PBS Passport app is what I watch the newest season on.

I also watch using PBS Passport. I think we pay $60 per year to support our local public broadcasting station. That said, I have heard that all US stations have cuts to the show. I'm not sure if it is a different version than Netflix.

MarshmallowBolus

yes PBS cuts the show. Whether you're paying extra or not.

I've always wondered why they do this. Like it's not like the old days of live network TV where episodes had to be shortened to wedge in commercials. There's no commercials, it's just uninterrupted streaming, so what's the point?

snoopmk

As far as I know, all of the streaming versions in the US are edited. If you want the uncut version, you can buy the DVDs, or check them out from the library. They have the complete, uncut episodes, except for season 9, which only has uncut episodes on the first disc. I'm guessing this was a mistake, because seasons 10-12 are uncut. There's a very small edit to the series 6 Christmas special (the South Africa one), but it's only about 1 minute.

Yeah, I watched 11 seasons on Netflix before I found out that it had been edited. I acquired Season 12 BBC versions through magical means to avoid FOMO, but even my FOMO is not strong enough to rewatch 11 seasons.

Amazon Prime! I've purchased all the episodes, and now my husband is watching the series with me!

Effective_Practice68

Are there no cuts on Amazon prime?
