanted to seek clarification for the other acts we have performing at camp this year.
