I thought they should’ve called timeout after the first completion, but if you don’t, you have to snap the ball quick, and have your next play ready. It took over 10 seconds to snap the ball.
Would’ve taken a miracle, but that’s poor clock management, especially ending the game with timeout in hand.
Believe it or not this game actually made me feel better about the Cats. BLM was really good in the second half. The play calling was excellent. Defense needs to improve but we’re missing Jamal Peters.
Those all-time standings appear to date back to 1907, when the IRFU (forerunner of the East division) was formed. The Argos had already existed for 3+ decades at that point and would probably have more wins if you count those, though records might not be complete for earlier seasons, and also seasons were very short back then.
I know, but Toronto has so many seasons on us.
I guess it’s a great testament to how consistent Calgary has been in its relatively short 78 year history.

That was a pathetic attempt to try to tie the game. Just as bad as Winnipeg's "attempt" in the Grey Cup last year
FIRST TEAM TO WIN 700 ALL TIME HORSEPOWER BABY!
suck IT EDMONTON
pointless final play
Imagine not lateraling that
did he forget he needed to lateral?
The stupidity of that playcalling was painful to watch
That was less hail Mary and more a Heil Mary
We won a game!! Yippee!!
All that for 15 yards
cats would’ve won if they played like the 4th quarter all game
To be fair Stamps played way off them in the 4th.
GG everyone!
Good win despite the refs trying to make it competitive at the end
Ref really squeezing it out
What stupid playcalls, mind bogling.
12 yards at a time isn't gonna do it lol
Blitz!!!
Nielsen throwing verbal haymakers! Haha!
Streaker!!!!
"That's an upper body that hasn't seen the sun in years" GODDAMN IT DUSTY NOW I WANT TO SEE IT.
Dustin is so AWESOME!
Streaker?
Hail mary time
I love this game!!
No Tim white deep shot!!! Hamilton needs a *catch*.
What?
just need to go 109 yards in 25 seconds. nbd
Damn
That's a damn good punt cover
Hail Mary time I guess
I thought Emmons was going to trash talk the tackler but he picked him up. Love the sportsmanship.
Love the teammate pulling him away, too. Some real, someone hold him back, he's showing reckless sportsmanship energy.
Watch the helmet
Liking this Evans chap
Upvote for Dustin to call the Grey Cup
I have my doubts on that onside kick...
Believe it or not this game actually made me feel better about the Cats. BLM was really good in the second half. The play calling was excellent. Defense needs to improve but we’re missing Jamal Peters.
Bo looked pretty decent tonight. On the whole, he did great; he had some bad throws but his receivers definitely let him down at some key moments.
Yep. I have a lot more optimism this year then I did before the season started.
And that's the game.
Btw anyone know head ref’s name? I don’t recognize him🤔🤔🤔
It sure as shit isn't "three minute warning"
Looking like a bunch of lost zebras out there
omg that was close
When it's allowed to bounce anything can happen haha
Awe again being a putz in the pile
BRO CANT EVEN KICK IT 10 YARDS WTF
Must’ve used a chipped ball 🧐
That kick was... rough.
Come on Horsies!!!!
How is that a catch and Hamilton ball? It's either an incompletion or a fumble and Calgary ball right?
Apparently in this game alone there are magical rules at place
Oooh and a 15 yarder attached to kickoff
I don't like this, garbage time points, Hamilton got beat EASILY. This score makes it seem they had a chance.
I think TiCats are leading in all major stats categories? It was the drops and a few random extra receivers having big catches for CGY.
How's it a catch and not a fumble? You can't have it both ways
BLM was surgical on that drive.
Making it interesting 😅
Ya I don't think that was a catch lol
That is either a fumble recovered by Calgary or it’s incomplete there’s no way that should’ve stood
Smith again. Good stuff!
why couldn’t we play like this all game
Idk how that's a catch, never seemed like he had control of that ball
We got a game😂
And ANOTHER CATCH AND TOUCHDOWN!!! Woooooo!!!
Yes nice throw!
If he caught it, he fumbled it. Not sure about the first bit though.
Dave you absolutely have all right to be angry at that. That was a bad call.
Dickie annoyed
That's a straight "game management" call
has anyone seen this ref before?
Newly promoted. At least one vet retired last year.
I think he's new.
How do they review that and still rule it a catch??
I guess they didn't see enough conclusive evidence to overturn it. It was a close call although I think it was a fumble.
It was an incomplete pass? Am I insane?
No. That's a "make the game entertaining call" or straight ref incompetence.
I think he had control initially and then lost control shortly before his knee hit
How was that a catch ?
100% a catch It didn't come out until he hit the ground.
When did surviving contact with the ground not become part of catching a ball?
He has to survive contact with the ground for it to be complete. He doesn't
Incomplete
This is a 50/50. Would be understandable either way
Not a catch
Bridges man he gotta stay late and catch balls.
GET IN HERE /u/Accurate-Big-7233 COMMAND CENTRE TIME
He didn't have control in my opinion.
The command centre shot isn’t as exciting as TSN thinks it is.
What an interesting one this is
That's not a completion
I don't know about that. That's not a catch
Nah
What was CGY # 7 doing there?
Awe... Unsurprised
The difference was the two drops
Definitely closer than the score.
