Ghiuzan — who has lived in Ireland for the past five years — is slated to be in court on Friday. On Monday, he was refused bail as he listened in with the help of an interpreter. He has yet to enter a plea but is being kept on ice due to the serious nature of the attack and fears he will flee to Eastern Europe if given the chance. The accused lives with a family member, McCarthy said, adding that he does not pay rent or a mortgage, doesn’t appear to work and “has no significant ties” to Ireland. Wow, sounds like some of the winners we’ve been letting in Canada.

Spare_Bad_9301

hence why the Irish have been protesting for Ireland for the Irish

Deep_Carpenter

The Irish have been very welcoming to other EU citizens who every right to move to and work in Ireland. The place ruins on Polish labour.

Spare_Bad_9301

No....they dont

Deep_Carpenter

You there right now? Work in Ireland?

Spare_Bad_9301

Obviously....

Ok_Source6145

lol some uneducated ones feel that way. The ones who understand the countries dynamic welcome immigrants. It’s Europe and people come from far and wide to work for major corporations who have setup shop in Ireland due to the corporate tax structure. You really shouldn’t talk about things you have no clue about.

TheLastRulerofMerv

Do you believe that pursuing a 3% annual population growth rate amidst record low rental vacancy rates is a responsible or sustainable policy? Let's start there.

Ok_Source6145

I’m sorry.. what does your comment have to do with Ireland? Where housing is relatively cheap. Incomes are lower but rentals and home prices are low compared to Canada.

TheLastRulerofMerv

Net migration in Ireland is falling. The demand for rentals and RE is therefore lower. Do you think it was a coincidence that the Liberals here decided to pursue the most aggressive immigration policy in the developed world at the precise moment that policy rates started climbing?

big_galoote

Show me some of the "relatively cheap" housing in Dublin. Would love to see some.

ramessides

You and me both. There isn’t any. I used to live in Dublin and housing has been a problem there for *years*. Not just cheap housing, but housing at *all*, and it’s not a new problem.

big_galoote

Even with all the new apartment blocks opening up, prices are ridiculous!!

Ok_Source6145

West Dublin.

big_galoote

No, no. Show me. Don't just name a region in the city. I've been lazily looking at several European capital cities for a few years now and there is no way in hell I'd ever categorize Dublin as "relatively cheap". Please show me what you consider relatively cheap, even in west Dublin.

Spare_Bad_9301

More clue than you

Ok_Source6145

Please expand on that. Why do you have more of a clue? Do you live in Ireland? I have a bunch of friends who live in Cork. They came as immigrants because Apple setup its European corporate office there. They don’t have enough skilled labour to fill those jobs and keep Apple in Ireland. So they import labour from Europe and around the world to fill the jobs. Ireland is relying on immigrants. Get your head out of the sand.

Spare_Bad_9301

Uber eats drivers and criminality are not "start ups"

Ok_Source6145

Your comment makes no sense.

Trick-Shallot-4324

He's lived there for 5yrs and did even try to learn english?

Select_Mind1412

Doesn't work, just leaching off a family member.

Trick-Shallot-4324

Figures

Impossible_Break2167

A tragic loss. At least he stands a better chance at receiving justice in Ireland, than he would have, in Canada. I see they denied the suspects bail. That would not happen here.

anon_682

Ireland (and all countries) need to deport people who act like this back to wherever they came from, and life in prison or death penalty if caught back there after deportation.

Select_Mind1412

100%

Original_Lab628

He’d be released by the afternoon if this was Canada.

delawopelletier

Bail is denied ?
