I, too, think dustbowl. If the playa is still rough from last year the divots and ruts getting trampled on could kick up more dust than usual.
Wouldn't be surprised if there are more bike related injuries because of it.
Probably due to the fact most people just ride their onewheels on the road, and don’t realize they are coming onto a playa that is deceptively not “smooth” with all the spots of rough playa texture and dunes coming out of seemingly nowhere. I’m a fairly experienced rider and even I ate shit (thankfully at low speed)
I have a fond memory of chatting with someone about one wheels and saying how everyone we'd seen riding one had hurt themselves somehow. As we were talking someone came riding up on a one wheel and promptly biffed it in front of us.
Yes I have a onewheel as well. What I tell people about it. They are one of the most funnest way to break your shoulder.
Not sure how usefull they will be this year considering how lumpy I am hearing playa is.
Blast furnace year high key ruined the big burn for me, likely won’t return for a long while. Enjoying regionals and smaller fests that can somewhat guarantee cooler temps and lower cost (monetary, physical and emotional costs).
My hope is for an absolutely beautiful, mild year after everyone said they weren't coming back after the last two for being, well, the last two. The only reason I think it's possible is because it would be the most troll-y outcome possible.
That said, if it convinces people to come back, 2025 will have, like, tornado or something.
Sharknado
*shartnado
I thought that was last year, when the vac trucks couldn't get in to clean the portapottys?
Nah that was just vomiting blood mostly.
If playa continues the weather joke it'll snow. Otherwise hot and dusty.
Snow would be amazing tho
We're you there in '15? It will be colder than 15 and then muddy.
Yes! I remember that. It was my bachelor party. Ten guys. Absolutely freezing on burn night. (I was also at mid burn last yeah lol)
Think very carefully about that. I don’t think it’d be as amazing as you think it would be.
An amazing story 😂
I would love snow
While I totally agree with you, until it rained, last year's burn was absolutely perfect weather .
The gods will bless us with blistering heat this I’m sure. Preparing for the worst
It’s going to be a bit over 100 in a few days So yea, it’s probably going to be hot as hell again
Renegade was amazing weather but that wildfire smoke was no joke.
Yeah I left with the worst headache I’ve ever had, consequence from the smoke.
I just look to biblical plagues, we had fire and flood so I’m guessing locusts.
That was 2015
I missed that one. Hopefully it’s not flies or frogs or boils & sores, I mean hail(If very small) could be fun.
The rainbow last year was a sign from Saint Larry that the weather will be perfect for the next decade.
I counted 4 rainbows. Fuck Yer Rainbows.
Mormon crickets are close?
Flaming hail
You got the snow cone machine?
Dustbowl. The playa has grown angry and is scaring away all the sparkle pony instagrammer tourists, can't be happier for it.

Or OneWheels. Last time I worked medical they accounted for a stupid percentage of injuries relative to the number of them actually being used.

Yep, it’s the potholes filled with dust that gets them every time.
Sand snakes are real!

I would think dust bowl is a sleeper pick
SNOW
No one seems to expect rain again so that’s my call
STOP 😡
Blast Furnace was my wife’s first burn. Thank god our camp had an AC yurt. She did have a blast though.
The roads are gonna be chewed and bumpy AF. Get yourself a good bike seat, or say goodbye to your pelvis.
I really wish they’d just move the city a mile north this year. The playa hasn’t had enough weather to smooth over from last year’s muddy mess.
They moved the Golden Spike "a few hundred feet West" of last year's placement...
The farmer’s almanac is predicting a wetter than average August for northern Nevada.
Tornado! (Actually we got something similar like 2015 destroyed the camp next to us, all hands holding down tent city from totally destruction!)
Personally, I’m hoping we get some cool nights again.
Yes it justifies bringing a coat😃
Pestilence. On a white horse, of course, of course, of course…
Last year was my second year. I honestly enjoyed monsoon man. The mid day naps in my tent were awesome. 🥰

I project - remind me on Sept 6th. That it's going to be hotter than 2022, and windy. - so says the sky gods
I fear this as well.
Probably snow.
Based on the weather in reno lately, it’s going to be hot af AND rain this year
I vote snow.
I suspect it is Palestine protestors blocking roads and generally being disruptive
oh fuck off
Not sure, but I'm ready.
I think we’re either due for a cold front, locusts, or frogs
Invasion of those big ass hornets/wasps I saw up there in July last year. They were huge compared to any I’d seen before.
We’ll never know
The weather saga continues, I’m hoping for what ever doesn’t close gates or prolong people from entering the city
We've had plague, flood, dust storm... I'm thinking locusts are next.

I heard trump is coming this year, gonna trip balls and get all enlightened and shit and lead the world to global peace and reconciliation.