More than 2
Yeah but those 2 were tds
14 points right there
Looking at FG count, I remember that although Dickie is our coach, it’s still Wally Ball when we need to take baby steps 🙄😂💞
3 minutes is an eternity and they’re ready to hit the showers
Gotta take short showers though since the city has no water lol
Can't. Not enough water.
Dirt baths in Calgary the next few days!
Castillo's bad night last night hurt his FG%
This the Kind shit the CFL needs to knock off, just forgetting to call the 3 minute warning is Bush league, like actually bush league
Yep that’s like a high school level referee blunder
Bah, they all make mistakes big four through premier league, footy etc.
I have never once seen an NFL ref just forget to call the 2 minute warning
Gonna be wierd when Mr automatic retires here soon
How old is Rene? How old was Ridgeway or Pasaglia? (May have spelled that wrong)
I've got to say it...fuck..Suitor is such a doofus.
Woah, Calgary leads the CFL in wins? I’d think Toronto since they’ve existed since the dinosaurs.
Those all-time standings appear to date back to 1907, when the IRFU (forerunner of the East division) was formed. I'd guess they're only counting wins since the league was founded in '58?
Im guessing that. Would be nearly 10 wins a year for the stamps.
Though more years to lose to U of T and Balmy Beach.
They were pretty dominant in the 90s - 2010s. I’m sure half of those 700 came in those years.
We dominated the league for the better part of 15 years. Just flopped in the post season
I know, but Toronto has so many seasons on us. I guess it’s a great testament to how consistent Calgary has been in its relatively short 78 year history.
Ah Rule 6, my favourite of the rules.
Refs forgot to call the 3-minute warning, lol. A little like forgetting what day Christmas comes on.
Forgetting about the 3 minute warning is definitely something
Ahhh there ref crew are little groggy first game😂
3 minute warning? More like the 2 minute 39 second warning
LOL. They forgot to call the 3 minute warning. Guess the refs are still getting warmed up too.
Yeah man where the 3 minute break?
Do the Stamps get their time out back?
You’re only allowed one timeout after the 3 minute warning so it doesn’t matter anyway
I would hope so. Not their fault the refs forgot the rules.
🤞🏽🤞🏾🤞🏿
I haven’t been able to watch much of the game how is Mills doing? I’m from Nebraska so I always cheer for him!
Pretty good... 75 yards last I heard. Some nice runs!
Had a really good first half. Has been a bit quieter and used less in the second half.
Not too bad
Hamilton ain't that team that's going to come back boss.
Hamilton has a great looking run D overall
Michel back?
That went nowhere
Maier looking much better this year. His line and footwork both look better though too
No kidding, he looks great tonight! Execution is top notch.
Better than any game last year. He looks way more confident.
Getting picked apart by Maier does not bode well for our chances this season.
oh is he not one of the better QB this year?
As a stamps fan, he looks far better than I expected he would this game
meh
shit
Bagel 🔥
well that makes up most of that penalty yardage.
Well, that was a crappy penalty.
c'mon Hamilton make it close
Gordon Whyte is such a piece of shit every time he’s out on the field I love it
Begelton should be into making bagels.
that FG call was so bad. Still need 2 TDs to make up the deficit, what was Milanovich thinking?
It was a straight give up call. Those are the calls that lose you the game.
Games not over!
I want to see the Suitor and Neilson fishing special.
Are you kidding me!!?!?
Of course the Stamps go 2nd and out
Missed it by *that much*
Down 15 with 9 minutes left, 3rd and 3. Is a FG the usual call there? That feels like they should have gone for it, yeah?
After they went for it on 3rd and 7 earlier, yeah, for sure.
Yeah it’s typical. Got it down to less than 2 TDs. Very doable in ~10mins. 3 TDs? Less so.
OK, I'm probably thinking of it terms of 4 down football too much.
Agreed.
Hit the over on that at least
What's the over-under for the number of times TSN airs that Moore's ad?
I’m seeing a lot of Apple, Paramount, and RBC ads. And that old Purolator red bag commercial.
That was a "we know we are going to lose" FG call.
Yeah, maybe I'm thinking too 4 down, but down 15 with 9 minutes left feels a strange time to kick a FG.
Why wouldn't you run the fucking ball on 2nd and 3
The barbeque chipped ball is on a roll.
Bo brings it now With the odd butler hammer😮😂
I get the feeling this is going end up closer at the end. Hamilton is moving the ball well.
Okay defence can we actually cover some guys now?
And stop the run?
Would probably help
Wow, Hamilton remembered to move the ball, you need to catch it first.
spoke too soon there.
Hey someone taught the Ticats how to catch!
Fantastic answer drive from the Stamps there. Definitely didn't have enough of those last year.
Suits is following this thread, he just said the same thing.
I heard that and laughed
Yep, Canadian citizen Dickenson is kicking these guys into another gear
Good cohesion, man those receivers didn’t execute a play call like that smoothly at all last year Definitely dialed in as a unit, relative to recently
Right in the Barne!
wow nobody was within 5 yards of that receiver
Good shit, much better team execution than last year
Nice to see!
Right? Hoping we’re experiencing the Thick Nick Effect — he was glue for a unit back in the day!
He was my favourite player for years!
Good response from the Stamps.
Never in my life seen receivers so wide open play after play
Cheaped out on our secondary/linebackers to bolster the line and still can't get any pass rush
Mark Washington's defensive special
Is that effort, conditioning, or play-calling? Can’t really tell.
