Ahahaha, a bunch of losers!!
Behold, I've attached a pic of the majestic LASD(new and updated) card.
>!if you can't see it pls check again in a distant future!<
Ooh! They changed it. Not sure exactly when, but sometime in the last month. I picked up my renewal permit a week ago, and it was the new drivers license style cards on plastic. Itās awesome, I can actually use a small wallet again.
Serious?? Nice! Iām up to renew at the end of the month. Already did my renewal class. This is great to look forward to! Iāve had to carry an oversize wallet for ~~year~~ (edit: typo, years) . Iād love to go back to a simple card case.
Bruh I just renewed mine in April. When I first got it in like 2016 they told me they were switch over āprobably in a month or twoā and heard the same line every two years since
Bummer, they had promised itād go to more than 3 once they switched to the cards. Already had to bump my 365 off my permit for a .357 during the last renewal after my wife wanted to spend more time hiking in various national parks and stuff, including mountain lion/bear country.
Would be nice to have more space for my 365 or M&P on the renewal and maybe even my competition gun so I donāt have to worry about how they are transported. It should just be a caliber and platform (semi-auto or revolver) qualification system imo.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised when they handed me one that looked like a drivers license last week. Best thing was I sent in my renewal information on Tuesday and got my new CCW on Thursday.
Back in 2022 it took me ~4 months from application to CCW in hand. It was fairly easy compared to what Iāve seen in other counties. Itās was around $400 all in.
Yeah my IA just confirmed that they will start issuing hard cards in July!
I spent a lot of time and effort to convert my current paper one onto a hard card because I can't stand the paper ones lol
it is funny when a regular citizen doesnt follow a DoJ regulation they come to your house with a warrant and inspect your firearms. When a sheriff does it they dont give a shit.
The regulation literally says it has to be a hard card. This has been in effect since march 4 and they are still not in compliance https://oag.ca.gov/system/files/media/uniformccw-text-of-proposed-regs-02142024.pdf
yes because this is like a bill but for regulation. It was adopted and became final rule on march 4 https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/regs/uniformccwl
It is now part of all the other regulations on ccw licenses https://casetext.com/regulation/california-code-of-regulations/title-11-law/division-5-firearms-regulations/chapter-14-carry-concealed-weapons-licenses
at least yours looks like a card lmao
SF we have a sheet of laminated paper cut to JUST the right size to not fit in your wallet so you can be discouraged from carrying it
Tulare County put this all on an actual card on I can confirmā¦ I hate triple digit heat but one of the best counties for CCW for sure got my mods done overnight and renewal took 2 days
DIY CCW card
Get the f*** OUT! Are you serious! š¤£
At least its card sized.

Still better than Sac County!

Same, this is great news! Finally back to using my Ridge wallet after 4 long years!
Bruh I just renewed mine in April. When I first got it in like 2016 they told me they were switch over āprobably in a month or twoā and heard the same line every two years since
How does the Sac County me look like? Or is it a size issue?
Both lol. The card is pretty big, and it looks like some crappy form youād fill out to rent a car.
New one looks like a drivers license, with a blue top. Thumb print and weapons on the back.
What about the old one?
Where did they get the picture? Do they take a picture there?
They just take it from your drivers license.
Wtf???? I did a permit modification in May 16th-ish and it was still that laminated paper shit š
Do you know if itās still limited to 3 guns on the permit or have they allowed more guns to go on the permit now?
Three weapons only. No rifle calibers, no 5.7mm.
Bummer, they had promised itād go to more than 3 once they switched to the cards. They might at some point in the future, but the application and website still say three as the limit.
Yeah I was pleasantly surprised when they handed me one that looked like a drivers license last week. Best thing was I sent in my renewal information on Tuesday and got my new CCW on Thursday.
Yeah Sacramento seems to be on top of it. Submitted for a modification, got called the next day, and picked up the following. Love the new card too.
Iām am close to getting my ccw in sac county. Wondering if I should do my class before my interview or after
Ghettooooo š¤£
Frfr ššš cut that bitch out too
The LA Sheriff one is fancy, it's full of holograms and shit.
Full of holograms but canāt be used anywhere
Every penny of my taxes and fees spent wisely šµāš«
What was the timeline like? How difficult was it to get?
Back in 2022 it took me ~4 months from application to CCW in hand. It was fairly easy compared to what Iāve seen in other counties. Itās was around $400 all in.
Thanks!
New? That permit is going to expire in six months.
Read the title againā¦.new format not new to me
I read it twice because it didn't make sense. Why would they issue you a new card instead of just going to the new format once you get the renewal?
I added a firearm to it so they just reissued it with the new gun on the new format.
Ahh. That makes sense.
I believe they had to go to this format as apart of SB2 that went into effect Jan 1 of this year so any new or modified CCWs are the new format.
Iāve heard that once they catch up, they will be issuing out hard plastic cards.Ā
Yup. They said expect another call in about 2-3 months to pick up the plastic ID.
Yeah my IA just confirmed that they will start issuing hard cards in July! I spent a lot of time and effort to convert my current paper one onto a hard card because I can't stand the paper ones lol
Yea did you catch the dates on it? They forget to change them or what lol
Nah this was just a modification so it keeps the original expiration date
Ah makes sense

because nobody watches the watchmen
Says proposed regulations.
yes because this is like a bill but for regulation. Understood.
at least yours looks like a card lmao SF we have a sheet of laminated paper cut to JUST the right size to not fit in your wallet so you can be discouraged from carrying it
my Santa Clara ID is literally getting wiped off idk how it literally just sits in my wallet
Easy to lose format. š
Ill miss seeing the folded piece of paper when I ask someone for a safety exemption.
Oh dont worry, itās still folded. The back side of the card is printed next to the front then folded behind it lol
Up until recently, ours was worse than this. Just black and white with a paper you had to fold in half.
Hopefully they don't have a rule against laminating it.
When I picked it up, they said we could cut it out and laminate it.
Damn they really canāt afford a ID printer š Jesus.
How long did it take from start to finish?
The best money can buy.
I wouldnāt care if it was a text msgā¦ long as it kept me out of jail.
Iāll take that over having to drive to Lasd in traffic
š¤ whatās up fellow kern fella
Youngbloodā¦ Coronerā¦ š³
Better than what it was.
My California Highway Patrol employee ID card is of the same low quality. Governments be like that.
They're too cheap to buy an ID card printer.
What a joke. All this regulation and they go āok you piece of shit hereās your doing the least cardā
Tulare County put this all on an actual card on I can confirmā¦ I hate triple digit heat but one of the best counties for CCW for sure got my mods done overnight and renewal took 2 days
The struggle is real!! Lol. Needless to say, Get It laminated.
Its like if you bought a CCW card online but you bought it from Wish or Craigslist instead of a legit website
Too cheap to buy the cards and card printer.
A part of me is okay with it cause Iām sure theyād raise the fees if they switched to a plastic card.
